Jacksonville Mayor turns against Duval County School Board member over ‘anti-Islam’ post

There is a specific reason why  Islam never gives in to infidels, and why believers in Islam generally show no sympathy for those unbelievers. Take, for instance the egregious comment that Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), made after October 7, when he openly justified Hamas’ ISIS-like barbarity against Israelis, from infants on up. Awad said he was “happy” to see what had happened. Then he spun his delight at the savagery into an excuse. While his sinister comment earned him a disavowal from the Biden White House, Awad continued on as executive director, without any backlash that might have resulted in his removal from CAIR. The very reason why he was tolerated should be cause for alarm throughout America: it’s because his views align with those of the organization he heads. Yet conversely, the slightest offense or perceived offense to Muslims is treated in Western society as if it were a crime, as we see in yet another case. Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan weighed in Tuesday as Duval County School Board member Anthony Ricardo continued to face backlash over a controversial social media post about Islam that groups claim he shared on his personal Facebook page.

Ricardo, who represents District 1, is facing calls to resign after he apparently reshared a reshare of the post, which said “Islam is not a religion,” calling it “a political cult masquerading as a faith.”

The original post appears to be an infographic created by Americans Against Islamification.

Ricardo’s reshare, which was captured in a screenshot that was shared by others, has since been removed from his personal Facebook page.

Several groups have publicly denounced Ricardo, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR Florida), the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida and OneJax, a Jacksonville nonprofit focused on interfaith programs.

OneJax posted a lengthy statement on Monday, saying “religious bigotry has no place in public education.”…

It’s no surprise that CAIR-Florida denounced Ricardo.

CAIR is the chief Muslim advocacy group in the United States, and that in itself should say something. It gets a free pass from the mainstream media, which has no interest in what it actually represents. Yet the governors of Texas and Florida have designated CAIR a terrorist entity. Still, there has been as of yet no significant follow up, and CAIR continues to get a pass.

The arrow evidently does not go both ways globally, when it comes to how Muslims treat Christians and other minorities.

In Western countries, particularly among the woke, anything that is considered to be an insult to the sensibilities of Muslims is severely penalized. Yet when one looks squarely at Islam‘s bloody 1400-year history of conquest, the ongoing persecution of minorities in many Muslim countries, the genocide against Christians in Nigeria, the jihad posing as a so-called resistance against the Jewish state of Israel, the unreasonable accommodations that all too many Muslims in the West expect, and more, it is understandable that Duval County School Board member Anthony Ricardo might state: “Islam is not a religion,” and call it “a political cult masquerading as a faith.”

Islam is, in fact, both a faith and a political system at the same time. This duality has caused considerable difficulty for the West. Islam’s political and violent aspects are what enabled it to expand, and to come to dominate and rule the Middle East (except for Israel today), parts of Africa, and significant parts of Asia. Those elements of Islam are also why it is gaining momentum in the West. Islam is the religion of over two billion Muslims, and peaceful Muslims exist among them; in the West, Muslims enjoy their religious rights and the freedom to worship as their convictions dictate. In contrast, Pakistan is home to up to 4 million Ahmadis who are persecuted under Pakistan’s Sharia-based legal code. In the West, both orthodox Muslims and Ahmadis are free to practice their faith. The fact that there are peaceful Muslims is no reason to hesitate to face the Islamic threat to the West, such as the Muslim Brotherhood’s aspirations of conquest. During World War II, the Allies fought Nazism relentlessly, despite the fact that not all Germans were Nazis. Peaceful Germans were irrelevant to the battle against Nazis, except if they joined the battle. Nobody among the Allies excused the Nazis or watered down the threat they posed because there were peaceful Germans. 

Islam is a religious, political, and military entity wrapped into one. Its mainstream ideology is supremacist and expansionary, not peaceful.

The problem in Western society today is the woke, who do not seem to have the ability to differentiate between tolerance and unreasonable accommodation, and they are unwilling to engage in open discussions about this.

Rather than debate and verbally oppose Ricardo, the Duval County School Board has instead encouraged outrageous comments from special interest groups such as OneJax, a Jacksonville group focused on interfaith programs. OneJax stated: “Religious bigotry has no place in public education.” Is opposition to Hamas really “religious bigotry”? It is the blatantly violent and expansionary component of Islam that Ricardo clearly opposes. Yet he is being smeared as a bigot — the perfect strategy to deflect attention away from the real threat.

Ricardo has a valid point, one that should be taken into consideration while protecting the principle of the equality of rights for all. A key point, however, is that normative Islam does not want equal rights for all. Equality is not part of the Sharia, in which women do not have equal rights, and neither do infidels. The death penalty for apostasy also still exists.

Shame on Mayor Donna Deegan for allowing herself to be played. She stated:

Muslim students like all other students should feel welcome and parents deserve to know their children are safe. We must demand better. Religious prejudice does not belong anywhere in our city.

Ricardo has never so much as hinted anything opposed to Deegan’s views of Muslim students. It’s the abusive aspects of Sharia that he opposes. Under the Sharia, Donna Deegan is not considered to be equal to men.  She is unwittingly advocating for a religion that persecutes Christians and other minorities, and is denigrating to women as well. Muslims in the West should be expected to respect Western countries and their customs and traditions. This has not been the case. Instead, many Muslims have engaged in dogged efforts to shut down the freedom of speech, blast the supremacist Muslim call to prayer over loudspeakers, defend the niqab, cover up the Muslim rape gangs in Britain, facilitate the hijrah via open-door migration policies, justify the “globalize the intifada” jihad movement, and more. 

It can be difficult to stand up to the strength of the backlash, as many Muslims and their allies remain hostile and resolute when opposed. That also is part of Islam, which also teaches (to children as well as adults) that jihad is the way and martyrdom — in accordance with Muhammad’s instruction — is the highest calling.

The inconvenient truth is that Islam (and its Sharia) is not compatible with Western freedoms — particularly the freedom of speech and religion and the equality of rights of women. This is why the Organization of Islamic Cooperation could not ascribe to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Instead, it published its own Cairo Declaration of Human Rights based on the Sharia in 1990.

Punishing those who oppose the spread of Islamic supremacy amounts to victory for the expansion of Sharia. The easy and cowardly way out is surrender, which would be devastating to future  generations. The results of such surrender are already evident in Europe and the UK.

A starting point in the West’s understanding of this problem should be that Muslims who ascribe to the supremacist Sharia will never back down from Islam’s most basic expansionary mission to subvert disbelievers.

The Muslim Brotherhood plan for North America is explicit, and it rides on the backs of the woke who aid it. An excerpt:

• Enablement of Islam in North America, meaning: establishing an effective and stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim Brotherhood which adopts Muslims’ causes domestically and globally, and which works to expand the observant Muslim base, aims at unifying and directing Muslims’ efforts, presents Islam as a civilization alternative, and supports the global Islamic state, wherever it is…
• The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Proecess” with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the Mujahedeen be equal.
