Jihad Watch covered the story HERE about Toronto middle school students who were forced to take part in a pro-Hamas rally. Teachers are accused of instructing students to wear blue t-shirts to identify themselves as “settlers” and “colonizers.” Students were chanting “from Turtle Island to Palestine, occupation is a crime.” The incident is rightly causing an uproar. Imagine being a Jewish student in this class.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford weighed in:
It’s disgraceful… [The students] should be in the classroom learning about reading, writing, spelling, arithmetic, the whole shebang, but instead, the TDSB and these teachers want to bring them down to a rally, a Palestinian rally, and it’s ridiculous.”
Ford also called for an investigation.
The Jewish group Tafsik rightly demanded that the teachers involved be fired. A class action lawsuit would also be appropriate. The brazen indoctrination of children to whatever cause leftist “educators” are inflicting upon them is abusive and must stop.
Tafsik also wrote:
The @tdsb (Toronto District School Board) is the most racist, vile school board in the western world. “Students from approximately 15 schools attended” the anti-Israel rally in downtown Toronto. We can hope that the fallout will affect the inappropriate, activist woke culture at the Toronto District School Board.
I am deeply disappointed by yesterday’s events. Compromising the security and safety of students is unacceptable.
I expect TDSB to conduct a thorough review of the situation and ensure accountability with parents and students to prevent future incidents. https://t.co/kktw7aTPNY

They lied about the purpose of the field trip.
They lied about what students would do.
The @TDSB teachers who lied to #Toronto parents must be held accountable. pic.twitter.com/PNEXpfopWM

The Toronto District School Board is now in damage control mode, trying to make the bad publicity go away and create the impression that it cares. What it is really trying to do is escape accountability. It may, however, have crossed a red line. The incident was so appalling that it warrants a full investigation in order to discover who planned it, whose idea it was, who ordered and paid for the t-shirts, and whether any organized groups were behind it.
If this incident is not adequately dealt with, it is a frightening to speculate on what may come next.
“Jewish group organizing TDSB protest over field trip to anti-Israel rally,” by Tyler Dawson, National Post, September 23, 2024:
A Jewish advocacy group is planning a protest for Tuesday evening over a recent field trip that ended with students attending an anti-Israel rally in downtown Toronto.
“Fire them now,” demands a poster for the protest, organized by Tafsik, a Jewish advocacy group. “Revoke their licence now!”
On social media, the group has demanded that “every single teacher” involved in the field trip be fired and criminally charged.
“We are DONE with the constant Jew hate! You have until the end of the day on Monday to fire every single teacher involved in this. They should be charged with Criminal Negligence (s219),” Tafsik’s official X account says. “If you don’t fire them all, we will be at your offices on Tuesday!”
The Toronto District School Board, the largest school board in Canada, has come under fire over the past several days after video emerged of middle school students who had attended a protest at Grange Park downtown. The stated purpose of the field trip was for students to learn about the Grassy Narrows First Nation in northwestern Ontario, which has long been demonstrating to raise awareness of mercury contamination from a pulp mill that operated in the 1960s and ’70s.
Students from approximately 15 schools attended the protest, the TDSB said Monday.
Parents, according to screenshots of emails posted to social media, were told that students would not be participating in the protest, but the students ended up marching among people who were shouting anti-Israel slogans such as “from Turtle Island to Palestine, occupation is a crime.”…

This disgrace was obviously deliberate. Young leftist teachers lied to their students and dishonestly suborned them into taking part in a pro-Palestinian demonstration. But when it comes to an investigation it is obvious what they will do. They will cry injured innocence and claim that the whole thing was the students’ fault – that the students’ natural enthusiasm for the righteousness of the Palestinian cause emerged while they were active and away from the school.
That said, if anything resembling a genuine investigation actually occurs I will be very surprised. Such things are usually just window dressing followed by some assiduous sweeping-under-the-carpet. Just a little house keeping. I suspect that the TDSB would simply never find fault with a thing like this.
