Foreigners account for a massive share of thefts, sexual violence, and robberies on Paris public transport in 2025, according to new government data.
According to compilations from the SSMSI data files, foreigners accounted in 2025 for 87 percent of simple thefts on Île-de-France public transport, 60 percent of robberies, and 38 percent of physical assault.
In addition, foreigners account for 61 percent of sexual violence cases on Paris public transport and its surrounding regions.
National figures for foreigners committing crimes on public transport are lower but still high, approximately 76 percent of simple-theft suspects are foreigners and 71 percent of all theft suspects are foreigners….
Maghrebi nationals, for instance, account for about 40 percent of theft suspects in transport nationwide, while making up roughly 2 percent of the national population, according to data analyst Marc Vanguard.
INSEE’s latest estimate puts foreigners at 9.1 percent of France’s population in 2025, or around 6.3 million people. Their share is higher in Île-de-France, especially in the multicultural Seine-Saint-Denis department, but the crime for foreigners is still disproportionately high.
In total, police and gendarmerie recorded 104,880 victims of theft, violence, or payment fraud in public transport nationwide in 2025, down 2 percent from 2024 and 22 percent from 2016 — the lowest level in a decade, including the pandemic years….
The decline in “theft, violence, or payment fraud” is due partly to an increase in the police presence on subways and on buses, but mainly on the decline in the number of migrants admitted each year. 313,000 immigrants entered France in 2024. This represents a 10% decrease from 2023 (347,000), and a 16% decrease from the peak in 2022 (375,000). Decreasing the number of migrants immediately translates into a lower crime rate.
It should be noted that among the “French” perpetrators, their potential migration background is not recorded. There are approximately 10 million people in France with a foreign background, including second-generation citizens with a migration background. As a result, a French citizen who is an ethnic Algerian, for instance, would be recorded as a French perpetrator in all crime statistics. France does not keep data on the race of crime suspects, as required by national law.
In other words, many of these criminals, being the children of migrants but not migrants themselves, are counted, misleadingly, as “French.” This raises the number of criminals who are “French,” and decreases the number of criminals who should properly be identified by what is most central to their identity — their Islamic faith. Neither “French” nor “foreign,” they should most accurately be described as “Muslims.”
More broadly speaking, there are estimates that foreigners and French citizens with a migration background account for two out of three crimes in France.
Foreigners and “citizens with a migration background “ — almost all of them Muslims — constitute less than 10% of the population in France, but are responsible for two-thirds of the crimes committed throughout the country. These startling facts have been hidden from the public, which has been misled by the state describing criminals who “have a migration background” as “French.” Intrepid researchers such as the French author, essayist, and commentator Laurent Obertone have said that the problem is “far worse than even the state is willing to admit.” He notes that “migrants and the descendants of migrants are responsible for two-thirds of criminality, because criminality and delinquency are tied in the majority (of cases) to those with an immigration background.”
There are many reasons to vote for the National Rally in France, that promises to curb Muslim migration. Depending on the type of crime, Muslims in France are from six to nine times more likely to commit those crimes than are French non-Muslims. Reduce the numbers of Muslims in the country, and the crime rates will plummet.
