Should the world be shocked over Israel’s attack on Qatari soil?

Israel’s attack on Qatari soil was indeed a shock to the world, but should it have been? Let’s first look at some reaction to Israel’s strike against senior Hamas leaders on Qatar’s soil, which is said to have killed five Hamas members but not its top leaders. The New York Times has wasted no time in an article that struck at the heart of America’s relationship with Israel, suggesting that America risks alienating Gulf “powers” over Israel’s actions. Once again, the leftist NYT prioritizes Islamic interests over American and Israel’s. “Israel’s Attack on Qatari Soil Leads Gulf Powers to Question U.S. Protection,” by Vivian Nereim, New York Times, September 10, 2025:

Qatar hosts the largest American military base in the Middle East, has bought billions of dollars worth of defense systems from the United States and recently gifted a luxury Boeing jet to President Trump.

Yet on Tuesday, none of that stopped Israel, a key U.S. ally, from launching a brazen military attack on Qatari soil. It was an attempt to assassinate senior Hamas officials who had gathered to discuss a cease-fire proposal to pause the war in Gaza — a deal that was backed by Mr. Trump.

“Qatar being unable to protect its own citizens with literally the U.S. Central Command on its territory has prompted locals to question the value of the American partnership,” said Kristin Diwan, a senior resident scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, a research group. “It’s a real problem for Gulf leaders. And it should worry the United States as well.”…..

It is high time that Muslim countries be more worried about their relations with America than the other way around.

Trump posted on his Truth Social account:

Qatar is not a genuine ally and friend to the US. It is, along with Turkey, a leading supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB). In fact, it is a financial backer of MB infiltration of America at the highest levels, as well as on campuses. Qatar continues to provide one of the largest sources of funding at American universities, which has a severe detrimental impact upon their culture and climate by “fomenting growing levels of antisemitic discourse and campus politics at US universities, as well as growing support for anti-democratic values within these institutions of higher education.” Qatar is dedicated to jihad; that poses an extreme danger to America’s values, stability, national security, and to the survival of Israel as a nation. To expect Qatar to negotiate a so-called “peace” in Gaza is a stark case of the fox guarding the henhouse.

Meanwhile, America’s neighbor Canada joined Qatar in condemning the Israeli attack on Qatari soil. Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney called it “an intolerable expansion of violence and an affront to Qatar’s sovereignty.”

As expected, the UN has also condemned Israel:

When the shock of Israel’s attack on Qatari soil wears off, one hopes that more leaders in the West will  come to their senses. Hamas documents have also shown deep ties and coordination between Qatar and Hamas.

Last month, Azmi Bishara, a senior advisor to Qatar’s Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, spoke out against calls for normalization between Israel and Arab countries, especially Syria. He warned Syria that normalization with Israel is “poison,” and that giving up the Golan Heights reflects weakness. Bishara, who was a former member of the Israeli Knesset, who defected to Qatar in 2007 after being suspected of spying for Hizballah, “is now a prominent figure in Doha’s decision-making circles” and media.

According to the Counter Extremism Project, the Muslim Brotherhood “has had a profound influence on the belief system that fuels al-Qaeda and ISIS. These groups share ideological underpinnings based on the writings of the late Brotherhood ideologue Sayyid Qutb.”

The collaborations between Qatari media and the Islamic scholars of the country are fully exposed in the article HERE. Last month, journalists, influencers, and Islamic scholars in Qatar disdainfully opposed a United Nations call to disarm Hamas. They also rebuffed the idea of the termination of Hamas’ rule in the Gaza Strip, and refused to condemn Hamas’ October 7 Al-Aqsa Flood jihad massacre. In fact, Qatar joined Iran to condemn Israel’s occupation as a cause for October 7, on the actual day that Israeli citizens were being savaged.

Documents found in Gaza have also shown a Hamas-Qatar coordination against Trump’s peace plan. And as reported by the Jerusalem Post in April:

Qatari deputy prime minister and defense affairs minister Sa’oud bin Abd Al-Rahman Al Thani this week posted and quickly deleted a Twitter/X post in support of Hamas: “We Are all Hamas… Oh Al-Quds, revolt and commemorate Al-Qassam!”

Rather than such news sparking an urgency in the West to unite against the forces of jihad, the willful blindness continues. Ignoring the threat will not make it go away. It will intensify amid the prevailing apathy.

