Spain: After Morocco’s invasion of Ceuta, Sánchez’s Socialist Party backs Moroccan for senate seat

Not only did Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez face no consequences for the recent Moroccan invasion of Spain by means of an inundation of migrants, which amounts to an invitation for more to arrive in future, but his latest backing of Abdelah Mustafa is nothing less than a slap in the face to his country.

Spain’s ruling Socialist Party (PSOE) has nominated Abdelah Abdelah Mustafa, a Muslim community leader of Moroccan origin, who has publicly displayed support for Morocco, as its Senate candidate for the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in the November 29 elections.

Mustafa, president of the Sidi Embarek neighborhood association, has displayed Moroccan national symbols on social media and previously defended the behavior of illegal migrants who crossed into Ceuta.

Speaking about the mass crossings, he claimed the migrants had not arrived with violent intentions, arguing that they could have taken control of the city if that had been their objective.

He also organized emergency shelter for hundreds of illegal migrants and criticized anti-immigration demonstrations, accusing participants of racism and Islamophobia.
