Hugh, you are turning into one of those libtarded judges by advocating for only “a stiff fine or perhaps a month in jail or both.” Under New York law, getting charged with assault as a hate crime bumps up the offense to the next level. So, a class A misdemeanor becomes a class E felony. But here in NYC she would probably not serve time and her fine would be minimal. Judges here have too much discretion when imposing a sentence. Unfortunately judges in NYC courts abuse that discretion.
In Michigan, however, they seem VERY serious about hate crimes committed in their jurisdiction. There they a hate crime “ethnic intimidation” and charge it as a separate felony..

She was released as all were considered misdemeanor. The prosecutors do not want to press charges.
A partial video is available where they ask whether she will be charged with anything.
(It was shown in a video about unhinged women and how septum ring seems to be a common demoninator for woman with similar behaviours and mental issues.)
When she was told she should be institutionalized she says while being placed in the police car, she already has been in a mental institution. (Proudly like as if she graduated from there.)
Also a fun fact about her, her family and her apparantly escaped from the chinese communist party in the chinese mongolian part to the US. Her parents are free speech advocates. There is even a video apparantly of her talking before the Senate(or senator, sorry not sure about how these things go in the US).

Again i might be wrong but isn’t there a difference between civil charges pressed charges and prosecutor pressed charges? I mean beside one of them being a criminal issue and civil issue?
Mainly that in case of a civil charge the victim would need to field the cost up front and hope that she will win the case and gets reimbursed?
(I am not that familiar with the nuances of the US law system to this degree. Is why i am asking.)

The (democrat) kids are not all right. She and her family were persecuted Mongolian immigrants. As a young girl she spoke out against oppression by the Chinese Communist Party. She has already been let go. No charges. When I was her age we were seeking out nazis that had fled to the USA after the war. Today it seems the new breed are teaching at universities. She had to learn it somewhere. What a change that is.
