The people of tiny Portugal have not experienced such danger since the Lisbon earthquake of 1755. The country may be small, tucked away as it is in the northwest of the Iberian peninsula, but the problem it now faces is the same problem that bigger countries — the UK, France, Germany, and Italy among them — are facing. It’s the arrival of hundreds of thousands and even of millions of migrants, who have disrupted life for the indigenous Portuguese. And now a popular movement has arisen — the “Reconquista” Movement, whose members are determined to push back against this immigrant onslaught. Think of those numbers. There are now three million foreigners or people “with an immigration background” — that’s almost 25% of the Portuguese population. And most of it has happened in the last two decades.

And who are those who do not share “their culture, religion, or way of life”? This can only refer to Muslims.
“We are different because we are formally defending remigration. Chega just defends controlling migration; we defend reverting and inverting the immigration influxes. We defend remigration, and we also criticize migration from our former colonies – so countries like Angola, Mozambique, Brazil, Cape Verde, etc. These countries are the highest representatives in terms of immigration to Portugal. Chega doesn’t criticize them because they want to attract their votes,” he said.
These former colonies include Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe. But in addition, it is clear from his participation in a protest against an “Islamist procession” in Almada — for which he was arrested — that he is anxious as well about Muslim immigrants, an anxiety that is sure to grow as Muslims next door in Spain, with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez having “regularized” their status, will now feel free to move around in Schengenland. And Portugal is part of Schengenland.
The established parties that are panicking at the support those parties are getting often demonize those parties hoping to halt Muslim migration — Afonso Gonçalves casts his net wider, hoping to end migration as well from former colonies — as “extreme right.” Just look at the Christian Democratic Union’s attempt, and that of other German parties, to have the anti-Muslim immigrant party, the Alternative für Deutschland, banned. Those efforts so far have failed, and have only made the AfD more popular. Or how, for many years, the mainstream parties in France tried everything, including supporting a charge against National Rally’s head Marine Le Pen for using European Parliament funds to support her own party, to stop the National Rally’s irresistible rise.
But let us return to the “Reconquista” movement in Portugal, which is not yet, but soon may be, a political party. As its name suggests, it wants to “reconquer” Portugal from those it regards as foreign invaders. This includes, but is not limited to, Muslims, who are now much more likely to enter Portugal from Spain, now that the fiat — a “Royal Decree” — of Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has “regularized” them. Chega is a political party that is not quite as severe as the “Reconquista” movement in the measures it plans to take to limit immigration and to encourage remigration. But that may change as the immigrant problem is only increasing.
Will Goncalves turn his Reconquista movement into a political party? Will that party increase in popularity, and possibly join the Chega Party in a coalition based on a shared anxiety about the amount, and kind, of immigration? And how many Muslims now in Spain, with hundreds of thousands of them just made “legal,” will choose to move to Portugal? Questions for study and discussion.

You are right, of course.. But the Reconquista movement has just been formed; it is not even a political party. Let’s see what happens to it in the next year as more MUslims, now “legalized” by Sanchez, move into Portugal..

Precisely! Regardless of underlying ideologies, this is something that should have 95% support – minus whatever the muslim population of Portugal is. If only 5% are w/ them, then the re-establishment of Andalusia next door could well include Portugal as well

Allah in Qur’an 9:28-29 commands, “O you who have believed, surely only the polytheists are unclean[dirty]… Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day[Non-Muslims]. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid[via Islamic Law], nor believe in the religion of the truth[Islam] among those who have given the book[Jews and Christians] until they pay the jizyah[Extortion Payment] out of hand and they are subdued[disgraced].” Ultimately, Allah desires to fill hell with Non-Muslims(Qur’an 7:18; 11:119; 32:13; 98:6, etc.).
