As the Islamic Republic of Iran continues its brutal crackdown on protesters, it has now been reported that the regime has murdered over 36,000 of its citizens. This is the end result of a citizen challenge to an authoritarian government.
Iranian regime forces are in some cases shooting citizens point-blank in the head. The report below highlights the extent of the regime’s brutality, while Iran continues to try to conceal the truth from the world through an internet shutdown that’s nearing 20 days. It’s recorded as “one of the most extensive internet shutdowns ever, with an “estimated 92 million citizens are cut off from the internet.”
The U.S. Department of State has announced a reward of up to $15 million for information that could stop the money flow of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps:
The IRGC targets Iranians at home and individuals abroad with its violent attacks.
Help us disrupt this terrorist group. https://t.co/GRmOxGpjWA pic.twitter.com/Y5BIUdGEUB— Rewards for Justice (@RFJ_USA) January 26, 2026
Meanwhile, Iran’s currency is now at 1.5 million rials to $1 USD. Before the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, it was 70 rials to the dollar. And now the country faces the possibility of American intervention.
The mood is described as tense, as the US “has announced plans to hold multi-day military exercises in the Middle East as it deploys what Donald Trump has called an ‘armada’ led by the USS Abraham Lincoln to the region as part of a tense standoff with Iran.”
“Disappeared bodies, mass burials and ‘30,000 dead’: what is the truth of Iran’s death toll?,” by Tess McClure and Deepa Parent, Guardian, January 27, 2026:
On Thursday 8 January, in a midsize Iranian town, Dr Ahmadi’s* phone began to buzz. His colleagues in local emergency wards were getting worried.
All week, people had taken to the streets and had been met by police with batons and pellet guns. With treatment, their injuries should not have been too serious. But emergency room staff believed many wounded young people were avoiding hospitals, terrified that registering as trauma patients would lead to their identification and arrest.
Quietly, Ahmadi [who remains anonymous due to fear of reprisals, but whose identity, credentials and presence within Iran during the unrest have been verified by the Guardian] and his wife began treating patients at a location outside Iran’s government hospital system. Alerted by a local whisper network, wounded young people flocked to them. Mostly, they brought superficial injuries – laceration wounds needing stitches and antibiotics. As Thursday evening wore on, more and more arrived to be patched up.
The next day, everything abruptly changed. Protesters kept coming, but their injuries were close-range gunshots and severe stab wounds, typically to the chest, eyes and genitals. Many proved fatal.
Ahmadi was shocked by the number being killed – more than 40 in his small town alone – but with the internet blacked out, no one knew what the national picture was. To piece it together, Ahmadi assembled a network of more than 80 medical professionals across 12 of Iran’s 31 provinces to share observations and data, and to build a clearer picture of the violence….
“US offers up to $15 million in rewards for information that leads to capture of IRGC-linked vessels,” by Tobias Holcman, Jerusalem Post, January 26, 2026:
The US Department of State is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information that would lead to the identification of entities involved in oil sales conducted by the IRGC.
The US Department of State is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information that would lead to the identification of entities or individuals involved in oil sales conducted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Farsi-language Rewards for Justice X/Twitter account shared on Monday.
“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) generates revenue for its terrorist activities through various illegal activities, including the sale and transfer of Iranian oil, which is sanctioned,” says the graphic shared by the official US government account….

Iran is already under top sanctions, and nothing that the US does is gonna prevent Russia or China from dealing w/ Iran. So this $15 million reward is worthless, aside from enriching some people. The only thing that would make sense would be to bomb the IRGC bases and everything until the regime falls. I doubt that they’re trying to do a Maduro on Khamenei
Similarly, the US shouldn’t target Iran’s oil facilities or assets that the Iranian people will need once the regime falls. Just target the regime itself, let it fall, and then negotiate w/ the transitional and future governments about acceptable policies on anything, particularly w/ Iran’s foreign policy. But how Iranians deal w/ the islamic republicans – leave that up to them

