In “The Mouse that Roared” or “Tight Little Island” fashion, the people — pensioners for the most part — in a small English town, having been inundated by mostly Muslim “asylum seekers,” and with more threatening to arrive, are now fighting back. They are using the internet to post pictures of these young overwhelmingly Muslim immigrants as they swagger through the village, insulting the locals, stealing from the charity shops, and otherwise disturbing the peace. The people of Piddington, for that is the tiny town’s name, and other towns similarly affected now upload to the internet their own tales of being bullied by these unpleasant foreigners who have been imposed on them. At first glance, you would not guess that the pensioners enjoying coffee and cake outside the Yumy Café in Braintree, Essex, on Monday morning were far-Right thugs. Two of the ladies, Valerie and Chrissie, who are celebrating their 80th birthdays, are wearing matching tiaras. The group is in high spirits and there is lots of teasing and laughter. But if you listen to their conversation, in between talk of grandchildren going back to uni and the impossibility of ever seeing a GP, you realise these septuagenarians and octogenarians believe they are in the fight of their lives. Along with the villagers of Piddington and campaigners in Crowborough, all protesting against a frightening influx into their communities of illegal migrants, the Braintree pensioners find themselves on the frontline of the new Battle of Britain.
Ken, who wears a jaunty Union-Flag bucket hat and matching neckerchief, offers Lynette another coffee and she accepts. “Being a vigilante is thirsty work,” she smiles. Valerie joins in: “You know that’s what they call us, Allison? We are vigilantes, fascists, racists, far-Right just because we don’t want hundreds of men from God-knows-where in our town.”
“The Home Office doesn’t even know if they’re rapists or members of Isis. How is it safe to have them here?” demands Michelle, a campaigning mum in her thirties who supports the pensioners’ group and is one of the controversial local “auditors” who have taken to filming the migrants and posting the footage on social media to attract national attention. Michelle is determined that, just because Wethersfield, seven miles north of Braintree, “was the first” asylum centre and Braintree is “a low-class area” compared to somewhere like Piddington, it should not be forgotten.
Both of the birthday girls, Valerie and Chrissie, who are on mobility scooters, shock me when they say they have been abused and spat at. “We are 80 years old and we’ve been trolled on social media,” Valerie says. “We are told we should stop protesting and get a job. The migrants come out of the Salvation Army holding up £100 trainers, kissing the trainers, showing off all the treats they get. They give us the middle finger.”
They don’t?
“They do, Allison, they really do, they’re so rude and arrogant. Then they go and steal in the charity shops. When they get challenged, they say, ‘We’re allowed to take stuff because we’re asylum seekers’. One of them assaulted a member of staff, we’ve got it on video.” A nurse at the local hospital was sexually assaulted by a migrant she was treating in January this year. And another man from the Wethersfield centre was charged following the assault of a woman in May.
Valerie is describing some of the 1,000-plus illegal migrants who are being put up at taxpayers’ expense at Wethersfield, a former RAF base. (The total cost to set up and run the asylum accommodation centre through its projected lifespan to 2027 is an estimated £339m, although no one I spoke to believes it will shut next year. The annual running bill of over £30m was based on housing 600 men and there may soon be double that. The Home Office doesn’t make it easy to find out.)
Three hundred thirty nine million pounds, just to house, for 2-3 years, only 600 “asylum seekers.” Do the math, then shake your fist at the men in Whitehall.
Every day, a cavalcade of minibuses, up to four an hour, drops off scores of young, undocumented [illegal] males in this town centre, as well as in Colchester and Chelmsford. Meanwhile, the public bus service from the village of Wethersfield into Braintree has been discontinued. Just one thing locals point to as an example of the state prioritising the illegal incomers. The unfairness rankles.
In the old days, one could imagine a movie about the Piddington and Braintree and other pensioners doing battle with an unfeeling government that dumped a thousand Muslim migrants in the midst of their tiny village. It could have been shot both on site and at Ealing Studies, with Alec Guinness, Alistair Sim, Margaret Rutherford and, of course, husky-voiced Joan Greenwood playing the roles of these brave and bullied pensioners. It could still be made today, with other actors. Who, in the House of Commons or House of Lords, having read Allison Pearson’s piece in The Telegraph about the pensioners and the trouble-making illegal “asylum seekers” whom they now must endure in Piddington and elsewhere, will stand up in the Mother of Parliaments and denounce this wretched state of affairs? Who will demand that those “asylum seekers,” almost all of them fraudulent claimants, be deported back promptly to their countries of origin?

