UK: Royal Geographical Society publishes paper linking Southport ‘anti-Muslim pogroms’ to ‘Zionist financiers’

The UK Southport riots happened in July and August 2024 in response to 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana stabbing three young girls — Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven — to death at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class. It caused outrage over coverup allegations. According to the Guardian, Rudakubana’s guilty pleas “triggered a deluge of new information about the teenage attacker and how he had been known to the authorities before the atrocity on 29 July last year. It has also prompted searching questions about how the state failed to stop the attack – and whether there has been a cover-up.” What really happened was that the British government initially lied about the attack in the face of anti-mass migration protests across the country, all while the government cracked down on the protesters to protect its mass migration agenda.

Now a Muslim researcher with the prestigious Royal Geographical Society is spinning the incident of the riots to promote Muslim victimhood and blame Zionists. “Royal Geographical Society publishes paper linking Southport ‘anti-Muslim pogroms’ to ‘Zionist financiers,’” by Jacob Jaffa, The JC, September 3, 2026:

A paper published by the Royal Geographical Society has alleged a link between the 2024 Southport riots and the “Zionist project,” prompting outrage from academics.

Published in the society’s flagship Geographical Journal, the peer-reviewed paper suggests that the violence, which it terms “the UK’s first anti-Muslim pogroms,” occurred in “a very specific genocidal context against the Muslim populations of Gaza”.

The riots occurred in the wake of the Southport stabbings, in which 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana killed three young girls at a children’s Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

It later emerged that Rudakubana had previously been referred to the government’s Prevent counter-extremism protests which, combined with misinformation spread online that he was an asylum seeker, prompted sizeable anti-immigration protests in the city.

Clashes then broke out between protestors, including members of far-right groups, counter-demonstrators and police. Much of the violence was targeted at Muslim sites and areas with a sizeable Muslim population, fuelled by speculation that Rudakubana was motivated by Islamist extremism (authorities later found that he had no specific ideology but was referred to Prevent due to his obsession with violence).

However, Dr Kawtar Najib, the paper’s author, wrote that the protests were whipped up by “racist and Islamophobic activists,” specifically naming far-right figure Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, whom she accused of “calling for racist pogroms”.

She then added: “[Robinson’s] are indeed inspired by white supremacist ideology, which is also at the heart of the Zionist project.

“Both call for a civilisation war with the support of important leaders, such as Donald Trump or Elon Musk, who display their sympathy, support and even governance for the extreme right.”… 

The riots that followed the savage attack on the children were due to anger over a longstanding pattern of the UK government’s coverup of Muslim migrant crimes, including Muslim rape gangs. Rudakubana was discovered to have a “jihad manual,” but his name was initially concealed for fear that the public would turn against the mass migration agenda and threaten the Labour government’s hold on power. Police found, in a search of Rudakubana’s home, “a PDF document titled ‘military studies in the Jihad against the tyrants the Al Qaeda training manual’ and the lethal substance ricin.” Yet many reports characterized him as a Christian.

Islamic supremacists who are working with leftists to present Muslims as victims of the West and of Israel are feeding British citizens propaganda. It’s the other way around. Then when retaliation happens as a result of Islamic attacks, like on the Southport girls, they call it “Islamophobia.”

The Geographical Journal’s Muslim author Kawtar Najib asserts that the riots were “the UK’s first anti-Muslim pogroms,” which occurred in “a very specific genocidal context against the Muslim populations of Gaza.” This bizarre argument is premised on her notion that “white supremacism” is at the heart of Zionism. Najib‘s use of the term “pogroms” is particularly sinister, since the term is historically used to describe waves of violent attacks targeting Jewish communities. 

Zionism is simply a belief in Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish nation and there is nothing “white supremacist” about it. Even when one looks at Israel’s demographics, Najib’s argument is absurd on its face. The largest Jewish group in Israel, about 40% to 45% of the country’s total population, is Mizrahi Jews, whose ancestry originates in the Middle East, including Israel. They never left the region.

Kawtar Najib is a propagandist whose apparent aim is to delegitimize the Jewish state.

That any leading academic institution could possibly accept such a spurious argument uncovers its questionable policies.

The Royal Geographical Society was founded in 1830 for the advancement of geographical science. Headquartered in the UK, it is recognized as the largest geographical society in the UK and Europe. It boasts 16,000 members, and also provides funding for geographical research and scientific expeditions. So its publications have enormous influence.

The Palestinian anti-Zionist agenda to delegitimize Israel has found a way to hijack the integrity of the Royal Geographical Society, which diminishes its academic work. Professor Dame Jane Francis, who leads the Society, “maintains an explicit institutional commitment” to DEI as core values for it. The Society is committed to investigating “how to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in geography.”

The Palestinian cause has found a home under the DEI umbrella, where in the view of its proponents, Zionism and colonialism are regarded with utter contempt.  The Palestinian cause is also the central cause of the Muslim ummah, as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation declared.

When the West tolerates the obscene propaganda that the Palestinian “resistance” movement promulgates, where does this leave Jews? Of course, facing more antisemitism, while Israel battles for its existence.

Israel is not a murderous country, and “white supremacists” did not inspire Zionism. Look at the size of the Muslim-conquered Middle East compared with the tiny State of Israel. Israel was left with no choice but to fight Hamas, Hizballah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad to stop their jihad project to annihilate the Jewish state. Jihadists, as a matter of course, employ the use of human shields in war, most notably against Israel. They did it (and will continue to do it) to accomplish exactly what’s happening now: the demonization of Israel. Israel is blamed for a faux genocide against the Palestinians as it acts in self-defense, while the jihadi use of human shields is ignored. Jihadists are even justified because of a so-called “occupation” — another big lie. And now, whenever Muslims attack infidels and retaliation happens, it’s the fault of the one who was attacked in the first place and retaliates, as is the case with Israel.

Pogroms and genocides intentionally target innocent people solely because of their ethnic or religious identity. It was not Israel’s intent to target Palestinians as a people, but to neutralize threats to its existence. Likewise, a “Muslim pogrom” was not the intention at Southport. Such an idea is risible. Riots were the result of the government’s inaction in the face of Muslims attacking infidels, particularly three little girls with a knife and killing them, amid the UK government’s border mismanagement and coverups of the Southport murders and Muslim rape gangs.

Sir Adrian Fulford subsequently chaired a Southport inquiry, which released a 700-page report. Fulford concluded that “this culture has to end” after uncovering multiple failures before Axel Rudakubana’s attack. Fulford used variations of the word “fail” 295 times, and set out 67 recommendations.

It’s a dark day when DEI and the propagandist Palestinian “resistance” infiltrate an historic scientific organization such as the Royal Geographical Society, cleverly portraying Muslims as victims. Kawtar Najib‘s invented link between the Southport riots and the “Zionist project” has reportedly prompted outrage from academics. But empty outrage is futile.
