The following headlines show how Turkey under Erdogan is an aggressor, but is attempting to paint Israel as such:
- Turkish journalist close to Erdogan: Turkey should become a nuclear power and consider nuking Israel
- Turkey: ‘Israel cannot live without hostility,’ warns Israel that it ‘may target it next’
- Turkish president Erdogan accuses Israel of ‘atrocities’ against Palestine and Lebanon, threatens to attack
- Russia, China, Turkey pushing for immediate end to war against Iran

At best, Erdogan is trying to further demonize and isolate the Jewish state. At worst, he is looking for an excuse to eventually attack Israel and/or to encourage other jihadist entities to attack Israel.
Erdogan’s paranoia is showing:
Israel was leading a “sneaky effort” to destabilise African countries and the Mediterranean by igniting “the fire of discord” on the ethnically-split island of Cyprus.
“These small entities, whose ambitions far exceed their size, have boarded Israel’s boat of mischief, taken on the role of Zionist subcontractors, and are pursuing some pipe dreams in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Erdogan did manage to show up his own mischief in the region. Cypriots overwhelmingly oppose Erdogan with his lack of civility, bullying and abrasive and provocative statements such as: “Turkey should have taken over all of Cyprus in unlawful 1974 invasions instead of just seizing the northern third.” Erdogan has also said of Greek Cypriot people: “Until a solution that reflects the realities of the island is reached, we will not engage with or trade with the Greek Cypriot Administration.”
Erdogan has made his own enemies, including but by no means limited to Israel, and he knows the truth: that he played his cards much smoother than Iran, despite Turkey being (under his leadership) a significant threat like the Islamic Republic of Iran. He now claims to fear retaliation from Israel. In April, Turkey stated that “Israel cannot live without hostility,” and warned that Israel “may target it next.”
“Erdogan says Israel’s attacks on Syria, Lebanon threaten Turkey too,” Reuters, June 10, 2026:
ANKARA, June 10 (Reuters) – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that Israel’s attacks on Syria and Lebanon had reached a point where they also threaten Turkey, adding Israel’s “aggression” posed a threat to the whole world and must be stopped.
NATO member Turkey has been one of the fiercest critics of Israel’s assaults on Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon, saying Israel was the biggest obstacle to regional peace. It has halted all trade with Israel and called for measures against it at international courts.
Centcom, Central Command, will be busy tonight because President Trump said we will be hitting Iran hard and we will be.
“The attacks by (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and his newtork of murder on Lebanon and Syria have brought the issue to a point where it also threatens Turkey,” Erdogan told lawmakers from his ruling AK Party in parliament, and added that Ankara’s security was tied to that of these two countries.
Erdogan also said Israel was leading a “sneaky effort” to destabilise African countries and the Mediterranean by igniting “the fire of discord” on the ethnically-split island of Cyprus….

Turkey, while under the control of this idiot, should not be a NATO member.

Turkey is now a relatively industrialized nation, has not embraced Sharia law since 1926, allows sexual deviancy in private, and recently has allowed gay pride parades. It is11th in terms of what the average income can buy. It has about 20% Kurds, 17 million, who would like their own Sharia-governed state. Turkey has the largest NATO military, about 800,000, after the United States, mostly untested except for keeping the Kurds in line.
Erdogan makes noises suggesting a return to a Caliphate with himself as Caliph yet Turkey’s citizens will not voluntarily give up the gains made under a secular government. Turkey is an example that, without the ruling law of Islam – instead, separation of religion and state – Muslims can have a reasonably sound economy.
Erdogan isn’t going to take the chance of attacking Israel alone and destroying Turkey’s economy – which destroys his future. He’s looking for partners, but not with Kurds. Without the US as a partner, Turkey is unlikely to be a valid threat to Israel and will be forced to keep spending resources to keep the Kurds in check.
The next Presidential election, given the Left’s condemnation of Israel, could make Turkey into a partnered threat. What would the EU allies be willing do if the US government was solidly leftist?