And may I say what complete idiots, treated in the aggregate, now make up the Western media. They’re not just a joke but a monumentally stupid and destructive joke—whether in the UK, America, Canada, Australia, etc. As for the British politicians who have allowed this insanity, they are quite simply traitors.
Again I ask, short of civil war, how can Britain be saved? The British police are beyond pathetic and horribly compromised so it will have to come down to the British Armed Forces. Yes, I believe this dire. Hope I’m wrong.

I agree Wellington. I don’t see why the gov would listen to these old people. These migrants are being treated well so they will vote one day. They’re more important, screw the old people bus.
They want every migrant they can get, and they want these old people dead already.
You have to consider as well, these policies were voted for by the citizenry, and these old people are in a minority, as the left was voted in and the lefts number one issue is more Muslim male migration. They also permit Ukraine women in, but not the men.
At other camps, they mix these Ukrainian women and children, with Muslim male asylum seeker. It’s chaos. Asylum seeking is really a profession now in the UK na Europe. You’ll be taken care of for life, and you’ll eventually re unify your family.
If your asylum seeking is dismissed (rarely) they simply let you go into the street. They rigged the system so Muslims cant lose. Everyone is coming over.

Hate to say it, but while I support those Brits who want to fight to the end, I do think that the government is looking at its younger demographic – and changing policies accordingly. How many years has it been since we’ve been hearing about Mohammed (or variations of that spelling) be the most common baby name in Britain? Well, those Mohammeds are now of voting age, and as a demographic, can be owned. Of course, who owns them would be an issue, since they now have the numbers to create a British edition of Jamaat e islami (the leading subcontinental islamic party), and would no longer be automatic votes for Labour, Greens or even “Your Party” (is that thing still around?)
So once these old people who resent Britain’s islamization die off, Britain will look like Malaysia or Lebanon at best from the 1960s, which went from a muslim-plurality to a muslim-majority country. At which point, Anglo-Saxons, Celts, Normans, Jutes, et al might as well look at migrating to those colonies that are not yet independent – like Falklands, various Pacific Islands and so on. Unfortunately for them, countries that might once upon a time been a refuge – like Australia, Canada, New Zealand…. all have governments not much different from Labour
Only other alternative may be a pretty bloody civil war. But given the fact that Britain doesn’t have a Second Amendment, I’m not sure that they could win

I largely agree.
But one factor I think that’s being missed is that the dam will totally break at one point. I mean there will be waves of millions of Muslims coming when the political climate lets them, and the Muslims and leftists gain control.
This will be the finishing blow at this point. I do not see the same for Germany , or France though. It will be in Britain. It will be very radical stuff, such as mass amnesty and citizenship to same day arrivals, it will be plane loads of migrants coming. And they’ll be allowed to vote as well.
They will totally overwhelm the political system, they will have a national effort to settle these migrants in military bases, hotels. A relentless flow of migrants.
I do not see the same for France. I do think there will be changes to slow down Islamization. But there as well, Islam will increase under any circumstances, even La Pen, Muslims will continue their mission through the womb, and wait out for a change in government to the left, and open the borders again.
The factor that will put either the left or globalists back in power will be a ravished economy. The voters will not have patience and they’ll vote the left right back in.
To save France, Len Pen should cancel elections. There’s no other way. Get the military on board, I do believe they understand what’s going on and the left will destroy France.
