The persecution of Christians and other religious minorities in the name of Islam is deemed “defending your religion and country” in the view of Mullah Mohammad Osman Ayubi and other jihadists like him. He sends a message of support to fellow jihadists who are wantonly slaughtering innocent people to spread the Sharia in Mali and beyond. The Taliban and other jihadist leaders in Afghanistan have been keeping a watchful eye on Mali — where the lands that are under Sharia rule are rapidly expanding by the sword — as they continue to congratulate and encourage Sharia expansion.
In the first week of May, al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadists in Mali murdered 30 people in central Mali.
This followed news less than two weeks earlier that Mali was on the brink of collapse, as it faced an existential threat. Jihad Watch reported on a rare coordinated attack in Mali from al-Qaeda affiliate Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP), and northern rebels. The attack was a major blow to Russia, as its Wagner Group mercenaries “had no intelligence about the attacks and were unable to protect major cities.” Kurdistan24 News characterized the attack as “a profound failure for Mali’s Russian-backed military junta, signalling severe regional instability.”
As jihadists rampage through Mali, they’re now collecting jizya from Christians, as the Qur’an stipulates (9:29) to enforce and demonstrate the Christians’ inferior status. The practice was ended in Muslim countries in the mid-19th century, but remains part of Islamic law; once the caliphate is restored, it will be collected in the domains of that caliphate.
“Fight against those who do not believe in Allah or the last day, and do not forbid what Allah and his messenger have forbidden, and do not follow the religion of truth, even if they are among the people of the book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.” (Qur’an 9:29)

On April 29, 2026, an Arabic-language audio message by one Mullah Mohammad Osman Ayubi, a resident of Kunar province in Afghanistan, expressing support for the mujahideen in Mali, was posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Ayubi says that the flag of Islam will once again be raised in Mali and the mujahideen will be victorious. Addressing the mujahideen of Mali, he says: “You are defending your religion and country, and we hope you will achieve your goal.”
When the jihadi organizations like Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) recently advanced toward the capital of Mali and captured some areas, supporters of the Afghan Taliban and jihadi groups in Afghanistan produced a lot of propaganda in support of these developments.
News of the situation in Mali and videos of jihadi groups were constantly circulated on social media networks. Some Taliban supporters even were seen congratulating each other saying that the Malian government will soon fall. It is in this context that the short audio message was released on X.
The one-minute 44-second message was released by “the Intellectual Structure Foundation.” Speaking in Arabic, Muhammad Osman Ayubi tells the Malian mujahideen that they have begun jihad in favor of Islam, and soon, with the blessings of the blood of their martyrs, the flag of Islam will once again be raised in the country of 11th-century leader of the Almoravid dynasty Yusuf ibn Tashfin, i.e., in Mali.
He adds that this is a message of brotherhood and love sent to the Malian mujahideen on behalf of the mujahideen nation of Afghanistan as a sign of support….

The only way that works out is if the goal is poverty. What a mess – “The written business language of Mali is primarily French, which is used for government, formal education, and business communications.” Yet in 2022 it was replaced as the official spoken language by 13 native languages.
Mali is 175th in personal income, 188th out of 193 nations for human development – live long and prosper hasn’t a chance under Islam in Mali.