It has become typical for leftist politicians and media appeasers such as the New York Times et al to put Islamic interests above America’s, not only as it pertains to foreign affairs, but domestically as well. Israel is also expected to appease, and is never given any benefit of the doubt. The New York Times also issued warnings about the fallout from the Israeli attack on Hamas operatives on Qatari soil:

“This is a litmus test,” said Bader Al-Saif, an assistant professor of history at Kuwait University. If Gulf rulers “don’t do anything forceful now, they will only be part of an Israeli orbit of power and an Israel-led regional order.”

The fossil-fuel rich Gulf countries —Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain — have become increasingly ambitious in recent years, using their vast wealth to garner influence around the world. Combined, the countries control roughly $4 trillion of assets in their sovereign wealth funds, and several of them have substantial sway over global energy markets.

“Netanyahu himself declared that he will reshape the Middle East,” Sheikh Mohammed said on Tuesday. “Is this a message that he also intends to reshape the Gulf?”

To leftists, every free society in the West must appease Islam and Muslims, presumably to keep the peace. But this approach is precisely what emboldens Islamic supremacists and threatens the very existence of the Jewish state.

In a different take on Israel’s attack in Doha, the New York Post stated that “the attack had huge value: Hamas’ chiefs thought they had safe refuge in Qatar — far from the fighting and squalor in Gaza. They lived lives of luxury in five-star hotels, reportedly sitting on an $11 billion stash, even as Gaza civilians suffered. They could turn down cease-fire deals with no fear of personal consequences, especially since Qatar is a US ally. Now any who survived must know that fear.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a US Embassy event in Jerusalem:

The days are over when terror leaders will enjoy immunity in a particular place… Our enemies must know one thing — since the creation of Israel, the blood of Jews is not cheap!…the Hamas leaders were meeting in the exact place where they celebrated on October 7, 2023, while Hamas was still carrying out the slaughter inside Israel.

Stealth and violent jihadists combine to deceive, manipulate (including the use of extreme propaganda), cast fear, and finally to dominate and conquer territories one at a time. It’s high time they be stopped.

  1. If Qatar refrained from harboring the Gaza War masterminds, I assure you that Israel would not have dropped bombson or breached Qatari terratory. Doing so, made these terrorists fair game for elimiation.

    As I’ve said before, Qatar doesn’t have the guts to declare war on Israel over this!

  2. Qatar plays both ends to the middle and they always have. They’re Islamic and they know how to take lying to the Zen level. And the leaders of Hamas are living it up away from the war they started with Israel. I actually expect there will be another attack and the next time they will kill the leaders.

  3. I congratulate Israel for bombing that building in Qatar, and they should give President Trump the 🖕 when he says he’s not thrilled about Qatar being attacked. This is a rogue country for so many reasons:

    ⮞ They are the #1 backer of the muslim brotherhood, which is why in 2018, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Bahrein and Egypt decided to sanction them. At that time, Trump showed some semblance of sanity by verbally supporting the Saudis, but State & Pentagon were more obsessed w/ the al-Udeid base than about US interests being protected. But those Arab countries were right: Qatar was the sole power cooperating w/ both Turkey and Iran, and providing both money w/ which to do jihad, something the other 4 had abandoned for various reasons I won’t get into here
    ⮞ Like Fuckistan in the war in Afghanistan, they know how to play both sides of the war: pretending to be on our side while being the main backer of the jihadists. How does anyone forget that Osama’s go-to channel the days following 9/11 was al-Jazeera: he didn’t go to al-Arabiya or any of the other news organizations of other countries, like Saudi Arabia or Egypt. In 2017, President Trump, in his Riyadh summit, managed to convince a lot of muslim countries to end their support for jihad and stop indoctrinating their kids & youth in it. A number of countries cooperated – Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Oman…. Qatar doesn’t seem to have changed. Tabhlighi Jamaat is banned in Saudi Arabia and Emirates, but not in Qatar
    ⮞ When it came to negotiating w/ the Taliban, again Qatar was the choice of the latter. Remember that in 2000, only 3 countries recognized the previous Taliban regime – Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Emirates. All 3 dropped that once the war started (although Pakistan, as I pointed out, played both sides, like Qatar does). Qatar is the only one that is trusted by the Taliban: what does that tell one about them?
    ⮞ When the Abraham Accords were signed by Emirates and Bahrein, a number of Arab leaders indicated a willingness to follow suit eventually. There were a few exceptions amongst the Arabs – Qatar, Kuwait, Yemen, Algeria. Qatar’s love for Hamas wouldn’t allow them
    ⮞ All the Arab oil sheikhdoms have discovered productive things to do w/ their money. Saudi Arabia on the Neom project (which has its drawbacks) & a pipeline from the Gulf to the Red Sea as well as water projects, Emirates on various state-of-the-art projects, Oman too. These countries – particularly Saudi Arabia, have stopped funding dawa or jihad movements anywhere (talking here about the government, not individual Saudis like Alaweed bin Talal) and have banned Tabhlighi Jamaat in their countries. Qatar is the exception, and is funding Western schools to promote islamophilia and hatred of Jews and Hindus. They have the highest per capita GDP of all the GCC countries at $70k, followed by Emirates at a distant second at $50k and Saudi Arabia a distant third at $30k. Given their priorities, they are the biggest regional threat to infidel interests and also have an alliance w/ Turkey
    ⮞ Finally, when the Syrian civil war broke out and Hamas leaders like Khaled Mashal could no longer remain in Damascus for fear of looking like a traitor to the sunni cause, it was Qatar that ultimately took him and his pals in. Doha became the new capital of Hamas, at least presumably immune from Israel due to the stupid al-Udeid base there. Back in the day, Syria was considered rogue for hosting leaders of Hamas and islamic jihad, but in sharp contrast, other than Qatar’s local rivals 🇸🇦🇦🇪🇪🇬, no country seems to consider the al Thanis a rogue regime

    There was a very good response made by Adel al Jubeir, the Saudi foreign minister, when he was asked 3 months ago, not in 2020, about their relations w/ Qatar. I wasn’t a fan of his when he was the Saudi ambassador to DC – sometimes, he used to be an apologetic for islam, which was the policy then of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. However, here, he gave a very comprehensive description of the problems w/ Qatar, and why Riyadh has completely nothing to do w/ them

    So I’m glad that Qatar has finally been attacked, and is forced to divert some of its cash from funding jihad or promoting dawa to defending itself from its relatively moderate neighbors. So one more source of funding for our campuses hopefully getting lost

    • He had it right on them in 2019, when he endorsed the Arab boycott of Qatar. Much as I like him, I just wish he couldn’t be flattered so easily, and that too w/ a jet

  5. I believe Israel did the right thing by trying to take out the top leaders of hamas. They have to try to eliminate them It doesn’t matter where they are hiding. It also might make other countries think twice before they give such people refuge

    • Yes Qatar knew what they were doing giving these Ham Ass leaders a place to hide and operate out of. Israels attempt to cut off the head of the snake attacking them is totally understandable. The United States should consider sanctions and boycotting Qatar.

      • The US should boycott Qatar but I can’t see it happening just yet. They want to keep on the right side of Trump, they didn’t give him that jumbo jet for nothing. It was a bribe to keep in his good books. As Qatar’s true allegiance is with Ham Ass (I liked that one)

  6. If the US did it, you should be shocked. If England or any Euro country did it you should be shocked. If any country in the entire world did it, you should be shocked. But when Israel does it you are witnessing a common defense mechanism against an Arab version of a Nazi group. No shock at all but just an everyday safeguarding of the citizens of Israel.

    No. Qatar has been giving Hamas terrorists a place to hang out for a long time, and despite the pretence, they are *no* ally of ours.

  9. There was a ceasefire in place on October 6,
    Hamas started the war on October 7th.

    Hamas slaughtered Israelis and took hostages.
    Israel successfully fought a multi front war.

    Now that the Hamas leadership has been shattered, and Hamas is losing,
    Qatar comes up with an offer to broker “negotiations”.
    The stragglers of the Hamas leadership run off to their homes in Qatar
    to pretend to negotiate.

    It does not seem unreasonable to me that Israel might think that
    they are still fighting the October 7th War.

    The war Hamas started, and, Israel still wants their hostages back.

    If Qatar gives cover to the Hamas leaders that have the Israeli hostages,
    Israel will go to Qatar to kill those Hamas leaders.