The U.S. can stop the export of Iranian oil with a naval blockade. Kharg Island terminal, in the Persian Gulf accounts for about 90% of Iran’s exports of crude and Kharg can simultaneously fill 10 VLCC’s. Port Assaluyeh handles natural gas condensate. Bandar Mahshahr terminal handles refined products. More recently, Iran developed its Jask terminal in the Gulf of Oman, to bypass the Strait of Hormuz for its crude oil, but the U.S. Navy can easily blockade this terminal as well. Almost all of Iran’s petroleum exports go to China. And due to sanctions on Iran, China gets very favorable discounts. The Chinese angle will probably dictate whether the US is really intent on blockading Iran.
It is ironic that California will be increasing its gasoline imports from China during this time. California passed a law a while back requiring thst all gasoline sold in California had to be CARB, supposedly low polluting oxygenated blend. Now that Chevron and Valero have closed their refineries in California, Imported CARB from India, South Korea and China will have to make up the difference. Right now, most jet fuel consumed in California comes from China. I hope the $12 a gallon gasoline price will doomNewsom and his Democrats in future elections. But, the brain dead California voters probably like paying $12 a gallon for gasoline and will not give it up in the name of for Curtailing air pollution.

A few months ago, I was an advocate of shutting down Kharg. But now, since this regime looks poised to fall, I’m against doing anything that’ll damage Iranian infrastructure, which the Iranians will need to recover once the regime falls. They’ll need to have their currency recover, they’ll need to work on stemming the environmental damage that country is undergoing, they’ll need to solve their water crisis, they’ll need to determine where to have a new capital and so on. Given all of that, I’m against those anti-regime moves that will hurt the Iranian people. Instead, maybe impound all the oil going out of there, or ensure that its proceeds go not to the regime but to, maybe, the transitional authority that Pahlavi is putting together
As for California, I saw a poll where the top 2 candidates are Republicans. If that can sustain itself in June, then finally Californians can choose b/w sane candidates, while the Open Primary concept, which so long bit Republicans in the hiney, will now bite Dems there. I am rooting for Steve Hilton, although I’d be fine w/ Chad Bianco as well

I am on your wavelength with respect to not wanting to hurt the Iranian people. Your idea of seizing Iranian oil and putting the proceeds of its sale into trust for the next Iranian government for the benefit of the people needs to be effected very soon. The money has to be earmarked for first fighting the drought by building water infrastructure, and getting the 30%+ of the impoverished Iranians back to work.
You wouldn’t believe this, but the U.S. has had past presidents that have unfrozen accounts of the Iranian regime that were frozen since 1978, and turned over their control to the Mullahs. One even gave them pallets full of US currency to the tune of $1 billion, if Iran promised to stop enrichment of uranium for military purposes.

Biden and Obama gave billions to Iran for their deceitful promises and to pay off their proxies who terrorize the world.
Great leftist useful idiots who think that if Israel is eliminated they will no longer hate us.
These actions fed the beast and has caused thousands of deaths.

Not to worry — Trump has their back.

Trump appears to know what he’s doing in Iranian waters, however, he falls flat on his face in Syria by backing down, Al Sharaa is his buddy, therefore, betray the Kurds. Thinking GAZA can become the French Riviera and disarming Hamas is taken for granted, Trump, Kushner, and Witkoff have blinders on, know nothing about the history of Islam, nothing about the totalitarian, terrorist, Islamic goals Muslims have, to entrapped and entice morons, push for Sharia control in America.

If they do nothing in Iran after sending in that carrier group, they’ll look beyond ridiculous. So far, they’ve only looked callous

Give me the 50 million dollars I have your answer. They load it up on an oil dock and onto a ship to China. Go and steal their ships and they’re broke. End of story!
I have a friend who swings on Iran’s nuts. He will jump on any nuts that oppose Israel and totally ignore everything else. That’s been the tucker and Candace effect and now these people don’t want to vote.
Tell em they aren’t working. For them leftists .

I voted for Trump from the beginning and am grateful for all he is doing. His success may be short lived though. He has betrayed the Kurds, the Persian people ( that might change but prophecy is that Iran will be aligned with Turkey and other countries in the final war against Israel), he has greatly supported Israel but in some big ways betraying them. Alliance with Qutar,Syria and especially Turkey is blindsided. I can see the tide turning one day and the democrats back in power reversing all he has done and the powers that be taking up revengeful unjust, unlawful tactics.
Anyone who hurts Israel has it coming to them. One day all nations will turn against Israel and Christianity too. The woman rides the beast then the beast does violence to her in Revelation 17. Progressives and Islam doesn’t adhere anymore than iron and clay. Progressives are idiots and Islam is evil.
