ICE detains UK ‘journalist’ suspected of Muslim Brotherhood connections, he now faces deportation

Although the Guardian reports that ICE detained Sami Hamdi “after criticism of Israel on US tour,” much more than that was involved. “ICE detains British journalist after criticism of Israel on US tour | US immigration,” by Michael Sainato, Guardian, October 26, 2025:

The British journalist Sami Hamdi was reportedly detained on Sunday morning by federal immigration authorities at San Francisco international airport, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (Cair) says that action is apparent retaliation for the Muslim political commentator’s criticism of Israel while touring the US.

A statement from Cair said it was “a blatant affront to free speech” to detain Hamdi for criticizing Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza while he engaged on a speaking tour in the US. A Trump administration official added in a separate statement that Hamdi was facing deportation.

“Our attorneys and partners are working to address this injustice,” Cair’s statement said. The statement also called on US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “to immediately account for and release Mr Hamdi”, saying his only “‘crime’ is criticizing a foreign government” that Cair accused of having “committed genocide”.

The press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, Tricia McLaughlin, wrote of Hamdi in a social media post: “This individual’s visa was revoked, and he is in ICE custody pending removal.”..

If mere criticism of Israel caused ICE to target Hamdi, ICE would have time for nothing else. Think about it: all across America and other Western countries, hordes of disruptive pro-Hamas demonstrators wave their Palestinian flags and slam Israel.

Qatar-owned Al Jazeera went further, blaming the “pro-Israel lobby” for Hamdi’s arrest, while the unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas funding case, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), accused ICE of a “kidnapping.” According to the European Palestinian Council, “Hamdi had spoken the previous day at an event organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Sacramento, California. CAIR confirmed in a statement that his arrest prevented him from attending another of their events in Florida on Sunday.” No wonder CAIR is frothing at the mouth. The day of its own accountability may be looming.

There is a reason for the scathing reaction to Hamdi’s detainment from certain corners. The truth about why Hamdi was actually detained wasn’t about his criticism of Israel, as has been absurdly suggested. It is explained by Amy Mek:

 

Hamdi’s detainment follows the recent report that Texas Rep. Chip Roy and other House Republicans are pushing for a long overdue bill to prohibit the Sharia and deport Sharia-adherent aliens.

  1. He is not a citizen of the U.S., so he is not protected by the First Amendment’s promise of “free speech.”

    Furthermore, some “speech” against the government is not allowed. Deport him and all like him to wherever these scum can be sent. The mb want to ‘destroy’ the U.S. government and replace it with the so-called law of islime. Calling for this is not ‘free speech.’

    Enough is enough. and in the case of muzzies, enough is too much.

    If only Mr. Rubio and the others with authority could find a way to deport all members of cair….a terror-supporting mob.

    • I am tired of the Muslims treated so good when all they do is harm everyone. He belongs in jail and get the electric chair. All he does is harm and harm but just send him to another country to do the same thing. Our government is acting very foolish and I wonder why. Our government certainly gives them plenty of money, very stupid of them. They have made sure the middle class has to do without. They did nothing when they were stealing from stores so the stores had to raise prices on the law abiding people and that is what happened. Remember the police were ordered to stand back and let it happen.Now we have so many of the terrorists in America they are running for office and there are plenty of them to vote for them. Changes need to be made in our government as to many of them are lying and I was told they have a right to lie as much as they want.

    Muslims make false claims and deceitful exaggerations, breed a grievance mentality, and aggravate divisions among people in a manner that allows for justification of terroristic violence(Qur’an 3:28,54; 7:99; 8:30, etc.). Allah in Qur’an 49:15 says, “Surely the believers[Muslims] are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed jihad with their MONEY and their LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” As a result, Non-Muslims are marked for death by Islam and its Muslims. Allah stirs hatred against Christians until the resurrection day when Qur’an 5:14 instructs, “And some of those who say, ‘Surely we are Nasara (Christians),’ we took their covenant. So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up ENMITY and HATRED among them until the resurrection day.     Allah demands extortion payments from Non-Muslims to humiliate them and make Islam supreme. Allah in Qur’an 9:29 commands, “Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid, nor believe in the religion of the truth among those who have given the book until they pay the jizyah out of hand and they are subdued.”

    Allah in Qur’an 4:101 says, “…Surely the infidels(Non-Muslims) were your clear enemies.” Allah disrespects and detests Jews and Christians for not being Muslims by teaching discrimination and segregation. So, Allah’s apostle in Sahih Muslim 26:5389 says, “Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to the narrowest part of it[where excrement and trash flow].”

    According to a statement by Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council (CMPAC) dated February 12, 2024, Hamdi was part of a “Palestine advocacy solidarity events” series scheduled for February 9–11, 2024, of which one event at Concordia University was abruptly cancelled.

    The CMPAC statement says the event had been previously approved by Concordia but was “abruptly cancelled … due to pressure by anti-Palestinian groups.”

    • What does “genocide” have to do with deporting a non-citizen who openly supports terrorism and terrorist action? What is fascist about that ,he is not granted a visa or has his visa revolt because he is encouraging international terrorism ?If someone a non-Moslem went to that area of Gaza and starting talking openly about supporting America or American action in the Middle East they would be shot in the head by Hamas and dumped in a ditch ,that is fascist .They would not bother with simply forcing him to leave the country. Shooting people in the head without trial is standard operating procedure when you have Hamas controlling and terrorizing their own fellow Moslems in the Gaza. Hamas stealing food and other supplies entering Gaza ,using schools ,hospitals ,women ,children as human shields that is standard operating procedure with Hamas.

Locking people up in the Gaza strip for 20+ years, and the continued occupation by the IOF since 1948, leads to unwanted consequences. Refugees must have right of return. Otherwise this cycle of violance and revenge will continue as a vicious cycle. The West Bank has now also been annexed which was already the case in all but name. With regards to the summary executions by Hamas yes it is regretable, however in war summary executions of traitors serving the occupying forces is common…see the treatment of spies and traitors by the French Resistance during WWII. However all pales in significance with the sheer barbarism and lack of decency shown by the IOF vis a vis the Palestinia.The duplicity and double standards by West with respect to free speech rights is also appalling.Not suprised however given the grip on power the zionist lobby has in the US and Europe. We the citizens of the Global South will never let them forget what the Palestinians, Aid Workers in Gaza have had to suffer all these years. The ICC arrest warrants will also never go away.

Israel gave Gaza back to the “Palestine ” Moslems in 2006 they rush in and burned down all the buildings ,greenhouses warehouses the Israelis build .They rip out the sewage and water pipes the Israelis left there made them into home made missiles and lunched them at Israelis over that last 19 years as their own people many time lack running water with sewage running in the streets. They elected a terrorist government Hamas ,they then hatched a cowardly terrorist attack against Israeli villages near the Gaza border on Oct.,7.2023 and Israel retaliated .If Israel wanted to they could kill everyone ,every man women child in Gaza ,that is not their goal they have shown restrain .What the F are citizens of the global south ? Is that the Moslems nations of the “global south”? All nations south of the equator ? Nations you claim to represent ,could you name the nations .Are some NATOs nations in it ?
