As the anti-immigrant—or more exactly, the anti-Muslim immigrant — Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party rises, its political enemies become ever more desperate. The AfD goes from strength to strength. It has now won control of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The nationwide opinion polls show it leading all the other parties, as Muslim immigration has become the central issue for the German electorate. Those other parties have tried to have the AfD banned, tarring it as “extreme right” or even hinting at some non-existent Nazi connection, so far without success. But they will keep trying.
Opponents of the AfD have done more than name-calling. They have taken to physically attacking officials and supporters of the party. The latest such attack took place in Bad Kreuznach, where political enemies threw acid at nine people belonging to the AfD. Two of them had to be taken to the hospital. Nine people were injured after a corrosive liquid was reportedly thrown at an information stand belonging to the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party in Bad Kreuznach, Rhineland-Palatinate.
According to the information available and videos circulating on social media, disinfectant was poured from an adjacent building toward the AfD stand. Among those taken to hospital were AfD politicians Nicole Höchst and Sebastian Münzenmaier.
The incident has drawn condemnation from senior AfD figures and supporters, who have described the attack as another example of the escalating hostility faced by the party and its representatives.
Right-wing political commentator Naomi Seibt, who became famous as the “first German asylum seeker” after she sought political asylum in the United States in 2025 citing political persecution in her home country, wrote on X “Leftists attacked an AfD booth with a corrosive liquid,” adding that two AfD politicians had been taken to hospital….
This latest incident comes as the AfD is set to win the Saxony-Anhalt state election this Sunday, maintaining a decisive lead ahead of its chief rival, the governing CDU.
The other parties are in a panic about the inexorable rise of the AfD, which has just won its first state election in Saxony-Anhalt. They have sullied the party as “extremist”and “neo-Nazi.” They have tried to have the party outlawed. They have threatened members and officials belonging to the AfD. They have beaten up its councillors, tried to kill a state parliament member of the AfD by stabbing him in the back, but fortunately his computer, inside his backpack, blunted the blow of the knife, and just now. They have thrown acid at nine AfD supporters manning an information stand in Bad Kreuznach, sending two to the hospital.
Who are the real Nazis? Not those who belong to the AfD, the party that wants to keep out of Germany the enemies of freedom, the destroyers of Western civilization, the murderers of Jews, the misogynists who want to keep women down. The AfD is not attacking any of its political enemies physically, but those enemies — in the spirit of the Sturmabteilung (Stormtroopers) beating up anti-Nazis on German streets in the early 1930s — have been using violence against the AfD to intimidate its supporters and to make its messaging harder to disseminate.
It is not likely to work. Today the AfD governs the important state of Saxony-Anhalt. Many more such victories are coming. In the latest opinion polls, 43% of Germans support the AfD, despite the relentless campaign by all the other parties to blacken its image. Its head, the formidable Alice Weidel, is running circles around Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the other German politicians who still refuse to address the elephant in the room — Muslim immigration. But eventually some of those politicians will come round, recognize the rightness of the AfD’s alarm and the widespread support for its proposed solutions, and drop their current refusal to enter into a government led by the AfD.

Don’t wanna be a wet blanket, but Saxony-Anhalt, which falls within what used to be East Germany during the Cold War, was already AfD turf:in the last federal elections, AfD had won there. The real headway would be if we started reading about AfD gaining majorities in Hamburg, Bavaria, North-Rhein Westphalia, Hesse, et al. Celebrating this is like crowing over a GOP victory in South Dakota or a Democrat victory in Massachusetts
Yeah, I’m happy for the AfD, but I’d like to see their victories in places they haven’t won previously, such as West Germany

AFD should study American Muslims, who did 9/11 yet are taking seats left and right. There is nothing that bad about AFD. They can surpass the Muslims .

At this rate, Infidel, and all things considered, it is quite arguable that East Germany in the long run prevailed over West Germany, but not in the way that would have been understood during the Cold War.

Only difference in your scenario is that Germans who constitute the AfD are not as shameless as muslims are. Yeah, they’ve resisted the “Nazi” label and pushed back on it, but unlike in the US, where at least half the population refuses to ostracize muslims, a majority of Germans are still resistant to AfD

I had argued about this in the past: that had East Germany, instead of re-unifying, just released its border controls to make its people free to leave as they wanted, but otherwise, followed the same examples as Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary, they would have been a pretty healthy country today. Yeah, within a unified Germany, they are the equivalent of ghost cities in America, but w/ policies like the Visegrad countries, they could have been as sturdy as those. Also, just looking at those countries, they could have had an AfD like party (similar to Orban or Tusk) in power, calling the shots
In fact, even today, I think that the erstwhile East Germans should just state that they’d like to revert to seceding, but this time, call their country “Prussia”, resurrecting that state. Yeah, Berlin can remain the capital of Germany – or not, & just be an exclaves of Germany. Also, since Russia is imploding, following the Crimean example, they could even demand back Kaliningrad and resurrect Königsburg, and maybe make that their capital, as it was the capital of East Prussia: now it would just be the capital of Prussia. Make their own currency the Deutshmark, or just the Mark, starting as equivalent to 1€ but diverging from there as time goes on: I’m sure it’ll raise in value. In the process, they can regain the population they lost during and after the Cold War by being more attractive to Germans in West Germany in terms of safety

I think, AfD eventually will have the absolute control by becoming the majority. When it comes, it should take a full action to drain the swamp, using the precedent action if the current authority is using againt AfD, among other lawful actions.
But it may take a long time because the brain washing by the main stream media and current authority work well so far.

See above. We are talking here just about a single state – Saxony-Anhalt, which falls within what used to be East Germany, where AfD was already strong. Even though Germany is the Bundesrepublik Deutschland – the Federal Republic of Germany – I doubt that power there is devolved to states to any meaningful level the way it is in the US: in fact, most of it is concentrated w/ the EU in Brussels (I really wish that the EU had picked a city that was not the capital of one of its members as its headquarters – same w/ NATO), such as Strassbourh or Ma’astricht, so that when one mentioned it, it’s obvious that one is talking about the EU and not Belgium)
So until AfD wins federal German elections and totally deluges all their rivals – CDU, SDP, FDP, Grönen, die Linke,… It won’t have the power to implement what it wants. But if and when they do come to power, they can pretty much defenstrate the EU, and inspire similar revolutions in France, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland and the rest of Europe. Heck, at that point, muslims may well read the writing on the wall, and start self-deporting, just like most illegals self-deported after Trump took office last year
