Meanwhile, Facebook cracks down ruthlessly on opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression of women and others.
“Meta board rules anti-Israel slogan ‘From the river to the sea’ is not hate speech — despite Hamas using it to call for Jewish state’s destruction,” by Taylor Herzlich, New York Post, September 4, 2024:
Social media giant Meta declared that the antisemitic slogan, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is not hate speech — despite it calling for the destruction of Israel.
Meta’s independent Oversight Board on Wednesday ruled that users of its Facebook and Instagram apps can continue to use the phrase as long as their posts do not include other context that glorifies the terrorist group responsible for the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel or calls for violence.
Jewish groups reacted with outrage at the ruling, calling it “short-sighted” and “ill-informed” – and warning that the decision will embolden “visceral hate” targeting Jews.
Meta’s board “failed to recognize that “from the River to the Sea,” which is part of the Hamas Terrorist Organization’s Charter, is inherently genocidal and antisemitic and should constitute hate speech,” the World Jewish Congress said.
The chant has been the centerpiece of protests that have roiled college campuses around the country. The phrase has also dominated congressional hearings as Jewish college students have begged lawmakers to hold universities accountable for a massive spike in antisemitism.
The shocking decision by the 21-member board thrust Mark Zuckerberg’s company back into the forefront of the free speech debate.
Meta infamously blocked then-President Donald Trump’s account following the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots and censored The Post’s coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
Last week, Zuckerberg admitted that Meta caved to pressure from the Biden-Harris administration to remove posts about COVID-19 that included “humor and satire.”
Meta’s arbiters of free speech, however, decided not to bow when it comes to “from the river to the sea” — a call for a Palestinian state stretching across the land between the Jordan River and Mediterranean that is home to Israel.
“While Meta’s VR may be able to magically create a new Jewish homeland for users, I doubt Hamas will do the same for the Israeli people,” Assemblyman Sam Berger (D-Queens) told the Post.
The board looked at three cases in which users reported posts using the phrase and ruled that they did not break Meta’s hate speech rules because they did not explicitly call for violence against Jewish or Israeli people — despite it explicitly calling for the end of Israel.
“Instead, the three pieces of content contain contextual signals of solidarity with Palestinians,” the board said….

Being Jewish himself you’d think Mark Zuckerberg would be a strong supporter of his own race, but he isn’t, he’s a traitor. I don’t know if it’s still going but there was a Facebook site called, “Death to Israel”

Facebook just keeps proving how out of touch it is with the real world.
Facebook will be saying that Nazi’s were just misunderstood.
Thus… let me at this then,
FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA PALESTINE WILL NEVER BE.

Another of the near endless fatal mistakes Israel has made is not “fighting fire with fire”. From the beginning they should have stated ISRAEL is the land “Between the River and the Sea” (including Gaza) and JORDAN is the “palestinian” state. This was determined over 100 years ago in the Partition Plan of 1922. The map wills show the Arabs (“palestinians” got the majority of the land originally destined to be Israel. Israel’s refusal to declare this at every opportunity is truly pathological.

Zucker is the German word for Sugar and Berg is the German word for Mountain, so Sugarmountain is Jess,s name in German…. Jesse Sugarmountain.
When I see muslims using Facebook and Whatsapp to spew their vile hatred of Jews I ask the question …is there a word in Arabic for irony as Whatsapp was invented by an Israeli guy in Tel Aviv who then sold it to a Jewish guy that owns Facebook and lives in California.
So if Facebook and Whatsapp didn’t exist then where oh where could morons like muslims have the chance to inform us all of their ignorance and basic stupidity.

Exactly! Why do people waste their time on Facebook or META or whatever it’s called. Get off now! Close your account. As long as people still use these sites, they will exist to spew hatred of God’s creation. I really enjoy not being a slave to these sites.

If a muslim says that then it is not a hate speech, but if a non muslim says that, it will be a hate speech because it reveal that the muslims want to annihilate the Jews.
I really hate Suckerberg

From the River to the Sea, should be Israel. And not a muslim Islamic follower in sight.
