Nicholas Kristof, the New York Times columnist who has accused Israel of training dogs to rape Palestinian prisoners — a charge he has never retracted, nor ever provided evidence for — came to Harvard’s Kennedy School for an hour on September 18 for what was billed as a lecture, but instead turned out to be a meandering q-and-a. He was paid a large sum, likely a cool $35,000, for this dismal performance. A columnist for the New York Times, Nicholas Kristof, who is married to the vice chair of Harvard Board of Overseers, Sheryl WuDunn, publicly humiliated himself Friday afternoon on a Harvard Kennedy School stage for what was billed as the Malcolm H. Wiener Lecture in International Political Economy. It turned out to be not a lecture but a pathetic, apparently unprepared question-and-answer style performance by Kristof, who doubled down on his unverified fantasy that Israel is using a trained dog to rape Palestinian prisoners. Kristof said this had happened to “numerous” prisoners, though he also said he couldn’t say how many. He claimed he knew this based on reports from human rights groups that he said didn’t talk to each other but that he then conceded under questioning did talk to each other….
I can’t quite do justice in text to the performance, characterized as it was by Kristof’s self-contradictions, mispronunciations, nervous laughter, and likening of Israel to the Nazis, an instance of Holocaust inversion that violates the definition of antisemitism that Harvard adopted as part of its settlement with Jewish students that a federal court said Harvard had failed. The Kristof dog-rape allegation figures prominently in a shareholder lawsuit filed this week against the New York Times Company by lawyers including the attorney general of Florida and the National Jewish Advocacy Center….
Now his story has become an example of the New York Times’ extraordinary anti-Israel bias, in a lawsuit just filed against the paper by some of its shareholders. We can all look forward to Nicholas Kristof being examined in court, as he is asked to present his evidence for that dog-rapist charge, and comes up, just like the contents of his head, empty.

$35K? I would’ve done it for $15K, and turned the trip into a visit to Beantown for a week. I also would’ve given a decent lecture on International Political Economy, and not a diatribe against Israel with “facts” that he pulled out of his a$$,

Instructive how so little has changed since the early 20th century when the Nazis in Germany were spewing absolute garbage like this about Jews (e.g., having the blood of Christian children baked into Jewish bread).
Man never learns. Some individuals do but man as a whole repeats the same stupidities and lies generation in and generation out. Like Nicholas Kristof.
But what a fine representative he is of the abysmal, mendacious, sloppy and forever irresponsible New York Times—and of Harvard too, which by now one knows or should know has become a joke of a university.
