As numerous news outlets have reported, with ICE as the source, the man who assaulted activist Jake Lang on August 2, 2026 in Dearborn was previously convicted of murder in Detroit.

A suspect in a caught-on-camera attack on right-wing provocateur Jake Lang is a “criminal illegal alien from Iraq” who previously served a lengthy prison sentence for a murder in Detroit, according to the feds.
Abbas Abdoush, 57, emigrated to the US from Iraq in 1992, but lost his legal status when he was convicted of second-degree murder in 1999, a year after intentionally crashing a borrowed van into a woman, according to court records viewed by Detroit News.
Abdoush served more than 15 years and was ordered to be removed from the US in June 2022, according to ICE.
However, he was arrested Aug. 2 at the annual Arbaeen celebration in Muslim-heavy Dearborn for allegedly assaulting Lang as the controversial campaigner shouted anti-immigrant, pro-ICE rhetoric through a bullhorn from the sidewalk….
Another video shows a man punching Lang from behind before several others chased him through a parking lot, pummeling him and pelting him with rocks until an officer put him in a police cruiser and told the crowd to disperse, the outlet writes.
Abdoush was arrested along with two 25-year-old men, one from Detroit and another from Dearborn.
ICE arrested the “criminal illegal alien from Iraq” when he was released from police custody on Aug. 5.
“Abdoush was legally admitted to the United States in 1992 and eventually became an [Lawful Permanent Resident]. He later violated the terms of that legal admission following a 1999 conviction for murder,” the agency said in a statement, noting he was ordered removed from the US in June 2022….

…The agency said he was ordered removed from the United States in 2022, but he appealed the ruling, and the case remains pending before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
His murder conviction was handed down after Abdoush killed a woman by intentionally striking her with his vehicle in southwest Detroit on January 25, 1998, according to court records.
‘Two witnesses observed the victim standing on Michigan Avenue in Detroit, talking to someone in a van,’ the appellate court said.
‘As the victim walked away from the van, the driver attempted to hit her. The van continued on Michigan Avenue, made a U-turn, came back toward the victim at a high rate of speed, hit the victim, ran over her, and continued driving.’
According to appellate court records, police found the victim lying face down in the street and gurgling. Four days later, she suffered a stroke and died….
Although Abdoush has been ordered for removal since 2022, he was still around four years later, hitting people from behind, because in this crazy world we live in today, it is easier to wage war against the Islamic Republic of Iran than it is to deport a Muslim illegal immigrant murderer from Dearborn.
