Nothing could be less mysterious than this man’s motive, but job one for the establishment media is to ensure that no one have any reason for thinking ill of Islam. Hence the ever-witless Daily Mail and its more respectable colleagues all engage in this charade.
Also, the Daily Mail is (characteristically) wrong about the meaning of “Allahu akbar.” It means “Allah is greater,” that is, greater than your god. It does not mean “God is greatest.”
More on this story. “Knife-wielding attacker screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’ and ‘long live Palestine’ murders Swiss tourist by slicing her throat in front of her terrified children at Algerian cafe,” by Miriam Kuepper, Daily Mail, October 24, 2024:
A knife-wielding attacker screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’ has murdered a Swiss tourist by slicing her throat in front of her terrified children at an Algerian cafe.
The Swiss woman, who has not been named, died on October 11 in the holiday resort of Djanet, southern Algeria, after she was attacked while sitting on the terrace of the Scanner cafe, located in the city centre, with her children and a friend.
The attacker, reportedly a young man from northern Algeria, slit the woman’s throat, and she was quickly taken to hospital, where she lost a lot of blood and later died, according to Swiss broadcaster RTS.
While his motive was not known, the broadcaster reported that the man had shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ (‘God is greatest’) and ‘Long live Palestine’ during the attack….
The man had also reportedly attempted to attack another group of tourists at a market shortly before the deadly attack, but had been pushed back.
The attacker had reportedly arrived in Djanet six months ago and was dressed as a ‘Tuareg’ – a nomadic ethnic group of people who live in the Sahara and surrounding areas….
Algeria suffered through a decade of civil war in the 1990s following the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS)’s victory in the country’s first ever multi-party municipal elections.
The FIS, which had vowed to establish an Islamic state, clashed with security forces, triggering the war that would go on to claim tens of thousands of lives, with many of the deaths blamed on Islamist groups.

The daily mail is just toeing the party line. After all they dont want to upset the UK’s Prsident and national religious leader Sadiq Khan

God is great God is greatest. Splitting hairs those that shout either are fanatics. The piece obviously written by a socialist.

Important point here is that “allah” (I do an orthographic jihad on islam by not capitalizing terms like “allah”, “islam”, “muslim” & so on) is not the mere Arabic word for “God”, and shouldn’t be translated as such. It’s the named deity of islam, not just in Arabic but in any language. There have been stories here in jihadwatch in the past like in Malaysia, where Malay speaking Christians get into trouble for calling their God “allah”. In Bangladesh, muslims still use the term “allah” even though that’s not a Bengali word
The context of this war cry “allahu akbar” is important. The fact that it means “allah is greater is significant: greater than what? Greater than deities of other faiths, be it Christ, Vishnu, Ahura Mazda, Tengri and so on. Essentially, it’s a chant of mockery at best, to confrontation at worst, of non-muslims
Mike says
Allah clearly isn’t greater than the Jewish God Yahweh (also known as Hashem or Adonai), if he is not the same Deity.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
He’s certainly not the same deity. Did Yahweh ever pay such close attention to the personal needs and desires of one man – Muhammad?

Daily Mail is overrated. I see too many people on the Right getting enamored by this British tabloid, but my rule of thumb for news about any country is to rely on local media in that country. So it would be something like the various US media outlets for the US, something like JNS for news about Israel, OpIndia for India and so on
I’d only follow British papers like “The Telegraph” for news about Britain, if I was so interested. I was interested in GBNews for a while, until they let go of Dan Whitton and Lawrence Jones. Now, I just look at tweets from Tommy Robinson and Paul Golding for my British news. In fact, come to think of it, Twitter is the best place for news about anywhere, since you have locals from any place providing you w/ pictures or clips of incidents in those countries

The Far left ‘Establishment’ have just incarcerated Tommy Robinson on a flimsy charge of contempt of court, for 18 months…..the bastards are very afraid!

Just another “allah’u akbar attack” (blood sacrifice to multiculti/PC) by a “Algerian man” that had nothing to do with islam … And people still don’t get it.

Daily Mail says motive of Muslim who slit throat while screaming ‘Allahu akbar’ and ‘Long live Palestine’ is unknown
…………………………………………………
Given the Daily Mail’s sad history, what else would they say?
Nick says
Motive is unknown! FFS, isn’t it time the British media got the message? When the airplanes crashed into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and into the field in Pennsylvania, was the motive unknown? Is it still unknown? What is wrong with the British media? They’re becoming the laughing stock of the world.
They’re too afraid to face up to the facts. Islam is a death cult.
