But of all her charges, the worst charge that Nobel Peace Prize laureate Navi Pillay levels against the state of Israel is that of “genocide.” Yes, I know half the world — the dumb and vicious half — also accuses Israel of “genocide.”
Genocide? What genocide? Here I am compelled to once again set out the facts and figures that gives the lie to that claim. There is nothing for it; I must repeat what I have posted at Jihad Watch several times before.
Let’s go over that “genocide” charge that Navi Pillay (and so many others) have made, shall we?
In 1967, when Israel took over Gaza, it had a population of 360,000. Today its population is two million. Is that “genocide”?
During the current war against Hamas,, the IDF has waged a tremendous campaign to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. It has dropped millions of leaflets, sent millions of text messages, and made millions of robocalls, all in order to warn civilians away from sites soon to be targeted. It has also employed the “knock-on-the-roof” technique to alert people living in apartment buildings to leave for their own safety. Is that “genocide”?
During the war in Gaza, the IDF has facilitated the entry into the Strip of nearly two million tons of humanitarian aid — food and medicine. It has also prevented Hamas, whenever it could, from stealing that aid for re-sale, so that it could reach its intended recipients. Is that “genocide”?

Israel facilitated and coordinated a mass polio vaccination campaign for children in the Gaza Strip in partnership with international agencies like the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, and COGAT (the Israeli military agency handling Palestinian civilian affairs). As a result, one million children were vaccinated. Is that “genocide”?
Israel has transported children from Gaza who needed specialized medical care and delivered them to Jordan. Is that “genocide”?
And now for some arithmetic:
According to Hamas, 74,000 people have died in Gaza during the last three years.
According to Israel, about 25,000 Hamas combatants have been killed.
That means there have been 49,000 non-Hamas deaths.
Now we need calculate how many of these 49,000 deaths were non-combat related.
Before the war, in Gaza an estimated 7,700 to 8,400 total baseline deaths per year resulted from all non-conflict natural causes (such as age-related illnesses, non-communicable diseases, and normal baseline rates of disease or accidents). So it is reasonable to assume there have continued to be about 8,000 deaths per year, or 667 per month, of causes unrelated to combat.During the 36 months of the war, from October 2023 to October 2026, 24,000 (667 x 36) people in Gaza died of non-combat related causes.
In addition, between 3,000 and 5,000 people in Gaza are believed to have been killed not by the IDF, but by rockets and missiles launched at Israel by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, that misfired and landed inside Gaza, sometimes resulting in civilian casualties. We can reasonably assume that 4,000 Gazans died from Hamas and PIJ misfirings.
So of the 49,000 deaths of non-Hamas people in Gaza, 21,000 civilians (49,000 minus 24,000 minus 4,000) died as a result of the IDF
How do those numbers stack up against other wars?
The UN has calculated that in all the wars fought since World War II, the civilian-to-combatant ratio was on average 9:1. In Afghanistan, the Americans brought that down to 3:1, and in Iraq, to 2:1.
In Gaza, 21,000 civilians died as a result of the war, and 25,000 Hamas combatants also died.
The civilian-to-combatant ratio in the Gaza war, then, is 21,000:25,000, or less than 1:1, a figure that no other military In the world has come close to achieving.
Which leads me to ask again — but this time, I am putting my question directly to Navi Pillay — what I asked at the beginning of this piece about her claim: Genocide? What genocide?
And to the Norwegian committee that awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to this ignoble creature, what do you have to say for yourselves?

There’s another simpler way to contradict the genocide nonsense and show that it literally doesn’t add up! According to official estimates, Israel has dropped 200,000 bombs on Gaza. Let’s say that a single bomb kills 10 people. 200,000 bombs equals 20 million people. Even congenital liars like Hamas only claim 70,000 deaths due to Israeli military action.
Obviously, Israelis are the most incompetent mass murderers in history. Two hundred thousand bombs for a paltry return of 70,000 deaths! C’mon Israel. You’re gonna have to up your game!
L.P.M. de de vette says
hi Buraq, I agree with you except that 200,000 boms X 10 equals 2 million, not 20
L.P.M. de de vette says
bombs in stead of boms

S this old lefty has recieved the Noble Peace Prize for hating Israel. This award has lost its meaning and has been corrupted by communists. The whole world is going to hell in a bread basket. I hope God comes back very soon to cleanse the corrupted world because it seems the christians are incapable of defending Christianity.
