The Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally, withdrew the award she gave to a Muslim cleric who praised Osama bin Laden on the anniversary of 9/11. But that wasn’t enough. The truth is that the revocation of Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi’s award did nothing to change the core beliefs of Lambeth Place, which had stated: “The Archbishop’s office said that Ashrafi was being honored for ‘his outstanding work as an ambassador of interfaith harmony in Pakistan, known for his commitment to promoting religious tolerance.'” The Archbishop of Canterbury only revoked the award for a specific and familiar reason: pressure due to a backlash. The fact that Mullally issued the award in the first place signifies the truth about her leadership as Archbishop of Canterbury.
Backlash works, and it is generally the only way to get leftist authorities to budge, since they have little to no respect for Western free societies, including their own. As a matter of course, in their arrogance, they continuously perpetuate the lie that “colonialism” is responsible for the ills of Africa and the Middle East, when Islam predates colonialism. Islam itself remains a colonizing religion to this day, with black slavery included in Mauritania, Sudan, Algeria, Libya, and the kafala system in most Middle Eastern and Gulf countries. Leftists are also blind to the treatment of women and of gays in these countries, let alone among al-Qaeda operatives.
Leftists are inclined to gullibility, and thus Islamic supremacists (a.k.a. stealth jihadists) exploit them with ease. Champions of DEI operate on the premise of leftist ignorance, assuming, at least publicly, that anyone who joins them in any endeavor in the name of DEI has good intentions; they ignore history and the facts about Islamic expansionism, which include the reality of taqiyya and the notorious statement from Muhammad that “war is deceit” (Riyad as-Salihin 1352).
It’s now time to challenge Mullally’s leadership; this will set an overdue precedent in the face of a scandal that threatens the credibility of her office. Many other leftist leaders in the Church also need to be challenged in their roles, as they are no more than blind guides. Their ideologies are not only a danger to their Churches, but also to their respective countries.

A Change.org petition calling for the Church of England leader’s resignation gained traction over the weekend after petition creator Emma Ash provided an update Friday. The petition was initially created eight months ago when Mullally became the first female leader of the Church of England.
“Since this petition launched, a further incident has raised serious questions about [judgment], due diligence, accountability, and the place given to survivor voices at the highest level of the Church of England,” Ash wrote. “On Friday 11th September 2026, the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the Archbishop of Canterbury presented the Hubert Walter Award for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation to Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi.”
As explained by Ash, “Ashrafi had previously attracted controversy for remarks concerning Osama bin Laden. In 2007, he said that bin Laden ‘must be given the lofty title of Islam, Saifullah,’ meaning ‘Sword of God.’ His representatives dispute suggestions that the remarks amounted to an endorsement of bin Laden.”…

Southern Baptist Convention President Willy Rice has proposed amending the Baptist Faith & Message in response to what he considers cultural confusion over gender and marriage.
Speaking before the SBC Executive Committee on Monday, Rice said that marriage has been “redefined in ways unprecedented in human history,” while “the very nature of humanity expressed in God’s created order [has been] rejected, as if by the stroke of a pen one can reorder reality.”
Rice stressed that “Southern Baptists believe there is only one definition of marriage, and there are only two genders” and denounced cultural trends to the contrary as “assaults on the truth of God and His creation.”
“I’m asking this Executive Committee to consider a historic act,” Rice said, according to Baptist Press. “I’m asking you to recommend to our convention adding an article to the Baptist Faith & Message to address the specific issue of gender and human sexuality.”

Rice suggested that the proposed amendment be modeled after a statement that was adopted in 2022 by First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida, which read in part:

Sigh. This just reminds me of how those of us who are against Islamification can count on no organization. Christians should all be against it, but many of them seem to welcome as many Muslims into the West as possible. The Jews should be against it, but again, many of them want (or wanted prior to October 7) open borders, and many seem to feel that if we expel the Muslims, they will be next. Hindus? Some of them have said they will prevent Britain from turning Muslim, but I see no evidence that they are doing so. Buddhists? There are too few of them in the West to matter.
The left? No. Commies, who used to scorn religion as the opiate of the people? No. Feminists? No. Homosexuals? No. Secularists? No, perhaps because they have overestimated the power of the religious right and believe that Muslims would provide a balance (but I’m just guessing). Animal rights groups? Not after some of them sided with the Muslims who had tortured that baby dolphin.
Conservatives? Some of them want open borders because it will mean lower labor costs. Libertarians? Many of them want open borders. How about the far right (and I mean the actual far right and not what the left calls the far right)? They are too focused on the Jews to care what happens with Muslims, plus they have an annoying tendency to attribute terrorist acts to the Jews that anyone can see were done by Muslims.
So, how about countries? Greece broke away from the Ottomans comparatively recently, so are they all dead set against Islamification? Not that I can tell. Hungary? I lost faith after Orban lost the last election. Maybe the new guy will be against it, but I am not counting on it. Poland? While these eastern European countries seem more resistant than those in Western Europe, my impression is that policies can change instantly with a single election.
China? Yes, China is against Islamification, but that does not mean that they will be of any help to us, nor does it mean that Chinese-Americans are against it. Ditto for other east Asian countries.
So, those of us who are against the Islamification of the West are basically alone, plus the powers that be insists that we are Nazis.
This is one reason why I am so pessimistic about the future.
