The Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) was created specifically to reduce reliance on America, allowing for the financing of weapons and defense infrastructure. Nine countries, including Turkey, Canada, Albania, Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Romania, and Ukraine, back the DSRB, which has its headquarters in Canada.
Islamic supremacist Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is increasingly positioning himself toward attaining, at least in part, his longterm goal of a revived Ottoman Empire, with himself as caliph. News of Erdogan’s participation in the global defense bank should be a cause for concern in light of the fact that he is also working closely with Trump and Europe, as he works to increase Turkey’s political clout and military capabilities.
Israel and Greece were on alert after Trump’s $700,000,000 sale of F-35’s to Turkey. Greece “fiercely” lobbied France last year to halt the sale of radar-guided, air-to-air Meteor missiles to Turkey. But despite Greece’s concerns, several EU countries are moving ahead with arms sales with Turkey. They include Italy and Spain.
Turkey continues to ramp up its power regionally and globally.
Also last year, Erdogan held further talks with Vladimir Putin in order to deepen ties with Russia, and completely disregarded NATO’s concerns.
Given Erdogan’s reputation, it is peculiar that Western countries would continue to cooperate with these efforts he is undertaking in order to boost his power and military capabilities.

ANKARA, July 13 (Reuters) – Turkey has informed Canada that it will participate in the Defence Security and Resilience Bankas a founding member, a Turkish official told Reuters on Monday.
Defence ministry sources said over the weekend that Turkey was still evaluating possible participation after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said at a NATOsummit in Ankara last week that nine countries, including Turkey, had committed to the bank, in what was seen as a boost for the multilateral drive to help rearm allied nations.

“Turkey has informed Canada that it will participate in the bank,” the official said.
According to Carney’s statement last week, Albania, Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Luxembourg, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine had all pledged their support to the bank, which will be based in Canada.
The roster contained no heavyweight G7nations other than Canada, potentially limiting the bank’s financial firepower, although Canada’s foreign minister, , told Reuters it would remain open to new members….

It is evident that nothing that Erdogan says that reflects his extremist Islamic mindset, his hatred of Israel, antagonism toward fellow NATO member, Greece, or aspirations toward recreating the Christianity-hating Ottoman Empire, rings alarm bells in Trump’s money-hungry mind. I was delighted when Trump re-entered the White House, but after watching his utterly failed policies in the Middle East, foolish and clueless approach to conducting war against Iran, the clueless composition of his Board of Peace, his impulsiveness, stupid comments about Syria and its Islamic extremist leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa being more capable than Israel of stopping the conflict in Lebanon, I regard him an intellectually limited individual. His arrogance and egomania blinds him to his ignorance of Islam and the threat it poses to free societies. This initiative of being independent of the US militarily is great, as the example of Israel has shown. But the very presence of Turkey is a good reason why Israel and Armenia, which have pretty good reasons to be members of such a group, aren’t in it. Otherwise, one could ask: why are those two countries not in it. How about Ukraine, which has been getting nothing from the US since that Trump-Zelanskyy blowout, but which has, w/ its own homegrown drones as well as military support from EU countries, taken the war to Moscow and St Petersberg, and is for the first time looking like it could end up winning the war

Maybe Trump should withhold the F-35s from Turkey in response. Unfortunately he only sees the F-35 sale as a means to make money for the US and to ease our balance of trade.
