China expands Belt and Road Initiative with ‘all-weather ally’ Pakistan ‘for regional connectivity’

The red-green axis continues to strengthen globally with America virtually out of the picture.

The 60 billion (USD) CPEC infrastructure  is an “important pioneering project” of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The BRI is a powerful initiative of infrastructure projects to broaden China’s global influence. The Chinese Communist Party is also known to wield debt diplomacy, which holds countries hostage.

China is also in the midst of strengthening its defense cooperation with Saudi Arabia. A China-Arab States Expo, to be held from September 21-24, is expected to attract over 10,000 participants.

As Joe Biden attempts to negotiate in the Middle East, everything he touches fails miserably and puts America at a great disadvantage, e.g. the Afghanistan debacle, negotiations with Saudi Arabia, resurrecting the disastrous Iran nuke deal (see also HERE), and now, attempting to force normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel. In June, even the Palestinians were reported to be looking to China to mediate peace with Israel.

As America continues to decline, China rises. In May, Minister of State for Pakistan’s Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar cautioned his country “against sacrificing its strategic partnership with China to maintain a cordial relationship with the United States.” Now, China considers Pakistan to be its “all-weather ally.”

China’s closeness with Pakistan and its regional ambitions were reiterated by Xi, who “said the so-called ‘CPEC’ has added new impetus to the economic and social development of Pakistan and laid a good foundation for regional connectivity and integration.”

Beijing: China will continue to work with its all-weather ally Pakistan to take their strategic ties to new heights, Chinese President Xi Jinping has said as the two countries celebrated the 10th anniversary of the launch of the ambitious so-called “CPEC” infrastructure projects in the South Asian country for regional connectivity.

In his congratulatory message to the ‘Decade of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’ (CPEC) celebration event held in Islamabad on Monday, Xi said the USD 60 billion CPEC infrastructure programme is an “important pioneering project” of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The so-called “CPEC”, which connects Gwadar Port in Pakistan’s Balochistan with China’s Xinjiang province, is opposed by India as it is being laid through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The event was attended by Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, who is on a three-day visit to Pakistan.

“China will work with Pakistan to aim for high-standard, sustainable and livelihood-enhancing outcomes and further build the CPEC into an exemplary project of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation,” Xi said.

“Since its launch in 2013, China and Pakistan have been advancing CPEC under the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and have achieved a number of early harvests,” he was quoted as saying by the state-run Xinhua news agency.

Xi, also the General Secretary of the ruling Communist Party of China, said the so-called “CPEC” has added new impetus to the economic and social development of Pakistan and laid a good foundation for regional connectivity and integration….

  2. Good work, China. Already they’ve sunk into CPEC ? that they’re not gonna get back from Pakistan. In b/w, it looked like they had learned their lesson, but apparently, they haven’t: they’re back into sinking more ? into Pakistan

    What beats me is why does India continue being a member of both BRICS & SCO, both organizations led by Beijing? Hope that once BJP loses, a future regime will pull out of both, & maintain only bilateral relations w/ Russia. But one thing India has done well is sabotage the idea of a common BRICS currency: that would have been stupid given who’d control it

    • The BJP will not lose.The other parties are collaborators of the Islamic jihad that is on in India. The Hindus of India won’t allow Jihadis to dictate terms. So the BJP will rule India for the next few decades at least…A Hindu..

      • BJP has morphed into an anti-Hindu party. It will get the shock of its life next year from Ekam Sanatan Bharat, not the other secular opposition parties. Already, there is a strong undercurrent against it, and we’ll start seeing that in various state elections coming in months

        • If I were the leader of Ekam Sanatan Bharat, I would’ve focused on the minor states first. Like, if the party contests in a large state like UP,MP ; guaranteed they’ll lose.
          I believe that would be the case in smaller states too, but still in those states they hold a chance maybe.
          Nevertheless, I think that 2024 will result in an NDA majority again.

          They’re not under any illusions of winning the elections. What they have said is that in parliament, or in various state legislatures, their MPs will be the voice of Hindus on various issues, from love-jihad incidents to rioting during Hindu festivals to cow slaughter. Usually, that’s not something legislators wanna hear, which is why these things never get raised there. The claim is that even w/ 20 MPs, they could make things really uncomfortable for the ruling benches

          I think 2024 will depend on how many Hindutva-minded Hindus decide to stick w/ the NDA despite all these letdowns, vs how many decide to jump ship to ESB. That’s gonna determine the results. I’m hoping that the BJP loses its absolute majority, and that the ESB gets enough seats to be in a kingmaker role. They have said that for any power-sharing arrangement, their 7-ideals will have to be a part of any common program for any potential allies to get their support

  3. The West: We can offer IMF loans and WEF your nation if you buy into our social and economic cultures and purchase our military arms with much of that supposed money.

    China: We’ll invest in you, support your social-religious culture. Just do business with us and help us create the new Silk Road through your lands.

    • Precisely! Not only has Pakistan never been an ally (contrary to what cretins like Bush used to think), it has nothing to offer us in the region. Its human rights record is about as pathetic as China’s or North Korea’s, and we’re doing ourselves no favors by indulging them

  7. Next time you purchase a product remember if its made in China you are supporting their goal of world dominance. Thank you Corporate America for providing this opportunity to fund CHINA.

    • You are right, but aside from clothes & apparel, try getting anything that is not made in China. If you buy anything like computer accessories or other electronic or electric items, like say, trimmers, or fabric steamers, it’ll invariably say “Made in China”. Our companies, while virtue-signaling w/ ESG, keep doing their manufacturing in China out of their greed for a bigger slice of the China market. We need to put not just tariffs, but also attach a whole lot of opprobrium to companies continuing to make things in China

      I know that the bulk of stuff ain’t gonna come back to the US. However, it can be spread out to other countries in the region – Vietnam, Philippines, India, Thailand, et al. Aside from that, also spread some of it to Latin America – particularly countries that have been cleaning up their act – El Salvador, for example. We could potentially reduce some of the transportation costs by near-shoring some of that business
