MEMRI reported months ago about “religious radicalization and Islamization in Syria, despite its public statements about commitment to the rule of law, pluralism, and civil equality, and although it enjoys considerable foreign support, including from the U.S. and other Western countries.”
Ahmed al-Sharaa is not only a former jihadist, but a current one, on a mission to change the face of Syria. Wherever Islamization happens, minorities are persecuted and women are inferiorized. Already, men are given the advantage in higher education, as indicated in the article below.
Also reported about Syria under al-Sharaa’s rule has been “mass sectarian violence against the country’s religious and ethnic minorities.” The Telegraph published a story last year: “Syria’s rebel leader courted the world. Now his forces stand accused of a massacre,” reporting that al-Sharaa’s government massacred “allegedly” 750 members of minority groups – Alawites, Christians and Druze. And according to Christian Solidarity International, a delegation of Syrian minorities participated in a press conference in Geneva on September 9, 2025, and their testimonies “voiced a shared concern”:
Without international engagement, Syria’s minorities will face extinction. The Alawite, Druze, Christian, Kurdish, and Yazidi speakers all described the same pattern: targeted killings, forced displacement, arbitary arrests, destruction of cultural sites, and systematic efforts to erase their presence.
Al-Sharaa also established a new constitution which “elevated Islamic jurisprudence as the principal source of legislation,” and an all-Sunni Fatwa Council was tasked to oversee its application.

An in-depth review of 130 Syrian school textbooks implemented under the administration of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa shows that Baathist, pan-Arabist, and secular governance frameworks have been substantially replaced by Sunni-Muslim identity and political Islamism.

Changes to Syria’s official school books are sparking criticism of the country’s new Islamist authorities as the nation tries to move on after 13 years of civil war and decades of authoritarian rule.
After ousting longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, Syria’s new authorities, led by former jihadist Ahmed al-Sharaa, have taken several conservative steps including imposing stricter dress codes for beaches and restricting alcohol sales, while some universities have limited certain courses to men only.
Now the textbook changes are drawing outcry, after they were pointed out last week by Syrian journalist Mohammad Salloum, drawing on a report by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se).
AFP confirmed several changes by consulting electronic versions of textbooks on official websites.
Among them was the removal of an image of the Mona Lisa from a seventh-grade history textbook, and the removal of images of statues emblematic of ancient Syrian civilisations in a third-grade social studies text.
In a fourth-grade Islamic education textbook, illustrations of several people wearing Western clothing were replaced with two separate drawings — one of two men in traditional robes, and another showing two women wearing the niqab….

And while DHS is at it, round up every last Muzzie in NYC and send them to Syria too.
