It is striking that any Christian in Nigeria could ever have supported a Muslim-Muslim ticket in elections, given the ongoing Muslim genocide in Nigeria against Christians. Yet many did in 2023, when Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, both Muslims, won office for the All Progressive Congress with a total of 8.8 million votes. Much of Tinubu’s support was said to have come from the Southwest, which is quite evenly divided between Christians and Muslims. Barely 24 hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced Vice president Kasim Shettima as his running mate for the 2927 election, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Niger state Hon Jonathan Vatsa has reacted to the development, saying that another Muslim-Muslim ticket will not have a place in 2027.
Vatsa categorically stated that the repeat of the 2023 Muslim-Muslim ticket by President Tinubu and the party is a direct insult on Christians community in the country, stressing that “I think this is a grevious mistake by the APC to have allowed this, it is highly insensitive”.
The former commissioner for Information Culture and Tourism in the state in a statement in Minna on Saturday pointed out that whoever advised the President and the APC to repeat the same Muslim-Muslim ticket for the forthcoming elections did not mean well for the President and the APC, adding that “the situation in 2023 is different from what is on ground right now”.
According to him, the President and the ruling party have shot themselves on the leg, saying that “with the current situation in the country, and the insinuations of Christians genocide all over the world about Nigeria, nobody expect the President to repeat this arrangement.
“Nobody can convince the Christians community in the country to vote for APC in 2027 where other political parties have Christians as their Presidential and Vice presidential candidates, it will be a difficult sell.
“What this means is that the President and the APC have made the campaign very difficult for the Christian members of the party ahead of the elections. What do you expect us to tell the Christians community, to vote for another Muslim-Muslim ticket”, he queried…
After losing so much Christian support Bola Tinubu is now making efforts to regain trust in Christian-majority regions. He attended the Muslim-friendly Vatican for Pope Leo XIV’s May 2025 inauguration, prompting the comment from his spokesman Sunday Dare that “a Muslim president travelling to the Vatican with five bishops was a master stroke.” Note that the Roman Catholic bishops support Tinubu despite the severity of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
DEI has infected the globe. Many among Nigeria’s Church leaders, under the influence of the Vatican’s pursuit of the golden calf of DEI, have rejected any notion of a Christian/Christian ticket, even comparing it to a Muslim/Muslim ticket. Their argument is “the need to have religious balanced presidential aspirants.” In Africa, the DEI agenda is tailored to suit the culture.
Christians do not wage genocide against Muslims for being Muslim, which escapes the thinking of DEI activists.
Even many Christian youth in Nigeria, despite the fact of their coreligionists suffering under severe persecution in their country, have been indoctrinated into DEI’s “equity” ideology.
In May 2026, Pope Leo said Christians and Muslims must work together to “revive humanity.” That same month, Catholic bishops in Niger, to Nigeria’s immediate north, called on Christians and Muslims to “strengthen peace, solidarity, and mutual respect” as the Muslim community marked Eid al-Adha. Christians traditionally respect all faiths unless they are attacked first; they do not need statements advancing false moral equivalences.
Islam has an extensive history of conquest, employing many means, including immigration, deception (pretending to be friendly), and full-blown violence once subversion is at an advanced stage.
The process of conquest happens gradually, right under the noses and even with the participation of the naive in a given population. Historically, this was seen in the conquest of the Middle East, and it is still advancing across the globe, including throughout the West.
If a country such as Nigeria, which has experienced firsthand a savage jihad against Christians, can fall under the influence of the ideologies of “equity” and DEI, how far will the West need to sink before it opens its eyes?
At least some Nigerian Christian citizens are finally changing course and taking a stand against another Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2027 elections, which are set for January. It’s a start.

This looks extremely simple. Christian’s will slowly be pushed out by Muslims, and slowly killed while the Churches all say nothing to see here until they’re all gone. End of story.
All this other talk is nonsense. You’re either going to grab a gun and defend your family, or just sell them off and get what you can. Other than that, you’re gonna be wiped off the map. Nobody cares about you.

The 8.8 million votes declared for Tinubu were cooked up by the electoral body. He paid money for that result. He now has more money and power to determine the result of the coming election. It will be a contrived election.

Until just recently, Nigerian PMs *by law* were Muslim followed by Christian. Not an ideal situation, but better than it might be. But now Goodluck Jonothan was the last Christian leader–and he left office over a decade ago.

I’m a Nigerian Christian from the southwest, and I’m going to vote for Tinubu in 2027. The Nigerian trigectry is quite different from what outsiders are made to see.
In the southwest, we are progressive people who love life, education and purposeful development irrespective of whatever religion one belongs. Tinubu’s wive is a Christian pastor.
That’s the way we are in the southwest.
If the southeast ever gets power, they’ll use it against the southwest and the north even though they are predominantly Christians.
Only we Nigerians know our peculiarities.

I find it very hard to believe that any Christians in nigeria would vote for any muzzlim….even one with a Christian wife.
