BBC rules that one of its presenters violated editorial guidelines by calling Hamas a ‘terror group’

The BBC claims that it doesn’t call Hamas a terror group because it is designated as such by third parties. But it has no problem calling foes of jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women “far right” and “Islamophobic,” even though those designations come from third parties as well.

The BBC has ruled that one of its presenters violated editorial guidelines by calling Hamas a “terror group” during a June 15 broadcast.

British newspaper The Telegraph reported on Sept. 11 that the corporation’s executive complaints unit (ECU) ruled that it was wrong to use the phrase to describe the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas is responsible for leading the Oct. 7, 2023 cross-border invasion of southern Israel and many other acts of violence against Israeli civilians over decades.

According to the ECU, the British public broadcaster does not brand organizations as “terror” or “terrorist” groups because of “due accuracy and impartiality” and instead reports that they are designated as such by third parties….

  3. Hamas is a democratically elected, peaceful, Islamic, fraternal organization. Notwithstanding that its founding charter acknowledges its mission is to obliterate Israel and its Jewish inhabitants they are mostly peaceful – except, of course, when engaging in Koranic mandated murder, rape torture jihad and terrorism – like on October 7.

  5. Why doesn’t BBC just ask to be acquired by al Jazeera or the Qatar government? They can pay them handsomely for their propaganda, which the poor British taxpayer can’t

  6. Why doesn’t the BBC and the UK just change their name to UK: new Colony of HAMAS? UK and BBC have lost their way. The UNITED STATES needs to remove all it is military bases from Britain before they also get taken over by the NEW ISLAMIC REGIME. If the the UK doesn’t kick out the MUSLIM AND ISLAMIC POPULATION the United States will have to declare them TERRORISTS as well.
    If they are not willing to fight for their culture and govt.. the UNITED STATES SHOULD NOT BE PART OF IT nor recognize anything legal (like Sharia law or the other total evil Islamics there. THANK GOD FOR THE 2nd Amendment.

  8. I just looked it up to see who the chief corporation executive of ECU in the BBC is. I was expecting to find an Abdul or Muhammad in charge but I didn’t, instead I found a Tim Davie and a Peter Johnston. Obviously two British sounding names, and obviously two radical leftards.

    Just insane. How is Hamas *not* a terror group?

    Remember when apologists were upset about supposedly tarring all Muslims with the same brush?
    Now they are enraged if all Jihad terrorists are considered terrorists…

    • Hamas is not a “terror group” because the Ministry of Truth, sorry, the BBC declares Hamas not to be a “terror group”. And what the BBC declares is The Truth® at least in the U.K..

      War is peace. We’ve always been at war with East Asia. The chocolate ration has been increased from 30g a month to 20g. And Hamas is not a terror group.

      Go figure.

  11. At least now we get a glimpse of who is buying out the controlled media. I can name 3 oil rich countries who claim to be moderate. And i hate to be a major downner, but i dont believe for one second that the Abraham Accords will bring lasting acceptance of Israel-Jews, and peace. They smile in your face, buy themselves time to screw you in the rear. AI = the last stand!

    How weak, woke and broke the left-wing media in Britain has become! But when was it much different in the past 70+ years?
    They railed on Winston Churchill at every opportunity instead of backing, supporting and standing with him, the left, called politically correct in former times are now simply the wokestream media, also called fakestream by President Trump.
    It is that same attitude that Neville Chamberlain got off his plane after meeting Hitler waving his signed agreement with the same, saying peace in our time. Nothing could have been further from the truth!
    Unfortunately, that is exactly and precisely where our so-called “leaders” are leading us down this garden path, to their imagined fairies where the fairies drink their Koolade and singing Hallelujah while being annihilated from within by Muslim terrorists.
