“If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States”
There was a good deal of controversy when Abdul El-Sayed announced that he would appear at an event by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) an unindicted terror funding co-conspirator where top figures had called for an Islamic takeover of the United States of America.
“If only Muslims were clever politically, they could take over the United States and replace its constitutional government with a caliphate,” the unindicted co-conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing predicted. “Take my word, if eight million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us.”
“If we put a nationwide infrastructure in place and marshaled our resources, we’d take over this country in a very short time,” Imam Zaid Shakir, a repeat ISNA guest, preached. “What a great victory it will be for Islam to have this country in the fold and ranks of the Muslims.”
“I believe that as Muslims we should participate in the system to safeguard our interest and try to bring gradual change for the right cause, the cause of truth and justice. We must not forget that Allah’s rules have to be established in all lands, and all our efforts should lead to that direction,” Muzammil Siddiqi, a co-founder of ISNA, had said.
But while that kind of behavior gets a pass, there was another legal problem with El-Sayed’s ISNA appearance, as Middle East Forum reported.
Inside the convention hall, but before ISNA’s registration desk, Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign ran a full exhibitor booth beneath a step-and-repeat banner reading “ABDUL FOR US SENATE.” Flanking pull-up banners branded “Muslims for Abdul” told attendees to elect him. The table carried QR placards for “Donate Today” and “Volunteer Today,” “Muslims for Abdul” sticker rolls, and a sign offering a free T-shirt for a $50 contribution. Stacked beside them were invitations to a September 5 Detroit fundraiser. A campaign worker staffing the booth attempted to solicit a credit-card donation from a Focus on Western Islamism (FWI) writer even after learning that the writer was not a U.S. citizen.
Not legal behavior for a 501(c)(3) non-profit. And now Rep. Keith Self is asking some hard questions.
In a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Rep. Self writes that “this was not simply a candidate attending a religious organization’s event. This is an example of an active political campaign operating within the space of an ISNA convention and using this as an opportunity to solicit money, recruit volunteers, and advocate for the election of a specific candidate. The IRS specifically states that when a 501(c)(3) organization invites a candidate to speak, the organization must not indicate support for or against a candidate and must ensure that no political funding occurs.”
I respectfully request the IRS:Examine or investigate ISNA’s activities surrounding its 2026 annual convention to determine whether ISNA directly or indirectly participated or intervened in a political campaign in violation of Section 501(c)(3).
Determine whether ISNA permitted or facilitated the El-Sayed campaign to operate a campaign booth at or in connection with the convention, including soliciting contributions, recruitment of volunteers, distribution of campaign literature, or any other impermissible activity.
Determine whether ISNA provided space, facilities, personnel, advertising, or other organizational assistance and resources to the El-Sayed campaign and whether any such assistance constituted prohibited political campaign intervention or an impermissible use of charitable resources
Conservative groups have been repeatedly targeted in this way. There’s no reason ISNA should get a pass.

Public Funding is a privilege that should not be granted to organizations like Islam and its Muslim Organizations which are fundamentally against the US Constitution and Western Constitutions. Islam and its Organizations including Muslim Schools and Mosques are against the US Constitution due to Muslim funding, teaching, and promoting discrimination, segregation, hatred, rape, violence, totalitarianism, and terrorism to make Islamic Law supreme. Islam’s Muslims are murderous, Totalitarian Terrorists of Allah operating as a Criminal-Terrorist-Gang Enterprise under Islamic Law to ultimately conquer the enemies of Allah, the Non-Muslims, with Islamic Law DBA Islam(Qur’an 8:60; 9:5, 29, 111; 49:15, etc.).
Islam is the deceitful, daily practice of Islamic Law by Muslims, and Allah rewards his Muslim believers, Criminal-Genocidal-Terrorists of Allah, with a Garden Paradise when they kill and are killed in Jihad for Allah as war against the enemies of Allah, the Non-Muslims, using MUSLIM MONEY and MUSLIM LIVES to make Islam, Islamic Law, supreme(Qur’an 2:191, 216; 4:89, 91, 95; 9:5, 29, 41, 111; 48:29; 49:15, etc.). Allah in Qur’an 9:28-29 commands, “O you who have believed, surely only the polytheists are unclean[dirty]… Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day[Non-Muslims]. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid[via Islamic Law], nor believe in the religion of the truth[Islam] among those who have given the book[Jews and Christians] until they pay the jizyah[Extortion Payment] out of hand and they are subdued[disgraced].” Ultimately, Allah desires to fill hell with Non-Muslims(Qur’an 7:18; 11:119; 32:13; 98:6, etc.).
