Selma Blair is, or was until very recently, a well-respected actress in Hollywood. She is also Jewish, not in the mold of Wallace Shawn and Peter Beinart, who detest the Jewish state, but in that of Jamie Lee Curtis and Debra Messing, who have defended the embattled state from the corner of Hollywood and Vine. Robert Spencer has written here about the story of what has happened to her since she came out in defense of Israel, and there is more here: “Selma Blair Announces Documentary About Antisemitism, Recounts Being Canceled in Hollywood,” by Shiryn Ghermezian, Algemeiner, October 5, 2026:

Jewish actress Selma Blair announced on Thursday that she is making a documentary about antisemitism and talked about the fallout she faced in Hollywood for making a controversial comment after the Hamas-led terrorist attacks in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
The documentary will be called “Hineni,” a Hebrew term that translates to “Here I am.” Blair made the announcement at a reception in New York City hosted by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in honor of its new “State of the Arts” initiative, which highlights the seclusion and repression of Jewish and Israeli talent in museums, live entertainment, and publishing.
“Two years ago, I learned what erased feels like, and I’ve decided the opposite of erased is making something. So, I’m making a film,” Blair said in her speech at the ADL reception. “The last time I let cameras in, it was about my body. This time it’s about my people. It’s a documentary about antisemitism, and as confounding and confusing as it seems to be because no one wants to talk about geopolitics. But it seems to get intermingled completely … I wanted to make this for the people who are not in this room.”
No apology was needed. She did not speak an untruth. And the “fate” to which she referred is not necessarily physical punishment. It could be that their “fate” would be the showing up of what Selma Blair calls their “twisted justifications,” or their being ostracized, as has happened to defenders of Israel such as Selma Blair.
“Antisemitism has to stop. Not be managed. Not be explained. Not be weighed against something else. Stop,” Blair said in conclusion. “Two years ago, the phone stopped. Tonight I’m the one talking, in a room full of my own people, saying the thing out loud. I’m a Jew. I’m still here. Hineni.”
“Hineni” means in Hebrew — I’ve just looked it up — “I am here.” She stood up for the embattled Jewish state, that so many in Hollywood, as elsewhere, are so busy maligning, and as a consequence, Selma Blair was sent to Coventry. She lost everything: “The brands I worked with were gone within a day. A few partnerships I’d spent years building were shelved. My agency was gone. My lawyer was gone. My publicist was gone. My book agent was gone. My book publicist was gone. My social media manager was gone. My son’s godmother was gone – my best friend. While some friends in the business quietly stood by me, most of them were gone. And of course, my manager, my supposed friend of 30 years, and a Jew, was gone too. I still don’t know what any of them were thinking. No one returned my calls. I know the phone stopped. Not rang less. Just stopped.”
Selma Blair is now back, slowly rebuilding her career, with the help of other agents, managers, and friends. And she is making a movie about antisemitism. Selma Blair will no doubt have a lot to say in this film, which in part is a riposte to all those who set her adrift after she stood with Israel. When that movie comes out, see it.

Kudos for her on speaking out. Although I against celebrities making political statements, I am for Selma fighting back against anti Semitism.
I will go to the film!

Hollywood used to be a very pro-American phenomenon (examples being Clark Gable, Bob Hope, Ginger Rodgers, James Cagney, Jeanette MacDonald, John Wayne, Barbara Stanwyck, Maureen O’Hara and Jimmy Stewart) but no longer is this the case and the few in Hollywood (now Hollyweird) who are conservative are, how ironic, blacklisted one way or another.
Hollywood needs to collapse, much as do so many other institutions in America such as higher education, if America is to be kept America. While I certainly detest Islam, I just as much detest the Left which has ruined everything it touches, including Hollywood, higher education, the Democratic Party and women’s sports. The Left gets nothing right. Nothing.

Wellington,
100% true.
And to your point, James Stewart was promoted in 1959 to Brigadier General in the United States Air Force, becoming the highest-ranking actor in American military history.
He notably logged 20 combat missions during World War II.
He served for 27 years – active and reserve – officially retiring from the Air Force on May 31, 1968.
Part of the greatest generation and a true American hero.

The return of Hollywood blacklists only this time around its OK to be a commie in Hollywood. It is also OK to be a savage that seeks out women and children to brutalize. The certifiably insane thing about this is Hollywood could never exist in islam. We have way to many people out there that are willingly commuting ritual suicide. When I was younger if I had known that the world would become this screwed up I would have had more fun.
