Hizballah has long been active in Latin America. According to a RAND Corporation report, the lack of scrutiny on this is “particularly concerning.” The report identifies the diminished focus as a consequence of shifting U.S. priorities to “challenges posed by China and Russia at the expense of combating international terrorism in such theaters as Latin America.” “Hezbollah sends Latin American recruits to Lebanon for training before targeting Jewish communities,” by Danielle Greyman-Kennard, Jerusalem Post, October 22, 2026:
Hezbollah is increasingly recruiting convicted felons in Latin America, targeting individuals with financial difficulties who harbor resentment toward the courts – while relaxing its requirements for ideological alignment – according to a new Washington Institute for Near East Policy assessment. The report was written by Lucas Gualtieri, a Brazilian federal prosecutor who specializes in organized crime and Hezbollah’s use of criminal networks.
Operation Trapiche, a counterterrorism operation launched by Brazil’s Federal Police in November 2023 with support from Israel’s Mossad, has shed light on Hezbollah’s efforts to outsource operatives, as well as on criminal revenue generation and financial services in Latin America, building capabilities the terrorist group can plausibly deny if confronted.

Only a month after October 7, 2023, Brazilian authorities foiled a Hizballah plot against Jewish targets. The Rand report further noted that Latin America is ripe for Hizballah expansion “where security infrastructure may be less developed.” This expansion also poses “a distinct risk to U.S. interests throughout the region.”
Now that Hizballah is amplifying its recruitment in Latin America, with focus on convicted felons and those with financial difficulties, the issue can no long afford to be neglected. The jihad expands everywhere while useful idiots in the West downplay or ignore what is happening. And as usual, the Jewish community is the prime target, but not exclusively. As I wrote on Jihad Watch in 2019, Canada focuses on “Islamophobia” while Hizballah expands operations in the country. The article began: “Hezbollah’s external operations group, known as Unit 910” is reported to be “even more active in Canada than they were in the United States.” Ali Kourani, “member of Hezbollah’s external operations unit, the Islamic Jihad Organization….collected ‘detailed information’ about Toronto’s Pearson airport.” This was according to a report circulated by Canada’s air safety agency; and Kourani was not operating alone.
There was only one reason why a member of Iran’s proxy Hizballah’s external operations unit could have possibly been collecting “detailed information” on Toronto Pearson’s International Airport. It was with the intention to plan jihad attacks at an unknown time at Toronto airport.
The jihad is patient and determined. The West has ignored its global progress for far too long.

Latin America is a vast expanse that comprises Mexico at its northernmost and Chile, Argentina and Uruguay at its south with most countries in between. Only a few of these countries appear to be affected.
The RAND report linked to in the article is stale (e.g. Venezuela is probably no longer a country in which Hizb’allah can operate). Also, it shows sporadic incursions over the years, rather than operational Hizb’allah strongholds. The documented events in the RAND report, from 1992-2024 do not reflect the present! The methodology, as stated in the report, is flawed and cannot support the conclusion reached.
The only thing that I find accurate and of concern, is Hizb’allah’s drug connections, which they use to partly finance their operations. Also, the general problem of illegal drugs is a major drag on western society. But Trump’s campaign to summarily eliminate drug runners on the high seas must have put a dent in Hizb’allah’s drug activities.
If you look to the present, Hizb’allah in Lebanon was decimated by Israel, and I predict it will soon collapse. Every day, Israel is cleaning out Hizb’allah’s tunnels and weapons stores, and support from the IRGC is dwindling to a trickle. Pretty soon the Lebanese government will be back in control and Hizb’allah will be reduced to a paper tiger. Check back in a couple of months for an accurate picture,

Anyway, once they get to Lebanon, Israel can bomb them and have them join their Hizbullah comrades who have been completely destroyed. Next target should be the islamic republic itself
