Apparently her defense attorney wanted us to believe that she was just a crazy kid who had already suffered enough. That’s a shame, but what if she isn’t? What if she is a determined jihadi? What protection would the public have had in that event, if she had been found not guilty? Even as it is, she will be out again in a few years, and we can only hope that when she is released, she doesn’t do anything that could make officials regret having released her. But there is no way to tell while officials refuse to look into Islam or try to determine the depth of her Islamic commitment (about which she would be unlikely to be honest anyway).

“NYC native who became ISIS teen bride faces decade in prison as she’s found guilty of training with terror group,” by Ben Kochman, New York Post, October 27, 2026:
A New York City native who became an ISIS bride at just 18 faces up to a decade in federal prison after being found guilty Tuesday of training with the ruthless terror group.
Halima Salman, now 27, who had been accused of undergoing weapons training with the Islamic State in Syria, was convicted by a Brooklyn federal jury following three days of deliberations and a weeklong trial.
The case marked the first time that a woman faced trial in the US on charges of joining ISIS.
“With today’s verdict, Salman is held accountable for joining forces with a terrorist organization,” said Joseph Nocella Jr., US attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
“ISIS ravaged Syria and caused havoc across the globe; our Office will continue to prosecute those who supported its murderous reign,” he said in a statement.
The Brooklyn-born Salman testified in her own defense that her father had forced her to marry a militant fighter, Abu Ali, when she was 18 after he moved the family to ISIS-controlled territory in 2016.
Salman told jurors that her father, an ISIS supporter killed in a 2018 airstrike, had moved the family — including her mother and eight siblings — first to his home country of Turkey before tricking them into traveling into the terror group’s clutches in Syria….
“You can come back here in five minutes with a not-guilty verdict… this is a grave miscarriage of justice,” defense lawyer Mia Eisner-Grynberg told the jury in her closing statement Thursday.
The attorney attempted to cast the alleged terror trainee as a former Brooklyn Girl Scout with a passion for sewing and craft making who has already “been through hell and back.”

Unless one was personally in the courtroom, listening to everything the jury heard, he has no idea as to whether the defendant is guilty. But, I trust the Assistant United States attorney who prosecuted the case to only bring legitimate charges at the government could prove, and I believe that the jury in this case do we deliberated and came up with unanimous verdict after three days.
There is no such thing as parole in the federal system. But, an inmate can earn up to 54 days of good behavior credit every year. So, she may be able to shave about a year off of her sentence, but Only with good behavior.

Did she disavow any and all subjugation of non muslims by muslims. Did she disavow all the slaughtering of others, including muslims? Did she swear that she will be a loyal citizen of the US who will never betray the constitution of the US. My…. guess…. no to any of those. So why would anyone want this one in this country.

More and more, we are seeing adults as old as 30 described as “kids” and being excused for all sorts of crimes. Another serious problem in the West.

Could we just sentence her to a long prison term which would include hard labor?

Tell me that’s not the face a of a pig in a burka.

Well, I guess she realized that she wasn’t going to be considered for a beauty contest, so her next best decision was to be a jihadist and become famous.
