At least 12 people were killed and over 300 injured when a cruise missile that Yemen’s Houthi jihadists fired struck departure Terminal 3 at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Activist “Islamophobia” articles and condemnations about Israel’s war on jihadists occupy more space and get more attention among the Western woke mainstream media, than: Muslim on Muslim violence, Palestinian violence on Jewish civilians, black-on-black violence, which is a massive problem everywhere (not just in American inner cities, but across the Caribbean and Africa as well), and the ever-ignored Christian persecution, including a genocide in Nigeria by Muslims.
Houthis attacking Saudi Arabia and killing pilgrims doesn’t fit the narrative of Islam being a religion of peace; nor does it boost self-hating woke Westerners who loathe their own traditions. An article a decade ago in the Jerusalem Post pointed out “Muslims killing Muslims in droves, but Israel the one being condemned.” Back then, the number stood at around 12 million Muslims killed by other Muslims between 1948 and 2016. That number has significantly escalated in the last 10 years.
Western media continues to descend into global irrelevance only serving the purpose to dismantle the West, while aiding enemies.
“Houthi strikes torment pilgrims travelling to Islam’s holiest sites,” Arab Weekly, October 15, 2026:
Pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to visit Islam’s holiest sites may not have anticipated being caught up in an air war, but some experienced an attack by Yemen’s Houthis first hand and others have been forced to change their plans.
Footage of the massive blast that killed 13 people and wounded 300 in a Riyadh airport departure terminal struck by a Houthi missile on Saturday showed many passengers attired in the simple white clothes of Muslim pilgrims travelling to Mecca.
Saudi media reported that a Bangladeshi imam leading a group of dozens of pilgrims was killed and others wounded in the attack.
While the Houthis have promised not to attack either Mecca or Medina, the two holiest places in Islam that attract millions of pilgrims each year, they are targeting other Saudi airports in what they call retaliation for Saudi attacks on them.
“I feel deeply worried for my family and myself,” said Fadi Anwar, a Jordanian living in Mecca sitting in the courtyard of the main mosque in Mecca who was wearing the pilgrim’s robes.
“We constantly receive warnings (phone alerts from the authorities) and it causes us great anxiety.”
Saudi officials have said the kingdom is safe and that the security of visitors is valued above all else, an offer of reassurance even as Western governments have warned against using most Saudi airports….

The Saudi government is totally ineffective. They are a bunch of corrupt slackers. They’ve bought billions of military hardware from the USA for decades but find themselves at a loss on how to use it effectively.
This also applies to the Egyptian military, and the like.
It all boils down to the short-sighted culture and command structure within the ranks of Arab militaries themselves.
Many Arab military structures were historically designed or adapted by post-colonial governments primarily for domestic regime survival and internal security rather than fighting external wars.
Rulers often view a strong, independent, or charismatic military officer as a political threat. Consequently, promotions are frequently based on political loyalty, kinship, or sectarian alignment rather than military competence.
Decision-making is heavily concentrated at the very top of the chain of command, with little to no delegation of authority to lower tiers.
Junior officers and soldiers are rarely rewarded for taking initiative or deviating from a rigid plan. In a chaotic modern battlefield, waiting for approval from a distant superior leads to missed tactical opportunities.
FEAR of punishment or loss of face discourages honest reporting, meaning bad news or tactical failures are often hidden from senior commanders until it is too late.
There’s an absence of empowered NCOs: Effective modern armies rely heavily on a professional, experienced NCO corps to make split-second tactical adjustments on the ground.
In many traditional Arab militaries, a wide social and functional gap exists between the officer class (often from privileged or elite backgrounds) and the enlisted ranks, leaving lower tiers unempowered and uninspired.
Training styles frequently emphasize rote memorization of procedures, parade-ground precision, and script-following rather than critical thinking, problem-solving, or adaptable combined-arms maneuvers.
Post-conflict analysis is often stymied by political sensitivities, preventing institutional learning and the updating of military doctrine.
Political friction, paranoia, and historical mistrust among Arab states have repeatedly torpedoed joint military operations and coalition planning (such as during the 1967 Six-Day War)
Among Western military researchers consensus centers on how autocratic governance, institutional nepotism, and cultural emphasis on obedience over innovation systematically handicap conventional military performance.

I heard a theory from Armin Navabi that the Saudis smartly decided to make their military pretty weak and depend exclusively on foreign mercenaries. They noticed how other Arab monarchies were toppled in military coups – Iraq, Egypt, Libya, and didn’t want that to befall themselves. So they kept their militarily weak enough that it could never topple the monarchy
It was a smart tactic that served them well for several decades. The problem comes during times like this, when their military being weak means that they are too powerless to defend themselves against the Houthis, and have to beg rivals like Turkey and Pakistan to protect them. In 1990, during Operation Desert Shield, Saddam Hussein demonstrated how Riyadh was a paper tiger, and the Houthis have emphasized that point this year
What you have said above about Arab military acumen is true. However, Riyadh compounds it even more by its defense policies

That makes an awful lot of sense to me.
The Saudi government is simply too dumb and complacent to anticipate such eventualities way beforehand.

Moslem on moslem violence.
And that’s a bad thing?
Nope, I’d encourage it. As long as they are attacking each other they aren’t going after Christians or members of other religions.

Knowing that Saudi Arabia – like Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and other Muslim countries – fund Islamic terror groups murdering Christians and other non-Muslims in countries like Nigeria, Congo, Mali, Sudan, Somalia, it is poetic justice that Muslims are now experiencing what they hand out. So, pardon me for feeling nothing toward Muslims being attacked and killed by other Muslims. When in recent months thousands of Alawites, Christians, Druze, Yazidis were savagely murdered in Syria by the Muslim savages of Ahmed al-Sharaa, no one said anything or did anything to stop the murder of men, women and children. The gutless Western media said nothing, the government of Canada that has sent millions of dollars to Gaza – in fact to Hamas – said nothing. So, screw the lot of you, you’ve earned whatever comes your way.

Oh. The. Humanity!
I’d be sympathetic to Saudi Arabia, given the strides they have made over the last decade in being less of a durqha country. But of all the people at that airport who were killed, the ones I’m least sympathetic towards would be the Mecca pilgrims, since chances are that they are durqhas

When others travel, or gather….such as for Christmas markets, villages, the holy days Jews celebrate, or Hindu festivals, muzzies make every attempt to cause fear and death.
This is a taste of their own medicine.

Yep! Consider how ironic it would be if it turned out that some of those 300 or 12 happened to be jihadists in their own countries, and were just here for the haj
