According to the Australian Broadcast Network, the expulsion “marks the first time Australia has expelled an ambassador since World War II.” Australia’s national security service also stated that Iran orchestrated at least two antisemitic attacks in the country. The Guardian reports that “Iran has a long history of clandestine attacks abroad to further its ends.”
The Times of Israel also warns:

It’s high time that the West stood together, not only against the Islamic Republic of Iran, but against the global jihad in general. Support for Israel, which stands on the front line in this war, is key. Australia is to be commended in its decision to expel the Iranian ambassador, Ahmad Sadeghi (along with three other Iranian officials), but on the other hand, Australia has contributed to antisemitism, given its imprudent stance in recognizing Palestinian statehood, despite the genocidal and jihadist character of the so-called “resistance.”

Australia accused Iran on Tuesday of executing two antisemitic arson attacks in the cities of Sydney and Melbourne and gave Tehran’s ambassador seven days to leave the country, its first such expulsion since the Second World War.
Since the Israel-Gaza war began in October 2023, Australian homes, schools, synagogues and vehicles have been targeted in antisemitic vandalism and arson, while Islamophobic incidents have surged.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) had gathered credible intelligence that Iran had directed at least two attacks.
“These were extraordinary and dangerous acts of aggression orchestrated by a foreign nation on Australian soil,” Albanese told a media briefing. “They were attempts to undermine social cohesion and sow discord in our community.”…
Iran had sought to “disguise its involvement” in last year’s attacks on a kosher restaurant in Sydney and the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne, Albanese said. No injuries were reported in the attacks.

It may be that the evidence unearthed by the investigators was just so absolutely compelling that it scared the sh*t out of those in authority and jolted them into action!
Incidentally, many freedom-minded Iranian expats in Australia (some of them declared apostates from Islam, who have become either atheists or Christians), will be quietly celebrating this decision; because they have had to look over their shoulders for far too long.

I thought the foreign minister looked pretty miserable when talking about it, though that’s not unusual. This leftist government are definitely part of the red green alliance. There is a limit to tolerance,even for some of the most tolerate people in the world, the Europeans, most of them generally are.
