UK dishes out 1,000+ free hijabs to illegal migrants on the taxpayer’s dime

From 2018 to 2025, the approximate cost to British taxpayers to house illegals arriving from mostly Africa and the Middle East was over 32 BILLION USD. According to Migration Watch UK:

In 2023, the think tank Policy Exchange released a report detailing the public cost of the crisis, estimating that the annual cost of the small boats crisis was “in the region of £3.5bn”. This would imply that, for the seven years from 2018 to 2025, the total cost is in excess of £24bn.

Now the Labour government is supplying hijabs to newly arrived migrants at taxpayer expense. Think what this gesture means to the dissident Iranian population inside Britain, and to the families of victims of the Islamic Republic of Iran who were murdered for not wearing hijab. The oppressive covering is mandated in Islam, lest a woman be “abused”:

“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only what is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment except to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack desire, or children who know nothing of women’s nakedness. And do not let them stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn to Allah together, O believers, so that you may succeed.” (Quran 24:31)

If a woman does not cover, she is fair game to be assaulted:

“O prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their veils close around them. That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not molested. Allah is always forgiving, merciful.” (Quran 33:59)

What a message the Labour government is sending to its citizens, who are paying for over a thousand hijabs.

Britain is thought to have dished out more than 1,000 hijabs to illegal migrants this year alone.

Internal Government figures show officials have been handing out 162 Muslim headscarves to so-called “asylum seekers” every month.

Home Office data unearthed by the Mail shows that between January and June, 974 hijabs were given to small boat migrants.

If that rate has continued, the total will have almost reached 1,500 by today.

A Home Office source told the newspaper it had a legal duty to provide basic clothing, including cultural and religious items, under the Short-term Holding Facility Rules.

The rules also say that migrants’ cultural and religious needs “must be catered for so far as is practicable” when they stay at places like the Manston processing centre in Kent.

The source added: “All arrivals receive a basic dry clothing pack where required. The items available form part of standard welfare arrangements.”

Reform UK MP Andrew Rosindell told GB News: “I don’t know why we should be giving these people anything.

“They’re coming in illegally, and if they’re coming in illegally, we shouldn’t be incentivising people by making them feel like they’re getting everything given to them on a plate….
