Trump has said that if he decides to attack Iran, in conjunction with Israel, that will happen only after the U.S. midterm elections. Those midterms take place on November 3. The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) is now on its way to the Middle East as part of a third Carrier Strike Group deployment. A strike force of 10,000 Marines is also on its way to the Gulf. There can be only one reason for such a naval and Marine buildup in the Persian Gulf. Meanwhile, Iran has been hard at work on its nuclear program, enriching more uranium to just below weapons-grade at its facility built deep inside Pickaxe Mountain. And it continues to block the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran refuses any discussion of its nuclear program, insisting that can only take place after the U.S. ends its naval blockade and lifts all economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

More on the likelihood of such a strike can be found here: “After months of threats by Trump, resumption of Iran war now seems inevitable,” by Lazar Berman, Times of Israel, October 27, 2026:
Ever since US President Donald Trump’s memorandum of understanding with Iran predictably fell apart, there have been regular warnings about a potential US or even Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic.
Those predictions often follow the latest bombastic threat from Trump, which have proven to be a reliable indicator not of an impending strike, but rather that he has no intention of restarting intensive combat operations against Iran.
Now, however, a return to war in the coming weeks seems likely.
There are good reasons to believe that the chances of an American attack — or another joint operation with Israel — are rising, and the Iranians know it.
But that doesn’t mean they’re about to give in.
Israel seems to be champing at the bit to resume the fight against Iran.
According to multiple reports, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been trying to convince Trump to launch a joint strike, or at least give his blessing for an Israeli operation.
Two weeks ago, US officials told Channel 12 news that they believe that Netanyahu wanted to launch an attack before the elections.
An American source said that Netanyahu “has discussed the issue” of a resumption of attacks “several times,” and that Trump told the premier he can “go ahead and prepare,” but made no official commitment to approving an attack.
Last week, sources told the Financial Times that Israel was ready to carry out strikes on the weekend of October 10 on Iranian nuclear facilities and energy plants, but was stopped by Trump.
And on Sunday, reports emerged of “unprecedented confrontation” in recent days between Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir over an unspecified military action that the prime minister has been pushing. Defense officials believed the operation could lead to a swift confrontation with Iran shortly before the election.
“This relates to an action that could lead to a flare-up with Iran, at a sensitive and dramatic moment, creating this [potential] miscalculation,” a security source told Channel 12.
Since Trump called a sudden halt to the US-Israeli campaign against in Iran in April, it has been evident that he had no inclination to go back to war before the November midterms….
Trump knows that the Iran war is unpopular with voters, and were he to have launched new strikes before the midterms, that would have harmed his party’s chances. Launching a “swift attack” on Iran at the end of November, after the American military presence has strengthened, will have no electoral consequences. And if the joint attack is successful, and Iran is pummeled so thoroughly that it will end its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, swiftly bringing down the price of oil, Trump should regain much of the support he has been losing.
Earlier this month, Trump ordered the USS Theodore Roosevelt and its carrier strike group to the Middle East, along with around 10,000 Marines in the USS Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group. They are slated to arrive by the end of November, bringing the number of US aircraft carriers near Iran’s shores to three….
With that third carrier strike group, and those additional ten thousand Marines, in the Persian Gulf by the end of November, that is when most analysts now believe the Americans, along with the Israelis, will strike.
Though various US officials have expressed slightly different versions, Trump’s main demands are straightforward: Iran will have to give up uranium enrichment on its soil, ship out its enriched uranium, and cease any threats to the freedom of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and only then can it begin to receive significant economic relief….
That economic relief would come from ending the American blockade of Iranian ports, so that it can resume exporting oil, and from ending sanctions on the regime, including the freeing of possibly as much as an estimated $100 billion in broader Iranian oil revenues and reserves that remain frozen in foreign banks worldwide (such as in China, Iraq, Qatar, and South Korea) under U.S. and international sanctions.

The Iranian regime has go to. In its entirety. No mas.
Sure hope Trump, a sterling patriot who has done so much good for America (and for the West at large even though much of the West, stupid in the extreme, does not appreciate this, indeed opposes Trump—like the idiotic Democratic Party right here at home), and for whom I proudly voted three times for President, has concluded this by now. Better have lest he continues the error, an enormous one, that one can make a deal with religious fanatics, dead-enders, the slaves of the fictional Allah.
Time for a new regime in Iran. Could anything be clearer? Hope President Trump sees how clear a verity this is.
John Smith says
It most definitely is a time for a new regime change in Iran Wellington, but sadly this will not happen. I know that you don’t have a great deal of faith in Biblical prophecy but I do. The prophet Ezekiel clearly warned us almost 3,000 years ago that Israel will be attacked by Persia (Iran) and Turkey (Beth Togarmah) and several other Islamic countries. Prophecy wasn’t just a priestly pastime in those days, they mostly certainly had an insight into things that we don’t have today. Rest assured, unfortunately this prophecy will be fulfilled.

