Palestinians look to China to mediate peace with Israel

The global power shift ever since Biden came into power is obvious. Shi’ite Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia recently resumed ties in a China-brokered deal; and as China’s Xi was on way to Saudi Arabia for a visit last year, Biden’s envoy Tim Lenderking decided to grandstand and state that the US is “not going anywhere” following Biden’s  humiliating visit to the Middle East. That prompted China to  state that Biden’s “embarrassing Saudi trip” proved that American influence in the Middle East was “declining.”

It was all a major reality check and contrast to Trump when he visited the Middle East:

That Xi is expected to be met with all the pomp and fanfare afforded to former U.S. President Donald Trump during his 2017 visit does little to improve the optics of Biden’s visit…

China has now replaced America as a chief negotiator in the Middle East (and elsewhere), so it isn’t surprising that the Palestinians will make a show and look to China to mediate a so-called peace with Israel. The truth is that the Palestinians have never wanted peace and don’t want it now. They have been waging jihad against the Jews in the Holy Land even before the establishment of a Jewish state, and then against Israel, as called for in their own national Charter . That jihad, using both violence and stealth means, continues.  Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, states in its covenant:

Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it” (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).

“The Islamic world is on fire. Each of us should pour some water, no matter how little, to extinguish whatever one can without waiting for the others.” (Sheikh Amjad al-Zahawi, of blessed memory).

…The Islamic nature of Palestine is part of our religion and whoever takes his religion lightly is a loser.

Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people. “May the cowards never sleep.”

Despite the Palestinian delusion of “peace,” the Palestinians have always sought the obliteration of Israel from the River to the Sea. This latest news is not really about “giving up” on the U.S. and looking to China to mediate peace, it is being presented. Going to China is yet another pretense — a gesture to further embarrass the U.S., which is considered to be a “great Satan” by Iran. Iran heavily supports and finances the jihad against Israel, which it calls the “Little Satan.”

RAMALLAH, West Bank — Fresh off brokering the restoration of ties between regional rivals Iran and Saudi Arabia, Chinese President Xi Jinping is looking to further bolster Beijing’s image as a power player in the Middle East.

Hosting Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday, Xi introduced another Chinese proposal for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

The plan largely mirrors previous Chinese initiatives unveiled over the past decade: It calls for the creation of an international conference to promote peace talks aimed at establishing a sovereign Palestinian state along the pre-1967 lines and the funneling of significant amounts of international aid to sustain the new entity.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, now heading the most right-wing government in Israel’s history, is sure to reject the proposal, as Jerusalem moves further away from accepting the land for peace notion.

But for Ramallah, China represents a far more desirable mediator than America, in which it no longer has much trust.

In a recent interview from his Ramallah office, PA Social Welfare Minister Ahmad Majdalani argued that China is in a better position to coax Israel into making concessions after the US has for years refused to apply such pressure.
