Progress: Virginia Schools Tell Teachers Not to ‘Associate the 9/11 Attacks With Islam’

Lies are prescribed, truth is forbidden. You know, for the sake of diversity.

There’s a battle for the soul of the nation going on in Virginia (and yes, it is one of many such battles going on all across the country). Don’t be worried, however: the forces of diversity, social justice, and inclusion are winning. Isn’t that wonderful?

Virginia’s WSET reported Friday that “on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is facing scrutiny over how it directs teachers to teach students about 9/11.”

But the right-wing “Islamophobic” bigots who are doing the scrutinizing are not about to gain the upper hand. The courageous Virginia teachers are not backing down. Fox News reported Sunday that “the 2021 Virginia Department of Education webinar by American University instructor Amaarah DeCuir tells teachers to identify 9/11 only as a ‘foreign attack’ caused by ‘extremists’ and says naming the hijackers is ‘not a relevant detail.’”

WSET added that “FCPS, Virginia’s largest public school district, is instructing teachers not to associate 9/11 with Islam despite the terrorist attacks being committed by Islamic extremists.
The six-page guidance sent to teachers instructs them to ‘design instruction around your students’ needs and experiences’ and do not ‘associate the 9/11 attacks with Islam or Muslims’ and do not ‘center [upon] the extremists or the acts of the extremists.’”

This neatly shows up the absurdity of the whole “Islamophobia” scam. The 9/11 attackers themselves associated the attacks with Islam and Muslims. Mohamed Atta, the most notorious of those hijackers, wrote a letter to himself in Arabic on the night before the attacks, reminding himself of some important facts.

Atta wrote: “Read al-Tawba and Anfal and reflect on their meanings and remember all of the things Allah has promised for the martyrs.” Anfal is chapter eight of the Qur’an, and al-Tawba is chapter nine; both contain numerous exhortations to wage war against non-Muslims. Atta also wrote: “Pray during the night and be persistent in asking Allah to give you victory, control and conquest, and that he may make your task easier and not expose us….”

Atta added: “Remember Allah frequently, and the best way to do it is to read the Holy Qur’an, according to all scholars, as far as I know…. You should feel complete tranquility, because the time between you and your marriage [that is, with the virgins of Islam’s paradise] is very short. Afterwards begins the happy life, where Allah is satisfied with you, and eternal bliss ‘in the company of the prophets, the companions, the martyrs and the good people, who are all good company.’ Ask Allah for his mercy and be optimistic, because [the prophet], peace be upon him, used to prefer optimism in all his affairs.”

Atta thought he would be enjoying paradise with the virgins because he was about to carry out a great act of jihad for the sake of Allah. That is clear throughout his letter: his attack was an attempt to gain Allah’s favor and secure a place in paradise, in accord with the Qur’an’s promise: “Indeed, Allah has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth, because the garden will be theirs, they will fight in the way of Allah and will kill and be killed.” (Qur’an 9:111)

But infidels are supposed to ignore that and pretend that Islam is a completely benign thing that had nothing to do with inspiring the attackers, even though they thought it did. It was a misunderstanding of Islam on a massive scale, you see. The Muslims themselves who were involved in the attacks and thought they were carrying them out for Islam got Islam all wrong. It falls to non-Muslim Fairfax County schoolteachers to reveal the true, peaceful Islam.

The left is determined to teach this, and so this is what is going to be taught. A generation or more of young American schoolchildren will learn about how Islam is benign and cuddly, and how those mean “Islamophobes” persecuted Muslims after 9/11, which the Jews or evangelical Christians or some such actually perpetrated.

Imagine of the shock and horror of these students when they discover how thoroughly and comprehensively they’ve been lied to. But by then, it will be far too late.