The use of a very strong might by the powers of the US and Israeli airstrikes against those despots, and their vicious thugs in uniform, the IRGC is a very fitting way that those dangerous hostile and menacing fiendish villain’s Islamic regime need to and should be dealt with.
As the third President of the United States , Thomas Jefferson had, so rightly and wisely, declare, “With every barbarous people….force is law.’
Furthermore, when it comes to the subject of the United States with that war which she had against that of dangerous and menacing Islamic tyranny of Iran.. There should have been be no negotiations whatsoever with the representatives of that Islamic regime, because they and the despots who head that horrendous Islamic tyranny are lairs and will have no intention of keeping their promise on anything that they might sign. Such a printed “peace agreement wouldn’t be worth the paper that it’s printed on.
Those six words are true and right, which are “Khamenei is dead. “Finish the regime.”
For it’s best to finish the job, as in “Get it over with ‘by eliminating that horrific tyrannical regime, once and for all. As it had been, rightly and wisely. “Half-measures in war is madness and folly.”
In addition, President Trump had used the word “Lunatic” when referring to those in charge and power of that hostile Islamic tyranny of Iran. Lunatics are irrational, in their case they are irrational because of the blind unquestioning fanatical in a doctrine of Islam of a future coming of an Islamic messiah who has the title of the Mahdi.
That Mahdi they believe will come and conquer the entire world for Islam but only when in Iran and the Middle East and the whole word gets worst, not better. Therefore, by their own faulty Islamic worldview “reasoning” they would have no incentive to have honest negotiations about not going nuclear, as in not obtaining nuclear weapons. Neither would they want to stop arming with deadly weapons to murderous Muslim terrorist entities, as Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi which are that Islamic regime’s stooge terror/ murder groups.
Lunatic cannot be reason with such dangerous characters will not respond to logic. So those deluded madmen and their regime need to and must and should be eliminated by force, once and for all.
For the sake and safety and security of America, the other Western countries, for the Iranian people, for Israel, and for all the civilized nations of the world.

You are correct Walter; “Half measures in war is madness and folly”. Making a deal with known devils is indeed madness. America is not making a deal to buy a hotel or construct a golf course. We are under threat of nuclear proliferation by a group of fanatics determined to destroy us. We have spent enough time cutting bait. It’s time to fish.

The United States and the State of Israel should definitely continue using the power of a strong military might against those savage despots of that “mullah regime’ of Iran.
For it all comes down to the basic rule which is “Destroy or be destroyed.” For that belligerent and bellicose regime has as to of its main themes “Death to the USA., “:and “Death to Israel “
Therefore using American Air Force and Israeli air force strikes against that dangerous tyrannical Islam of Iran is an action of basic self-defense.
As the fifth President of the United States, James Monroe, rightly and wisely, in a speech had declared, “The right to self-defense never ceases. It is among the most sacred, and alike necessary to nations and to individuals.”
Frank Anderson says
I don’t understand why Iran if it is enriching uranium to make a bomb would stop at anything less than bomb grade.
One good reason to pause the bombing when it was paused is to have time to make more big bunker buster bombs. I believe 14 bombs were dropped in the previous round, which may be a substantial part of all the bombs in inventory. I also read where 4 contractors were hired to make more.
I think it is worth remembering what was learned from Barnes Wallis’ Tall Boy and Grand Slam bombs in WW2. A really big bomb can destroy a target by the wave it produces at a substantial distance before contact. There is (hopefully) a mockup of a US 44,000 pound bomb at the entrance of the Air Force Weapons Museum in Florida. Adding guidance kits to those would be interesting. (T-44).
Please finish the job.

I have often wondered why they ‘stop short’
Frank Anderson says
The Gold Plated bombs cost about 2 million dollars each in the SMALL numbers produced. Guessing about 20 were produced and 5 or 6 used for testing, it’s good that 14 bombs were available.
I have seen such bombs on display at the museum and agree they are good; but better can be made.

They stopped short because USA Israel had intelligence on the program and should they move, we will both react.
Don’t forget a lot of their program has been destroyed. What is left is the enriched uranium, but that is buried under rubble and can be recovered with time. But we have our eye on it.
I don’t believe they could put together 14 bombs at the moment. We are looking for a tangible commitment to denuclearization. In previous rounds of negotiations, the Iranians exposed themselves about their “peaceful nuclear program”. Trump offered Iran American enriched uranium at energy levels. And they denied the offer…. Free uranium, they said no. That means they want to enrich further to nuclear grade. That’s not acceptable.
If they wait Trump out by 2028, a demon rat Congress and an Islamist-socialist president would simply surrender and they’d finish up their arsenal. After that, gulf allies and Israel would face constant terrorism , destabilization because of Irans nuclear card if they push Iran too far. Iran would control the Hormuz and Red Sea.
Their goal is Islamist revolution using nuclear weapons as their safety card to give them impunity. The history is there if you have read it. Their first move ever was to destabilize saddams regime with Islamist terror attacks and murders to overthrow him and install sharia law and islamism….. tags why Saddam attacked them, not the left wing propaganda history. They also attacked Lebanon, and took Syria and most of Yemen. Destabilizing actions in all the regional nations.
Islamist revolution. That’s the goal. They can’t have a nuclear weapon. The people are too dumb here to understand the consequences.

