The Deen Fallacy looks to be an extremely insightful book. Yet, even here on Jihadwatch, the consensus of the commenters is that islam is merely an evil religion, and further, that suggesting that politics is actually inherent in islam is a serious mistake which will discredit all opposition to islam.

The regular commenters here do not claim that “islam is merely an evil religion.” On the contrary, many comments are concerning the political aspects.
and just last evening, I posted a comment on what a former adherent had to say about islam being a “state” with a “religion included.”
