Isn’t it interesting that a group calling itself the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin) would so often engage in mass murder. Is that the preferred way to support Islam and Muslims? It certainly seems that way. And if Western political and media authorities really cared about “Islamophobia,” shouldn’t they be going after groups such as this one, which make people associate Islam with violence and bloodlust, rather than going after people who simply call attention to jihadist atrocities and report accurately about their motivating ideology? Of course they should — if, that is, the entire “Islamophobia” initiative weren’t a scam meant to intimidate people into fearing to oppose jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women.
“Armed fighters kill at least 30 people in attacks in central Mali,” Al Jazeera, May 7, 2026:
Dozens of people have been killed in attacks reportedly carried out by al-Qaeda-affiliated fighters in central Mali, the deadliest assault since armed groups launched a widespread coordinated assault late last month.
According to local, security and administrative sources speaking to the AFP news agency on Thursday, attacks on the villages of Korikori and Gomossogou in the Mopti region killed at least 30 people a day earlier. Three sources – including an aid worker, a diplomat and a security source – separately told the news agency Reuters that the assailants had hit two unnamed localities in Mopti, killing at least 50 on Wednesday.
The latest attacks come a day after armed fighters stormed the Kenieroba Central Prison, a recently built complex about 60km (37 miles) southwest of Bamako, which houses 2,500 prisoners, including at least 72 inmates considered “high value” by the Malian state.
Mali was shaken by a wave of attacks since April 25 and 26, when the al-Qaeda-linked group Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) joined forces with the Tuareg-dominated rebel group Azawad Liberation Front (FLA)….
Goita appeared on state television on April 28 and said the situation in Mali is under control….
Yeah, sure. Sell me a bridge, buddy.

Could it be that those who follow the old ways of violent jihad, attacking villages in Mali or killing farmers in the Republic of the Congo are just stupid, badly educated, people with the same gang attitude found in so many Western large cities or that found in organized crime?
We aren’t seeing this behavior in Egypt, the UAE, or other Muslim nations where there is a higher level of education and world awareness. Could it be that Islam was created for a simple-minded populace in a more brutal era, promising carnal rewards to men if they died in securing booty for the ummah and if they lived through a successful raid, personal booty and sex slaves in this life?
Let’s imagine this in today’s modern setting – a recruitment video of young Arabs with attack helicopters, tanks, and sophisticated personal weapons, doing a mop-up operation of a small city, carrying away the young women, cleaning out the banks, searching the houses for loot, loading trucks with booty, women, and killing the rest of the “enemy”. The narrator intones, “This could be your exciting future in the jihad corps. Join up now!”
Early violent jihad Islam seems like a regional earth-scaled version of invaders from the movie, “Independence Day”, a parasite, living off the vanquished.
Saudi Arabia and Egypt would not prosper today with violent jihad to gain wealth – the old ways – yet are burdened with its legacy.
Iran made a poor choice since 1979 to continue on with the old ways, a variation of paying mercenaries while squandering its oil wealth for a nuclear weapon to have a deterrent, extortion means on the Saudis, and the power to eliminate Israel. This has made Iran an embarrassment to modern Islam, a threat to oil wealth, and to Israel. The result was inevitable and delayed far too long.
Islam’s past violent jihad is likely an embarrassment for the more advanced and educated Muslim nations, particularly those who have enormous wealth or sophisticated economies. Being a Muslim from birth is an inescapable inheritance.
It seems that violent jihad in the modern era is by dummies and its acceptance is by dhimmis.

I find it interesting that none, or an infinitesimally few, of these educated, enlightened Muslims you refer to have made any comment regarding: FGM , dehumanizing abuse of women, the multitude of of verses, regarding the worst of people, unbelievers, pigs, apes, Etc and the accompanying exhortations to strike them in their neck, kill them, Etc and the totalitarian mindset that encompasses their holy book.
Salmon Rushdie, Charlie Hebdo staff, 11 people, Samuel Paty, and Marshal Khan dared to step afoul of Muslim sensibilities and were all killed, with Rushdie surviving, but losing an eye in an attempted murder.
How can a thinking, educated person support an ideology that espouses such barbaric positions?