The message of the title of a Pamela Geller article is has it so very is right on the mark ,therefore it be repeated, which is ”THE BEST DEAL WITH IRAN IS NO DEAL AT ALL.”
The reason why this is so is because any so deal with those still in power in that dangerous hostile menacing liars is daydream a, fantasy a fiction and a farce. In other words, it would be a “peace agreement.” that is would be bogus, a false peace, because it would be based on ta foundation of sand. It would be completely worthless, with no value at all.
To put this a different sort of way. Any kind of a “deal” with that dangerous hostile and menacing Islamic regime of Iran is a bad deal. Those deceptive disingenuous lair who are still in power of that belligerent tyranny will not be worth of paper that they might sign on that so called “peace agreement. ” They will no intention of keeping any of the promises that they agree to sign.
If that tyrannical Islamic is allowed to continue to exist it will restart its weapons manufacture system to attack American bases and the State of Israel. It would further supply Hamas and Hezbollah with deadly weapons. They will also come down severely hard in the most brutal cruel malicious and vicious ways on the patriotic good decent Iranian protesters who had been only after a genuine government that would ensure and respect the natural basic human rights of its citizens.
President Trump and the United States Congress and the heads of the Pentagon along this the head commanders US military of all the branches of the US . Should be very much aware that, in spite of those so-called “talks” with representatives of the Islamic regime of Iran. The intentions of despots still in power in that tyrannical e bellicose , hostile towards America as ever , since it began in the year 1979. As observed in two of its constant themes is “Death to the USA” and “Death to Israel.”
Therefore it should be made known and clear that if the founder of the current Islamic tyranny ,Ayatollah Khomeini would still be alive today ,he would spit on those Westerners who say that “Islam is a non-violent religion.”
If Ayatollah Khomeini had clearly announced that “Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war….There are hundreds psalms and hadiths urging of Muslims to value war and to fight. …I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.” [1] So if he was alive today who would spit on those Westerners who say that “Islam is a non-violent religion.” [1]
There are also many places in the Qu ‘ran that instruct in violence and killing for the cause of Islam. As found in ,for example Surah 2:191. 4:89.. 5:33. 9:5, 111,112 ,123. 47:4.

All you people who are cheering on war with Iran. The only way the US can defeat Iran militarily is to nuke the shit out of it, which would lead to WW3. Is that what you want? This is already stuffing up the world economy, & is going to lead to famine due to a lack of fertilizer etc. We are paying the price for this in Australia already through much higher petrol & food prices. The US cannot get their aircraft carriers within 1000 km of Iran due to the drones which Iran has. This is Vietnam version 2, some of you seem too short sighted to see that. Iran is not going to surrender. Are you going to attack every country you disagree with? North Korea must be next according to that. You don’t seem to understand, you are 40 trillion in debt and about to implode.
Frank Anderson says
From my reading, to which you are completely authorized to disagree, Iran is run by a suicidal “version” of orthodox Islam. Please see what you think about the “Twelvers”, who as I understand, desire to trigger an apocalypse to bring back the missing Twelfth Imam. According to my reading, Sha Islam seeks to bring about extreme conflict that almost certainly includes the USE of nuclear weapons as soon as they have enough of them for their goal. The fact they will be vaporized along with their targets is pleasant to them for the same reason there has never been a shortage of suicide bombers. Only when the leaders were being killed in response to the attacks did the attacks decline. If you wish I can identify several books from a spectrum of authors.
Islam declared and has conducted a war of world conquest for 1400 years, killing, depending on who is estimating and where they look, between 250 and 1000 million people and more every day. War is a unilateral declaration. It does not require agreement or ratification by the “other” side. Islam does not permit compromise, reform or moderation of ANY of its teachings and goals on penalty of death. That is ALL Islam, not just the delusional “radical” that many pretend to exist. Some are just more patient than others.
Are you ready to “convert, submit to humiliation and slavery, or die”? If Islam conquers Australia, those will be your choices unless you are Jewish, in which case death is your fate. Please read and learn for yourself.

North Korea, though it is undoubtedly an insanely evil entity, still operates I believe under rational “Mutual Assured Destruction” considerations.
Iran, on the other hand, does not. The following, attributed to Ayatollah Khomeini, pretty much sums it up “We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah … I say let this land burn … provided Islam emerges triumphant in the rest of the world.”
One way or another, something needs to be done about the Iranian regime. If, as many believe, the Democrats take over Congress in January, then there are essentially 2 months for Trump to do what needs to get done in Iran. After that, the Traitor Party will be free to continue its program of dismantling the U.S. ; if they win in 2028… adios America.
