Last month, the Guardian produced a film called NAZA. It was described as detailing “systems behind Israel’s mass killings in Gaza.” The word NAZA is Hebrew, word derived from the military acronym for Nezek Agavi, which means “collateral damage.” The Guardian’s NAZA film promoters boast that Oscar-winning Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor went behind the scenes “to obtain testimony from 24 Israeli military insiders, shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv.”

Consider this: If filmmakers went behind the scenes to create a documentary about civilians killed in World War II, and then interviewed soldiers of the Allied forces who objected to the war to begin with, compounded with the toll of PTSD, you’d get a very different picture about World War II. You’d come to a biased conclusion about the necessity of the war to begin with. Even worse, your view about the targeted enemy might become skewed. The presentation of the emotionally charged deaths of civilians would overshadow the horrors of Hitler’s regime and the mission of his Third Reich. There were a staggering 45 million civilian deaths in World War II. While certain antiwar propagandists blame the Allied forces for several incidents with heavy civilian casualties, the collateral damage was the fault of Nazism. If such a film was created emphasizing the collateral damage of World War II, without giving any of the reasons for such damage, it would amount to an ideological assault on truth and a boost to Nazism. It would also result in a glorification of Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich, as it would obscure the real victims and the facts about why World War II was necessary.
Now imagine a film telling a tragic story of civilian deaths in Gaza, combined with powerful testimony from soldiers who disapproved of the war. What a public relations campaign this is for HAMAS (Ḥarakah al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah. that is, the Islamic Resistance).
Worse than Hamas propaganda. I have now seen the documentary NAZA in its entirety, and it is worse than I imagined. Over three years, I’ve tried not to be surprised by ignorance, disinformation, and distortions relating to war, but this is at the top for many reasons.
I will write a detailed analysis soon, but one of the worst, a massive claim displayed in the middle of the film, in bright yellow against a black screen: “Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians in Gaza.”
Not even Hamas says this. Meaning not even Hamas claims Israel has killed every Palestinian that has died in Gaza since October 7th. Hamas has publicly killed Palestinians to maintain power in the Gaza. There have been battles between Hamas and anti-Hamas clans. Up to 20% of the 12,000 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rockets fired at Israel fell inside Gaza. Recent Hamas reporting shows natural deaths on their list. To say every person that died in Gaza was killed by Israel is a vulgar lie.
There are a lot of other lies, lies by omission, and lies of ignorance in NAZA, but this claim is unique and follows the lies, damned lies, and statistics for accusations that go against the actual number put out by Hamas or reality.
More to follow on Naza.

In addition, the film is also a boon for Iran and its proxies, all of which have the same mission to annihilate the tiny Jewish state of Israel. The jihadist enemies of Israel also aim to subjugate and conquer the globe, in accordance with Islamic tenets.
It is good to see that the film received fierce backlash, and Israel was not about to allow this vicious propaganda to go unchallenged. Israel created its own NAZA film.
Don’t miss the truthful version of the Israeli produced NAZA: The Real Story:
Wellington says
Seems that unless the IDF when it goes to war produces virtually no casualties, an absurdity on its face, it will be accused of so much that so many other militaries rarely if ever are. All of which is dispositive of a deep-rooted and rank antisemitism which unfortunately is as perennial as the grass.
