The mullahs of Iran know that with Biden coming in, it’s time to act boldly. More on this story. “Security Source: Iran Done with Tolerating Israel, Punishment Awaiting Netanyahu Now,” Fars News Agency, January 5, 2021: TEHRAN (FNA)- Nour News, a media outlet close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), quoted ranking security sources […]
Can the Egypt-Israel Peace Warm Up?
Until now, Israel has been satisfied with its “cold peace” with Egypt. This is a peace not between peoples, but between the security establishments of both countries, that cooperate in fighting the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is the Palestinian avatar, and other Jihadis in the Sinai, including remnants of ISIS. But with the normalization […]
Netanyahu to Visit Egypt on Official Trip: A Cold Peace Warming Up?
While in one direction – toward the Gulf – Israeli and Emirati and Bahrain businessmen are making deals, expanding trade, encouraging investments in each other’s countries, promoting tourism in both directions, now that the two Arab states have agreed to normalize ties with Israel – in the other direction, toward Egypt, with which Israel has […]
Netanyahu: ‘There can be no going back to the previous nuclear agreement’ with Iran, in apparent appeal to Biden
This is virtually certain to fall on deaf ears. The foreign policy establishment will be fully back in the saddle, and that means more empowering of America’s enemies and abandoning of its allies. “Netanyahu warns against reengaging with Iran, in apparent message to Biden,” Times of Israel, November 22, 2020: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in […]
Obama Accuses Netanyahu of ‘Orchestrating’ A Campaign Against Him
As is well known, the most anti-Israel of our Presidents is Jimmy Carter, the perennially grinning author of Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, which contains such tossed-off malevolence as this: “Some Israelis believe they have the right to confiscate and colonize Palestinian land and try to justify the sustained subjugation and persecution of increasingly hopeless and […]
Netanyahu calls for ‘civilized peoples everywhere’ to ‘unite to defeat the savagery of resurgent Islamist terrorism’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not mince words in response to the Vienna jihad terror attack. He posted on Twitter: President Reuvin Rivlin stated: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Austria as we follow last night’s despicable terrorist attack in Vienna with concern” The statements by both the Israeli PM and President carry unique […]
Update: Will Sudan Be Next to Normalize Relations with Israel?
In late-August I posted an article “Is Sudan Next?” where I discussed the possibility – the likelihood – that after the United Arab Emirates, the next Arab state to normalize relations with Israel was likely to be either the Sudan or Bahrain. At the time, most bets were on Bahrain, so naturally, wanting to go […]
The Trump Peace Deals Won’t End the Jihad Against Israel, But They Help
My latest at PJ Media: At the ceremony Tuesday on the South Lawn of the White House for the signing of peace deals between Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, President Trump declared: “We’re here this afternoon to change the course of history. After decades of division and conflict we mark the dawn of a […]
Trump: ‘Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and Bahrain agree to a Peace Deal’
“Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain agree to a Peace Deal – the second Arab country to make peace with Israel in 30 days!” This is extraordinary. Trump is achieving it by refusing to heed the conventional wisdom that has guided U.S. foreign policy into disaster after […]
Those Embassies Moving to Jerusalem
There is more good news for Jerusalem on the diplomatic front. On September 4, Serbia announced that it was moving its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. And on the same day, Muslim-majority Kosovo announced that it would not only be establishing diplomatic relations with Israel, but according to Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci, will be placing […]
