Following the departure of Benny Gantz and the dissolution of the war cabinet, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement calling for unity as Israel fights a war for its very existence:

“We are fighting on several fronts and face great challenges and difficult decisions.
Therefore, I demand that all coalition partners get a hold of themselves and rise to the importance of the hour.
This is not the time for petty politics or for legislation that endangers the coalition, which is fighting for victory over our enemies.
We must all focus solely on the tasks at hand: Defeating Hamas, returning all of our hostages and returning our residents securely to their homes, both in the north and the south.
Therefore, I demand that everyone put aside every other consideration. Put aside all extraneous interests. Line up, as one, together, behind our fighters.”
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant also stated in the midst of escalation by Hizballah on Israel’s Northern border:
We are conducting a situation assessment in the Northern Command – this is important for our ongoing actions and readiness for anything that may come. The IDF has gained a lot of experience as a result of the war – both in the south and in the north. This is true for all the different parts of the IDF.”
“We are achieving readiness on land and in the air, strengthening our intelligence systems and preparing for every scenario. We must all remember that Hezbollah started a war against us on October 8th, a day after Hamas [attacked Israel], and since then, it has not stopped [attacking Israel]. We have an obligation to change the situation in the north, and to ensure the safe return of our citizens to their homes, and we will find a way to achieve this.”
“I would like to thank the IDF Chief of the General Staff and all our troops for their determination and for all the activities they have conducted here and across the country. They have conducted their missions in a professional, accurate and responsible manner, and this will continue to be the case even if we reach a reality in which the fighting will be on a different scale in the north.”

I wasn’t around in the midst of WWII, but I’ve heard things….such as people washing and saving *tin* foil toward the war effort. Food rationing and doing without a lot of other things.
I’ve also read Bible accounts of where the army of Israel went out to fight, and the women stayed with the ‘luggage.’
War is a terrible thing…loss of lives, destruction of property, disruption for those who survive the losses. But if a nation has to go to war to fight for the survival of its people, it means that this must be important for all of the people or the losses will be much greater.

For the Allies during World War II, it was “all hands on deck” including civilians who were not deployed in the “theater of operations”.

It was a terrible time, shortages of everything, and the terrible loss of Fathers, Uncles, Brothers, Mothers and Sisters to the war effort. The pain will be dealt on both sides for decades. But the bigger question will we learn anything or will our leaders lead us down this path of death and destruction again.
When will man learn to WORK for what they currently have and to WORK to improve that property and life, rather than to try and take away or recover property lost in history. Land is Land, life is way more important.

They did this during the 9 months protests before Oct 7 that caused to much distraction. 1 Tore Jewish Israeli society down the center with his “judicial reform” – almost every literate Israeli was
appalled and aghast and howling in outrage against Netanyahu’s government.
2. Permitted his extremist cabinet members to encourage the dregs of Israeli Jewish society – the
vile and appalling “hilltop youth” – to bully, rob and even occasionally kill their pastoral Arab neighbors,
burning their crops, hacking down their olive trees and stealing and sometimes killing their sheep.
All these crimes, committed in Judea and Samaria, were witnessed with bored indifference by the IDF.
3. Neglected the Gaza border, even permitting the IDF to confiscated long guns from the kibbutzim to
give them to the “hilltop youth” Where were the scores of armed personnel on sentry duty
on October 7th?
Where were the barking dogs?
How was it that all – all – those who were abducted were unarmed?
The disgusting Netanyahu deserves to be sent into permanent exile at the very least!

A constant of Netanyahu: his love of Israel and his continued defense from outsiders that would destroy the nation. The people have every right to defend their sovereignty, would wish they all get on the same band wagon to defend their homes and nation.
