Benjamin Kule Mayani wasn’t an apostate from Islam, but he was aiding apostates from Islam, and that was enough to get him killed.
The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law. The fact that Muhamud was the father of these girls makes no difference. The Qur’an depicts Abraham saying to his non-Muslim relatives: “We have done with you. And there has arisen between us and you hostility and hatred forever, until you believe in Allah alone.” (60:4).
The death penalty for leaving Islam is based on the Qur’an: “They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike. So do not take from among them allies until they emigrate for the cause of Allah. But if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them and take not from among them any ally or helper.” (Qur’an 4:89)
A hadith depicts Muhammad saying: “Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him” (Bukhari 9.84.57). The death penalty for apostasy is part of Islamic law according to all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
This is still the position of all the schools of Islamic jurisprudence, both Sunni and Shi’ite. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the most renowned and prominent Muslim cleric in the world, has stated: “The Muslim jurists are unanimous that apostates must be punished, yet they differ as to determining the kind of punishment to be inflicted upon them. The majority of them, including the four main schools of jurisprudence (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali) as well as the other four schools of jurisprudence (the four Shiite schools of Az-Zaidiyyah, Al-Ithna-‘ashriyyah, Al-Ja’fariyyah, and Az-Zaheriyyah) agree that apostates must be executed.”

“Slain Christian Harbored Converts in Western Uganda,” Morning Star News, October 19, 2026:
NAIROBI, Kenya (Morning Star News) – A Christian returning from an evangelistic outreach was killed on Sept. 29 in western Uganda when he and a colleague were attacked by three Muslims, including one upset that his sister had converted to Christianity, sources said.
Benjamin Kule Mayani, a 45-year-old teacher at Excellent Nursery and Primary School and a resident of Kasokero village in Kyondo Sub-County, Kasese District, was attacked at about midnight on Sept. 29 in Karambi Cell, Kisinga Town Council.
Mayani and his colleague Pascal Muhindo had received a telephone call from a man identified as Isifu Marjani who asked to meet Mayani at the school where he taught, according to an elder in the Anglican Church in western Uganda who spoke by phone with Muhindo, a member of his church, shortly after the attack.
Mayani and Muhindo were about two kilometers from the school when Marjani and two other Muslims intercepted them, said the elder, unidentified for security reasons, based on his conversation with Muhindo.
The Muslims questioned Mayani about the whereabouts of a woman identified as Sharifa, Marjani’s sister, who had converted to Christianity, the elder said, adding that the assailants continued questioning Mayani and Muhindo about Sharifa before one of them struck Mayani on the head with a large stick.
Muhindo fled to seek help from nearby residents.
Mayani had previously housed Sharifa and other Muslim converts to Christianity in his home later moving her to another home for security concerns, the elder said.
When Muhindo and residents returned to the scene, they found Mayani had been killed, the elder said….
somehistory says
Isn’t there freedom of religion in Uganda? Will these murderers be arrested, charged, tried and fried some time soon?
Lured by one intending to commit murder because his sister wanted out of his death cult. One day, according to God’s Will, vengeance will be visited upon those taking the lives of innocent people.
Even in many places today, there are still laws regarding murder and the punishments to be meted out to those taking another life. This is a manifestation of the “Image” in which man was made….justice is part of that Image.
These muzzie murderers will have justice brought upon them. They will reap.
