UNRWA identifies the Al-Khair Foundation as “among the largest Muslim charities in the UK,” recording an annual income of over £74 million (almost $100,000,000 USD). The two organizations, UNRWA and the Al-Khair Foundation, are intricately tied. They signed a memorandum of understanding in 2015.
UNRWA, a trusted UN entity, has long aided and abetted the jihad against Israel. Some Jihad Watch stories explain further:

- Former UNRWA top dog is now Hamas spokesman, calls on ‘every Muslim to rise up for Palestine and for Gaza’
- Trump to end US funding for pro-Hamas UNRWA, remove US from UN Human Rights Council

- New reports confirm that UNRWA works with jihadis, teaches hatred of Jews and jihad against Israel
The UK Charity Commission investigation followed the arrest of a Turkish man, Mohammad Yousef Hasna, over U.S. accusations of conspiring to funnel money and supplies to Hamas through a “sham charity,” which was discovered to be the Al-Khair Foundation. U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald in Manhattan said: “Hasna worked closely with Hamas’ senior leadership to deliver supplies, food and funding to Hamas under the guise of humanitarian aid.”
The UK’s National Crime Agency is holding Hasna. He will taken to New York to face U.S. charges of “conspiring to provide material support to Hamas, conspiring to finance terrorism and financing terrorism.”
All Western countries need to aggressively weed out Islamic charities with terror ties that are operating under their noses.
“UK watchdog probes prominent Islamic aid charity over Hamas connections, funding,” by Mathilda Heller, Jerusalem Post, August 9, 2026:
The UK Charity Commission is investigating prominent Muslim-registered charity Al-Khair Foundation following reports of alleged Hamas connections, the ombudsman announced Friday.
Al-Khair was set up to advance religion, promote education, support social welfare, build religious harmony, and offer relief to victims of disasters.
However, last month, the Commission said it received a complaint alleging the charity and its partners had connections to Hamas, and had also funded Hamas.
The regulator immediately started examining the serious concerns raised and gathered more information to inform its assessment. The Commission has now escalated its engagement to a statutory inquiry.
This follows the arrest of Mohammad Yousef Hasna, an individual employed by Al-Khair Foundation, in the UK last week. Hasna was extradited to the US and charged with conspiring to provide material support to Hamas.
The Commission said it is considering all relevant information as part of its investigation, which will include verifying his connection to the charity and wider allegations made about it.
Charity’s gross income nearly doubled following Oct. 7 massacre
In the announcement, the US Department of Justice said Hasna provided financing and commodities to Hamas through what was identified as a Sham Charity.
However, The Telegraph obtained the indictment and found that “the Sham Charity” is referred to as Al-Khair throughout…..
