Avraham Burg is a bizarre creature. He’s an Israeli who was once the speaker of the Knesset, and for a few weeks the interim president of Israel. But somewhere along the line something inside him snapped, and he has for years been spewing his venom against the Jewish state, described himself to be no longer Jewish, insisted that Israel is the “last colonial power,” and so on and so idiotically forth. A lunatic, forsooth.
Now he has written an anti-Israel tract called Peace Is The Only Final Solution For the Jews, with a foreword by Tucker Carlson, the well-known antisemite and political commentator, who welcomes on to his show other antisemites, including the deplorable Nick Fuentes. Carlson is also the publisher of the book, that will be distributed — shamefully so — by Simon and Schuster.

More on this book by Burg with a preface by Carlson can be found here: “Tucker Carlson Just Put ‘Final Solution for Jews’ on a Book Cover,” by Jeffrey Lax, Algemeiner, October 29, 2026:
Tucker Carlson Books has announced a title that reads Peace Is the Only Final Solution for Jews, with a foreword by Tucker Carlson on the cover. It publishes Nov. 17, and Simon & Schuster is the distributor.
The phrase “Final Solution” has one meaning in Jewish history. It is the Nazi plan to murder every Jew in Europe, and a publisher who prints it next to the word “Jews” knows exactly what he is doing.
I tagged Carlson on X on Tuesday night, letting him know that writing the foreword may be the most sickening thing I have ever heard an American journalist say or do. And that was before I even learned more about the author and that Carlson himself was the publisher.
The author is Avraham “Avrum” Burg, a former Knesset speaker and briefly interim president of Israel. Carlson’s imprint is a joint venture with Skyhorse Publishing, and Simon & Schuster distributes Skyhorse. The book is unreleased, so I have read only the cover, the publisher’s description, and Burg’s earlier published words. They tell you all you need to know about what is very likely to be a revolting book.
Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.
This one names Jews. And “Israel” appears nowhere in the title. For years, Carlson has spoken of “Israel,” “Netanyahu,” and “neocons” when his critics say he really meant Jews.
The ADL’s backgrounder documents Carlson’s record. The shift in language and the timing right before one of the most consequential midterm elections of our time are so dramatic, and so finally and fully revealing, that one must wonder whether this was carefully orchestrated, planned, and timed from the very beginning of Tucker’s downward spiral.
Millions of Americans will pass this title in bookstores and online without ever opening it, and what they will read is “Final Solution for Jews.” The children and grandchildren of survivors will read it too, and it is my belief that Carlson and his publisher put those words in front of them on purpose….
Carlson wanted to upset Jews, even to frighten them, and at the same time to attract an antisemitic audience for the book, by putting, or retaining if it came from Burg himself, the words “Final Solution” in the book’s title.
Burg published a previous book, Defeating Hitler, in which he described Israeli society as fascist and violent, which he believed to be a consequence of the continuing trauma from the Holocaust. He has also said that “to define the State of Israel as a Jewish state is the key to its end. A Jewish state is explosive. It’s dynamite.” He has also called on all Israelis to obtain foreign citizenship if possible, having himself acquired French citizenship in 2004, because of his belief that Israeli policies will turn the world against it and lead to its destruction. He refuses to travel to Israel beyond the Green Line — that is, he will not visit Judea and Samaria — because he regards the settlements as illegitimate. He has accused Israel of being an “apartheid” state and “the last colonial occupier in the Western world.” It’s no wonder, then, that Tucker Carlson agreed both to publish Burg’s book and to supply a preface.
In a 2009 Der Spiegel interview, the interviewer reminded Burg that he had likened Israel to the last days of Weimar Germany and asked what separates the Nazi cry of “Juden raus” from Israelis yelling “Arabs get out.” Burg’s answer did not dispute the comparison.
But the Nazi cry of “Juden Raus” had consequences. It led to Kristallnacht, and then to Auschwitz, and Treblinka, and Belzec. Those Israelis — whom exactly does he have in mind? — whom Burg claims yell “Arabs get out,” stop right there; with words. They, save for the 150-odd “hilltop youth” in Judea and Samaria, do not touch a hair on the head of the Arabs, much less build extermination camps. The Arab population of Israel was 150,000 in 1948; today it is 2 million. The Arab population of Judea and Samaria was 660,000 in 1967, when Israel took over that territory; it has now risen to three million. “Arabs get out”? When and where has that happened?
There is no point in asking Tucker Carlson to apologize for his publishing such a crazed assault on the Jewish state, nor for his enthusiastic introduction or the title he may have come up with, or approved, that contains the Holocaust-reminding words “Final Solution” that of course summons up, for Jews most woundingly but for non-Jews as well, thoughts of the Holocaust. Nor is J.D. Vance going to condemn Carlson and the book he’s publishing; he’s sticking by his friendship with Carlson, which is the best reason — there are many — for opposing Vance’s candidacy in 2028.
Skip Carlson, who is beyond all possibility of redemption; in his antisemitism, he is out far and in deep. Instead, concentrate on threatening Simon and Schuster with a boycott of all of its books if it goes ahead and distributes the Carlson-Burg monstrosity. That just might work.

Kudos to you Hugh for tagging Carlson on X and giving him a piece of your mind. It is sickening journalism and should be called out for what it is. Well done Hugh.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
Thank you for the praise, but it is undeserved. It is Jeffrey Lax who tagged Carlson on X.

Neither a Jew not Israeli, l will applaud if some jihadi puts a bullet through Tucker Carlson’s worthless brain. I once watched Carlson quite frequently, considering him fairly well-informed and entertaining, but today regard him with the disgust I feel after walking the dogs at night and upon arriving home find dog turd between the treads of my walking boots. That is Tucker Carlson, turd of the night, a twisted individual who looks perpetually angry, has degenerate into s liar who is not a Christian and knows little about Islam. You could now liken Carlson to a lost fart in a haunted outhouse.
