The audacity of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is yet again on full display. Could CAIR honestly believe that the State Department will do its bidding in Azerbaijan? Likely not, but CAIR’s gesture is more about making a statement than expressing an expectation.
Despite CAIR’s shaky ground, it continues business as usual, not in protecting human rights, as its cronies on the left claim, but in advancing Sharia principles and anti-Israel rhetoric. A bill entitled the Designate CAIR as a Terrorist Organization Act was introduced to the U.S. Congress, intended to direct the Department of State to review whether CAIR qualified to be designated a terrorist entity. But the bill remains stalled. However on a state level, the governors of Texas and Florida have designated CAIR a terrorist organization within their states. Governor Gregg Abbott’s proclamation can be read HERE. A month later, Governor Ron DeSantis issued a formal state-level executive order designating CAIR a terrorist organization. See HERE.
Despite America’s largest terrorism funding case, the Holy Land Foundation trial, which established connections between CAIR and Hamas and resulted in CAIR’s designation as an unindicted co-conspirator, the organization refuses to budge. CAIR’s relentless determination is typical of stealth and violent jihadists who never surrender to infidels. The level of audacity is beyond general Western comprehension.
Regarding the hijab, this is what CAIR supports:
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only what is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment except to their own husbands or fathers or husbands’ fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters’ sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack desire, or children who know nothing of women’s nakedness. And do not let them stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn to Allah together, O believers, so that you may succeed.” (Quran 24:31)
If a woman does not cover, she is fair game to be assaulted:
“O prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their veils close around them. That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not molested. Allah is always forgiving, merciful.” (Quran 33:59)
CAIR expects America to not only comply to its Sharia principles, but to be its obedient servant and do its bidding in Azerbaijan, too, while CAIR writes deceitfully about caring about “religious freedom.” No religion cares about religious freedom less than Islam.

“CAIR Calls on State Department to Urge Azerbaijan To Reverse Bigoted and Fascist Hijab Ban,” CAIR, October 12, 2026:
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on the State Department to urge the government of Azerbaijan to reverse its ban on students and staff from wearing the hijab in schools.
The law approved last month stopped short of explicitly banning the Muslim headscarf but barred clothing in schools that the government said violates the “principle of secularism.” The law sparked protests as some teachers and students were barred from attending classes.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“Religious freedom is a bedrock principle of international law that every member of the United Nations has pledged to uphold. Banning Muslim teachers and students from attending public school unless they remove their hijabs is a persistent threat to religious freedom in several European countries and several former Soviet states, now including Azerbaijan.
“We stand in solidarity with Muslim teachers, students and families in Azerbaijan and we strongly condemn the government’s bigoted and fascist hijab ban. Banning Muslim teachers and students from public school if they wear hijab represents an attack on not only the Muslim community, but the basic principle of religious freedom….

How dare they even think to use the US State Department in such a way. How about plucking out the eyes of all allahs followers, since they are unable to see a woman and NOT lust after her? This is the United States of America, not an archaic and backward tribe of the 7th century!
This is why they can never coexist with us or any other. They have a mass murdering prophet and god who they believe is “the best of man” who mandates our destruction and elimination until all the world follows him. Why does the US pretend this isn’t so? It’s written for all to see and read. What’s wrong with our politicians? Can they read?
Maybe we should just sue the USCIS and all government that supports them. They do NOT belong in the US,and CAIR needs to be abolished.

The U.S. Department of State’s mission is to protect and promote U.S. security, prosperity, and democratic values, and to shape an international environment in which all Americans can thrive. I dont see where intervening in an Azerbaijan hijab ban has anything to do with that.

The goons of cair….busybodies….announce things they are doing, and what they pretend to be (a civil rights org*)… as if they are an actual news organization writing about some other entity.
Mr. Rubio could be looking at RICO and cair. It’s not his job to police other nations’ actions on behalf of muzzies everywhere.
My personal contempt for cair increases by the millisecond..

Well, Azerbaijan is a Muslim country, while it’s not islamic – 65% Twelver shi’a – like the islamic republic next door, and 35% either sunni or non-denominational muslim. Their hijab ban is no different from other restrictions on islamic activity enforced in other muslim countries like Saudi Arabia, Emirates, et al
Why would the State Department bother? Particularly when Azerbaijan is one of the allies against the islamic republic, which even saw one bomb fall on them at Nakhchivan. Last thing that the US should do is what the Bush Administration did to Uzbekistan in the 00s – their embassy being critical of Tashkent in the 00s which angered them enough that they shut down the 2 US bases there
Let other countries make their own decisions on how to deal w/ muslims/islam
