The UN, or rather, one of its mr.-buttinsky agencies, has “demanded” that the UK put up monuments to, and name streets after, black Africans. It wants school curricula in the UK to cover black slavery even more than they already do. In short, the UK is being asked to engage in one long howl of “mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.” Can a demand that British taxpayers pay hundreds of billions of dollars to the corrupt leaders of black African countries be far behind?

The United Nations wants the United Kingdom to transform its streets, monuments, and school curricula as part of a ‘reparations’ policy for its historical involvement in the African slave trade.
The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) adopted its new General Recommendation No. 40 on August 25, devoted to “reparatory justice” for colonialism, the trafficking of enslaved Africans, and racialized slavery.
Among the proposed measures is a reshaping of the monumental landscape of former slave-trading countries.
According to documents reported by The Telegraph, the experts believe that public spaces should “honour the contributions of people of African descent” and acknowledge the abuses committed by those who participated in or benefited from slavery. In practice, this could mean new statues, works of art, memorials, or the dedication of public spaces.
Apparently the UN wants a gigantic building project in the West African countries from which UK slavers bought their humans for shipment to the New World — bought them, that is, from other black Africans. Do you think those countries will be putting up monuments to those blacks — the ones who sold other blacks into slavery?
It’s not exactly clear, but I think the UN Agency also wants similar monuments, memorializing the Atlantic Slave Trade, in the UK itself. Presumably that will leave white Britishers in a permanent state of shame and chagrin at what their ancestors may have done. No one at this point would be churlish enough to point out that fewer than one in a thousand British citizens ever took part in the slave trade; collective guilt — for whites — is all the rage.
CERD is composed of independent experts, and its recommendations, which are obviously not binding, interpret the obligations arising from the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The committee calls for textbooks and school curricula to be reviewed to ensure what it considers an “accurate” interpretation of the transatlantic slave trade and its consequences, to combat what it describes as misinformation about its present-day effects, and to promote policies against xenophobia, hate speech, and ideologies of racial superiority. It also urges political leaders to explain to the public the importance of reparatory justice.
Most of the “misinformation” consists of this: in the Western world we have been taught to believe that white men came to West Africa, seized black slaves, and took them back to North America. The key element is seldom mentioned: the whites never penetrated beyond the shore, but instead they bought their slaves from blacks who had seized them from other tribes and sold them to the whites. I wonder if the members of CERD want that to be emphasized in the new and improved textbooks they have called for.
The recommendation comes five months after the General Assembly approved, by 123 votes in favour, three against, and 52 abstentions, a Ghana-sponsored resolution backed by the African Union that declared the trafficking of Africans and their racialized enslavement “the gravest crime against humanity.” The United Kingdom and every EU member state abstained.
Really? Was the slave trafficking across the Atlantic worse than the Holocaust and the endless series of pogroms that the Jewish people endured? Worse than the 70-80 million Hindus whom Muslims murdered during the centuries of Mughal rule? Worse than the 40 million people who were killed over 200 years by the Mongol conquerors? Worse than the 60 million Indians who died in South America as a result of the Spanish conquest? Oh, and one more thing: was the Atlantic Slave Trade worse than the Arab Slave Trade? Decidedly not, for the Arab slave trade started centuries earlier, lasted longer, and claimed millions more victims than did the Atlantic slave trade. About that, I’ll have more to say at 4 p.m.

In the past many countries have participated in slavery including Britain, but Britain did more than any other country in the world to put a stop to it, particularly the transatlantic slave trade. Slavery was still prevalent in several islamic countries as recent as the nineteen sixties and seventies, where you could even purchase a sex slave, something that was never allowed in Britain. I’m sure those that were being sold into slavery would rather go to Britain than any muslim country, I know I would. The first thing the Arabs would do to any male slave was to castrate them. Yet according to the UN we the British are the only bad guys, and no one else.

As Douglas Murray in his work, The War On The West, details, in the 19th century the West African Squadron of the British fleet, then the largest navy in the world, formed about a fifth of the entire British navy and it was intricately involved in stopping the Atlantic slave trade. Some 1500 British sailors perished in this noble effort—and perhaps their families should be compensated for this (ain’t gonna’ happen because only Western Civilization is a guilty civilization).
So tired of only the West being blamed for things all of humanity did. It is indeed reverse racism. Guess there will not come a day when the Islamic world will be held to account for its involvement in slavery, and which actually still continues to this very day in the dreg-like Islamic world.
