In Germany, a Catholic Priest Insists Real Christians Must Stand Up for Muslim Migrants

In Germany, a priest has attacked the anti-Muslim migration party Alternative für Deutschland — keep firmly in mind that the AfD is not against all migration, only that by Muslims. Father Karl Jüsten, the head of the Katholisches Büro in Berlin, the German Bishops’ Conference’s official liaison office to the German government, attacked the populist AfD party for calling itself “Christian” while advocating for remigration.

During an August 31 address, which also marked the first public Church appearance of Archbishop Hubertus Matheus Maria van Megen, whom Pope Leo XIV appointed as apostolic nuncio to Germany earlier this year, Fr. Jüsten called the AfD’s political platform “incompatible” with both the Catholic Church and the German Constitution for its opposition to mass migration, per German media.

So the attempt to protect the nations, peoples, and civilization of the West, which the acolytes of Islam hope to destroy, is “incompatible” with the Catholic Church? A great many Catholics would disagree. The world’s Christians owe the world’s Muslims exactly nothing; Islam has been making war on Christianity ever since it appeared in the world in the seventh century. Muslims have conquered many Christian lands and reduced the numbers of Christians by offering those they conquered only three choices: to convert to Islam, to be put to death, or to accept the permanent status of dhimmis, requiring them to submit to a host of economic, social, and political disabilities, including payment of the onerous capitation tax known as the jizyah.

Over time, in the lands that Muslims ruled, some Christians converted; others who refused were executed; but most accepted to live as “dhimmis.” Over the centuries, however, many of those Christians who were treated as dhimmis could not bear what was demanded them, and converted to Islam.

The priest, after praising Germany’s constitution for not favoring one religion, which contradicts Catholic teaching on government, emphasized the AfD’s alleged advocacy for “marginalizing” a “religious community” for its “cultural foreignness,” likely a reference to Muslim migrants. He made his comments in a keynote address during the annual reception for the Catholic Office of Saxony.

It’s not the AfD that has “marginalized” Muslims. It’s Muslims themselves, who refuse to integrate into the larger German society around them. They don’t want to be part of that society that the Infidels created. Those Infidels are, the Muslims know, “the most vile of created beings.” The Qur’an tells them to despise the Infidels, and not to take Christians or Jews as friends, for “they are friends only with each other.

“Where a community violates the law, the rule of law intervenes. But it does not condemn an entire religion across the board in advance,” Fr. Jüsten said.

Hold it right there. Islam is not only, and not even mainly, a religion, but a politics and geopolitics. It is less concerned with an individual’s relation to the Almighty than with the power of Muslims here below. Its votaries insist that, as Muhammad said, “Islam is to dominate and not to be dominated.” It wants the entire world to submit to Islam, by force if necessary, and for the principles of Sharia to rule. Has this Father Justen read the Qur’an and the hadith? I doubt it, and if I’m right, he has no business lecturing anyone about Islam as a “religion.”

Turning to the AfD specifically, the priest slammed the party, which strongly opposes abortion and promotes Catholic social teaching, for its apparent “hostility” toward the Church over immigration.

“Whoever weakens the churches weakens a vital part of our lived community. And in the end, it’s not the church leadership that is affected,” he said. “It’s the people who depend on these services. Churches stand for integration and the common good.”

Churches may stand for “integration,” but Muslims don’t want integration. They want, little by little, to acquire dominance. They do not believe, as Fr. Jüsten assumes they do, in “the common good.” What is “good” for Muslims is bad for non-Muslims, who are expected to submit, over time, to Muslim rule.
