Pakistan (as well as Turkey) has tried to export Islamic blasphemy laws globally, in keeping with the Sharia that deems all other religions inferior.

Zuckerberg’s testimony about his experience with Pakistan is ironic, considering his own censoring of users on his platform, even banning them and putting them in “Facebook jail.”
After accusing the Biden administration of pressuring Facebook to censure its users, Zuckerberg also says he regrets bowing to Biden pressure over COVID. It’s easier for Zuckerberg to put the blame on others than to accept full responsibility for his actions, even though it’s no secret that the Biden administration was aggressive about big government censorship.
Whether Zuckerberg is truly regretful of his own past censorship of users, or he’s afraid of Trump, is an outstanding question. One hopes that he has learned lessons about the importance of the freedom of speech in upholding free societies, and that Islam is not a religion of peace, and that standing up for freedom (as Elon Musk is doing) shows character.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that he had once faced the possibility of a death sentence in Pakistan over allegations of blasphemy. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Podcast, Zuckerberg addressed the legal challenges Meta has encountered in Pakistan due to a lawsuit linked to allegedly blasphemous content on Facebook.
Reports indicate that the lawsuit accuses Facebook of hosting material that contravenes Pakistan’s strict blasphemy laws, which carry severe punishments for content deemed offensive to religious beliefs. Zuckerberg spoke about the issue while explaining Meta’s ongoing effort to balance free speech with adherence to local laws and cultural sensitivities.
“There are laws in different countries that we disagree with. For instance, at one point, someone attempted to have me sentenced to death in Pakistan because a user on Facebook had posted a drawing of Prophet Mohammed. This was considered blasphemous in their culture, leading to a lawsuit and criminal proceedings against me,” he explained.
‘No plans to visit Pakistan’
He added that he had not closely followed the case, stating, “I’m not entirely sure what happened with it, as I have no plans to visit Pakistan, so it wasn’t something I was too concerned about.”
Zuckerberg also discussed the growing regulatory pressures on technology firms worldwide….

This gives me pause to wonder if Zukerberg is truly penitent is bowing to Biden and the left or if he is an opportunist? It was interesting to see him rally around President Trump, but it could be that he actually feels a sense of freedom as provided for in the First Amendment.

And with respect to Zuckerberg, his Paki problem couldn’t have happened to a nicer person. He had to have known that the government’s pressure to coerce him into publishing their content and removing contrary content from Facebook was illegal, but he went along with it. He should have started a lawsuit against the feds for an injunction, and whch would’ve had the additional benefit of exposing their conduct.

Yeah, that’s how the whole idea of “geofencing” works. Essentially, any website can block access to itself anywhere in the world that it chooses. You might have noticed this when it comes to entertainment content: some content is made available in the US earlier than it is worldwide, and vice versa. The way this is technically even possible is geofencing
Of course, people could use VPNs to pretend that they are in a different country than where they really are, and get around it. It’s how Jihadwatch and other sites are accessed in islamic countries

If it was all due to *pressure* from biden and his gang, head gang member, bo, and he gave in, it only proves he’s a coward, but arrogant in that he ‘had no plans to visit pakistan,’ but didn’t publicize that mozlums wanted him dead for a drawing….like in France years ago when people were murdered for that same drawing.
Sorry for the long sentence, but sometimes the brain thinks long.
More than likely, he went along with the censoring because he wanted to….he had the power…but some of it came back to bite him, so the excuse that he was pressured; hence, cowardice exposed.

It seems to me that all high-tech companies were under extreme pressure by the US government to be woke. The strength and scope of federal regulation could put any company out of business. I often wondered why all high-tech companies took the same woke position. When DJT because POTUS they (not just Facebook) backed away from being woke. The US is probably closer to fascism (where the government forces compliance from large companies) than most people expect.

You shouldn’t offer your services to countries that have no respect for human rights. This idea of exporting Western values and technology to third-world goat herders is laughable at best.
Does every successful Western business really need to expand to the third-world? It’s pretty gullible to think that Facebook would be the same entity in Pakistan that it is in America or Europe.
Why don’t they tell them what they’ve always told us – if you don’t like the platform as it is, then make your own Facebook.
This will not be the last time that American corporations run head-on into reality when it comes to the Muslim world. Muslims DESPISE free speech and a free press. You WILL be pressured into creating Sharia compliant social media. Whether that happens in a place like Pakistan, or even in France or the UK. It WILL happen.
