Canary Mission gives some more background about Khaled Barakat:
.. as of February 2019, Barakat was reportedly a “Campaign Coordinator” at anti-Israel group Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network (Samidoun). Samidoun’s activism spreads awareness of terrorists, and at least three senior activists are PFLP members [pp. 23-25], including Barakat. In February 2021, the Israeli government designated Samidoun as a “terror organization,” accusing [p. 2] the NGO of operating “as an arm of the PFLP.”
As of October 2022, Barakat was “one of the founders” and the coordinator of the preparatory committee of the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement (Masar Badil), which was launched in October 2021.
In October 2022, Barakat was reportedly banned by the Netherlands, along with his wife, anti-Israel agitator Charlotte Kates, from entering the European Union (EU), and the couple were deported back to Canada. In February 2020, Barakat was reportedly deported from Germany and placed under a 4-year entry ban….
Samidoun is listed as a terrorist entity in Canada and in Israel. Khaled Barakat is the founder of Samidoun, where his wife Charlotte Kates is international coordinator. Samidoun has been organizing pro-Hamas protests across Canada, and in mid-April, it emerged that Kates was working to get Hamas removed from the UK terror list.
Barakat and his wife are well-known jihad terror activists, operating openly in the faces of Canadian authorities. The question is, how are they getting away with it?
“Designated Terrorist Khaled Barakat Of PFLP, Samidoun, And Masar Badil Lauds ‘Heroic’ Pro-Palestinian Shooter Who Targeted Washington DC Event For Jewish Professionals, Killing Two Israeli Embassy Employees: This Was Not An Isolated Act; Today’s Battle Is Not Confined To Gaza Or The West Bank – We Must Build On This Moment,” MEMRI, May 30, 2025:
On May 29, 2025, Designated Terrorist and Canadian citizen Khaled Barakat published an article on the website of his organization, Masar Badil, lauding Elias Rodriguez, the pro-Palestinian activist who targeted a Washington DC event for young Jewish professionals in a shooting attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum which killed a young couple who were employees of the Israeli Embassy.
In the article, which was also published in Arabic in the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper, Barakat praised Rodriguez for his “heroic operation”, emphasizing that “today’s battle is not confined to Gaza or the West Bank, but includes the diaspora as well”, and calling for “the forces of the resistance and their allies” to “build on this moment”, adding: “the battle is long and open to all possibilities, but clarity of vision and direction—as Rodriguez demonstrated—is the first condition for victory.”
Khaled Barakat is the founder of both Samidoun and Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, and a member of the latter’s executive committee. He has been identified by the U.S. government as a senior member of the PFLP. He is also designated terrorist by the U.S. and Canada.[1] A Canadian citizen, Barakat has been residing in Beirut for several months after being designated in Canada in October 2024.
Barakat previously expressed support for the shooting attack on his social media accounts, as did his wife and international coordinator of Samidoun, Charlotte Kates.….

A ping-pong ball tossed back and forth between non-Muslim nations. Not one of them had the common sense of tossing him over to an Arab Muslim country where he belongs. Then you have the woke authorities in Canada handing over citizenship like it was toilet paper to a terrorist. What on earth is going on?
