The Oxfordshire hamlet of Piddington — not to be confused with Piddington Magna or Piddington-super-Mare or Little Piddington — has just declared its independence from the United Kingdom. Its inhabitants were simply fed up with the Home Office in Whitehall forcing them to welcome into their bucolic midst illegal migrants, claiming to be “asylum seekers” who, you will not be surprised to learn, are overwhelmingly young Muslim males, the very people whom sad experience in the UK has shown are ready to rob and rape and rumble. Piddington has voted to secede from the United Kingdom for the second time in a damning rebuke to Home Office plans to leave locals outnumbered by asylum seekers in the Oxfordshire village.
The symbolic referendum – dubbed the “Battle for Britain” by residents – was held by Piddington Parish Council amid Labour proposals to house 1,256 male asylum seekers at a nearby disused military site.
Piddington, which is home to just 350 residents, held its first vote on July 4.
The Labour government is prepared to inflict 1,256 single males, overwhelmingly Muslim economic migrants claiming to be asylum seekers, on a village where its 350 residents, many of them pensioners, live quietly. Think about that for a minute. Imagine that you are one of those 350 villagers, and have just learned of the government’s plans to move into your village those 1,256 single male and mostly Muslim “asylum seekers.” What would you do?
A staggering 96 per cent backed independence, with just seven local residents voting to remain a member of the UK.
And on Wednesday, the village once again voted to leave.
Ahead of the result, Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told GB News it was “absolutely right” that the Government listens to the village.
“What I would say to the people of Piddington is I think it’s absolutely right and fair that they express their views, and I think it’s absolutely right that the Government listens to those views,” she said….
She needs to add: “And the government should do what the people of Piddington, and people all over the UK want: an end to these illegal migrants, these soi-disant “asylum seekers,” an end to the creeping Islamization of England’s green and pleasant land. For god’s sake, the people of Piddington are saying: “We are fed up, we hereby declare our independence. Piddington, now and forever. “
According to Government planning documents, the male asylum seekers will be handed “high-visibility vests” should they wish to freely wander into nearby towns.
Oh, that’s okay, then. Those “high-visibility vests” will warn the people of Piddington to be on the qui vive. Danger alert. But who is going to make sure these young men will actually wear them if they are dead set on miching mallecho?
The Principality of Piddington has become a media sensation in the UK. Representatives of the Reform UK, the Tories, Restore Britain, and the Liberal Democrats, that is every major party save for Labour, have visited to offer support to the people rising in revolt in this tiny village, understood as representing all those millions of people of Britain who want the government to stop the flood of mostly Muslim migrants, stop imposing these so-called “asylum seekers” — in reality, economic migrants intent on taking advantage of the many welfare benefits that the British government has on offer — on them, and deport those already in the country whose claims for asylum are found to be without merit.
The people of Piddington have thrown down the gauntlet to their former rulers in the Home Office by declaring their independence. Per aspera ad astra.

I’m guessing that the government of the U.K. has an ace up its sleeve: a legal provision never before appealed to (or “from” as lawyers say) that renders any attempt to secede from the country nugatory, perhaps with a size limit to it – villages are too small to secede.

No, Piddington will not be “independent” but that mediagenic village is now a potent symbol of all that is wrong with the British government, that has so singularly failed to act as the citizens of Piddington, and of tens of thousands of other piddingtons across the land, should wish it to act.
