There are many stories out of Pakistan of Christians being imprisoned for supposedly committing blasphemy and insulting Islam, but such stories are not so common coming out of Egypt, which is supposedly a less Sharia-adherent and tolerant place than the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. But Sharia blasphemy laws remain a significant element of the culture of all too many majority-Muslim countries, and they can be used to victimize Christians and other religious minorities at any time.

MINYA (22 October 2026) — Six young Christian men have spent two weeks in prison for sharing a TikTok post that authorities considered offensive to Islam. The video featured an audio clip from a popular Egyptian comedy film, which depicts a scene of prisoners who are unfamiliar with the Quranic prayers. The six, all between the ages of 17 and 23, posted the video simply reenacting the scene from the movie. Days later, they were detained and questioned by police on charges of “exploiting” and “insulting” the Islamic religion.
“This is tragically common in Egypt, where Christians face threats, discrimination, and ultimately imprisonment for speech that is only seen as problematic because they are not part of the majority religion. These young men did nothing but share a lighthearted video with a voiceover from a popular and uncontroversial film, as many others on the platform have done. There is no reason to charge or imprison them.
We have seen far too many cases of this nature in Egypt. Christians should never have to fear punishment for sharing a post. We urge the authorities to release these six young men and drop any investigations against them immediately.“

“Christian persecution has been a persistent problem in Egypt for many years. We have seen countless cases of individuals who are targeted and punished for nothing more than expressing their beliefs. Egypt must take action to address this crisis and protect freedom of speech and religious freedom for all,” Zorzi added.

Islam and its Muslims are a continuous, terroristic threat against all Non-Muslims with Muslim violence, terrorism, discrimination, and segregation as taught by Allah in Islamic Law and in Islam’s Qur’an(Qur’an 9:5, 29, 41, 111; 49:15, etc.). Allah in Qur’an 5:51 commands, “O you who have believed[Muslims], DO NOT TAKE the Jews and the Nasara(Christians) as friends. They are friends to one another. And whoever among you takes them as friends, so surely he is of them. Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” Also, Allah in Qur’an 5:82 says that Jews are the worst enemies of the Muslims.
Islam’s Muslims are to engage in war for Allah’s sake to make Islam, Islamic Law, supreme over all. Hence, Muslims, Terrorists of Allah, receive a great reward when they engage in war for Allah against Allah’s enemies, the Non-Muslims, whether Muslims live or die. Therefore, Public Funding is a privilege that should not be granted to organizations that are against the US Constitution. Islam, a Criminal-Terrorist-Gang Enterprise, is against the US Constitution for Muslim funding, teaching, and promoting discrimination, hatred, rape, segregation, violence, totalitarianism, and terrorism(Qur’an 4:74 and more). Allah in Qur’an 4:74 says, “So let those who purchase the world’s life for the hereafter engage in war for the sake of Allah. And whoever engages in war for the sake of Allah, whether he is killed or victorious, so we will give him a great wage.”
